Mewtwo Event Start
They came in a horde. Ferried by enormous water types and a huge flock of flying types, each fully evolved with strange markings across its body. They were angry. They were in pain. And they were here.
Moving across the land like a tidal wave, the horde of strange Pokemon swept across the land, making their way inexorably toward Union, and leaving devastation in their wake. At their head, a Psychic Pokemon of immense, immeasurable power. Covered in armor that did little to mask the scent of rotting flesh that accompanied it, the Pokemon’s mind seemed unburdened by the state of its body as it swept trees from their root with but a contemptuous gesture.
As the Union forces scrambled to meet the army of Pokemon, Ori, the mysterious young person who had visited before appeared in a flash.
Begone, Origin! This no longer concerns you!
The voice thundered in the minds of all present, the rage of the attacking Pokemon palpable as its horde roared in agreement.
Ori gave the Pokemon a sad smile as their body began to glow with an aura of pink light. In an instant, the human was gone, and another, much smaller Pokemon remained.
This is unnecessary. We… they can help you.
I trusted my fate to humanity once. Never again will I make such a foolish mistake.
You will see. They will show you the way.
The two mysterious stones taken from the Gigas installation appeared besides Ori, but their sheen seemed almost nonexistent. Closing their eyes, the Pokemon engulfed the battlefield in an aura of shimmering pink light. The wails and screams of the Pokemon assembled before them grew palpable. Screams of pain, screams of want, screams of beings slowly dying, grasping for a final hope that their master might cast down the accursed humans and find a cure for their malady, a way to allow them to live as whole beings.
But comprehension is not understanding. Heedless of the aura, the Pokemon advanced, a wave of destructive fury hurled to the teeth of the Union column.
[Mew’s Blessing: During this log all characters will be able to communicate with each other and all Pokemon telepathically, and can resonate with them without having to use their Warp Band. They can bond with any Pokemon on the field without the aid of their warp band, so long as they can present a good reason for the enemy to do so.
Children of the Verdant Forest will be especially affected, and during this log they will have a sharp increase in their empathic feelings. They will feel the pain of the cloned Pokemon before them, the pain of being “lesser” beings, incomplete, and the pain of the knowledge that their lives will soon end, the process that created them being unable to sustain their lives.
Kindred Souls will have some empathic ability, but to a lesser degree than Children of the Verdant Forest as outlined above]

But it looks, as much as any Wobbuffet can be observed to "look", out at the crowd. Will you try anyway?

And then, slowly and ever so gently, she tries to touch the Pokemon, giving a soft smile. "But I'll always keep trying. Reaching out to you. To make a connection. In hopes that one day we can understand each other."
[ooc: Bonding attempt with Mew's Gift ahoy?]

Orihime quieted a moment, studying the psychic Pokemon. While she could feel their pain and frustration, she didn't know what had caused them to feel that way in the first place. She could promise paradise, but that wouldn't matter if it wasn't what they wanted.
Slowly she made herself relax. "What happened...?" Did the others already know? If so, Orihime was definitely in the dark about this.

"The other thing is we're uh. Really stubborn," she admits, in support of the noble's argument.

"Yes. I'm going to keep trying because I want to show you how we've changed," she said. "But, I can't do that without helping you, and I can't help you if you keep blocking us. So, I'm going to keep trying."

Maybe it's asking itself, maybe it's asking Mewtwo. But it gets an answer when, from behind it, a whole bunch of smaller Pokémon tumble out, having been shielded by its body thus far. Small, fuchsia Pokémon, little more than blobs with heads. Should it trust?
"Wynaut?" "Wynaut?" "Wynaut?" "Wynaut?"

It was difficult not to melt right on the spot. She agreed with Lenna, they were absolutely adorable. Who could resist wanting to scoop them up and cuddle them?
Which was why she kept a respectful distance. Unless the parent gave permission, it was pretty rude to just run up and glomp someone's baby, especially if Wobbuffet still wasn't sure about them. Her smile softened, and she looked at Mewtwo, then at Wobbuffet. "There's a place in the city where all kinds of Pokemon live together. If you need somewhere to call home, maybe you should try it out. Some of my friends live there too, they love it!"

"Humans... as a race, we do have a history of making poor decisions, but that time is not now. What Union has striven for all these years is working together with Pokemon, forging a legacy that can rectify what happened in the past, and a future made to support those who are suffering now. We shouldn't be only spurred to action at the risk of our own lives, and to yours as well. You, and your companions, and your family, all deserve better."
... it wasn't meant to be a speech. Too many words weren't what were needed now, but actions. Powerful actions. She didn't know if her healing abilities would be any use, though...

"Hi, guys! You're all so cute!" She was completely bowled over by them. "Do you guys need help, too? Would you trust us to help?"

While the storm of psychic energy had been abating, it now returns with a fury far greater, threatening to crush everyone with its raw power.
THEY SEEK TO USE US! TO STUDY US! TO DISSECT US! IT IS AS IT WAS BEFORE AND WILL BE AGAIN, FOREVER OUR FATE! TO TRUST IN THEM IS FOOLISHNESS! IN OUR FOOLISHNESS, WE DIE!

I can’t let you do that.
Peering around Rise’s shoulder (when did a pokemon sneak behind her?), Mew’s head tilted slightly, pale blue eyes aglow as it pushes against its copy’s attack, keeping it at bay. Tail curling over Rise’s head, the pink pokemon floats upward, a look of concern clear on its face.
I’m sorry, but I can’t let you hurt these humans. They aren’t like the ones from the past.
The origin pokemon’s body beginning to glow gently, it brings its tiny hands toward its heart, where two mega stones appeared. Hovering toward Orihime and Lenna, it gave each girl a separate stone.
Please, trust these children. They are the light of this world, and deserving of the love of Savior. Let them show you their love and kindness. They want to help you. We want to help you.
Mew then turned toward the group, the lightest of smiles on its face.
Isn’t that right?

"All of us are standing together to help you right now," Rise declares. "We don't want to study you, we want to understand. To do what we can to help. To help you take care of these little ones - or not, if you want to yourself."

Wobbuffet, for the first time, appears to be having a mental battle with itself. But that does not stop it from Standing. With Resolution. Will you pass me? it asks, looking at those Mega Stones, wondering what will come next. Will you help?
"Wynaut?"
no subject
"Thank you for trusting me with this," she says softly, looking back to the Wobbuffet.
"And as for you..." she starts before casting a glance at its adorable gaggle of children, giggling a moment before looking back at him. "...Why not?"
Time to try to walk past him again. There's one more Pokemon they have to convince.

For the little Wynaut that came to her, she scooped it up in her arms, holding it gently. She smiled at Lenna and the Wobbuffet.
"It'll be okay. We'll show you."

Whatever the reason, when she saw its calm and trusting smile, Orihime couldn't help but return it. "Right!" she agreed, warmed through and through. The light of the world... Her? It was hard to believe, but oh, how badly she wanted to believe it!
Orihime went to one knee, putting herself closer to the level of the Wynaut and petting its adorable little blobby head. It was so young and trusting, how could she not love it immediately? "Are you sure you want to be with me?" she smiled. Far be it from her to split up such a sweet little family, but if it wanted to seek out new adventures, it had come to the right Enlightened, that was for sure.

"The least that we can do is learn from one another, don't you think?"
It was a start, anyway. "Why not see where that leads us?"
no subject
The Wynaut in front of Orihime seems in awe of the Mega Stone, pointing first at the stone and then at Mewtwo. Then at the stone, and then at Mewtwo. Then at Lenna, who is trying to bring her stone to Mewtwo. "Wynaut?"
Everybody else's Wynaut agree: "Wynaut?"
And even Wobbuffet points at Mewtwo. Stones from the Origin! The Origin, free of pain! "WOBBUFFET!"

"I think this belongs to you. Please, take it, as an offering of peace and friendship between our people and your Pokemon friends."

Taking to the skies, the Origin pokemon hovered over them, not quite near but not quite far from them. Still they could hear its voice; “Now, pour your hearts into the stones. Hurry!”

"Can't we be friends?"
no subject
I... what... what was that?
Confused though it is, it seems the kindness and purity of Lenna's heart has ended the threat, for now, anyway.
