Mewtwo Event Start
They came in a horde. Ferried by enormous water types and a huge flock of flying types, each fully evolved with strange markings across its body. They were angry. They were in pain. And they were here.
Moving across the land like a tidal wave, the horde of strange Pokemon swept across the land, making their way inexorably toward Union, and leaving devastation in their wake. At their head, a Psychic Pokemon of immense, immeasurable power. Covered in armor that did little to mask the scent of rotting flesh that accompanied it, the Pokemon’s mind seemed unburdened by the state of its body as it swept trees from their root with but a contemptuous gesture.
As the Union forces scrambled to meet the army of Pokemon, Ori, the mysterious young person who had visited before appeared in a flash.
Begone, Origin! This no longer concerns you!
The voice thundered in the minds of all present, the rage of the attacking Pokemon palpable as its horde roared in agreement.
Ori gave the Pokemon a sad smile as their body began to glow with an aura of pink light. In an instant, the human was gone, and another, much smaller Pokemon remained.
This is unnecessary. We… they can help you.
I trusted my fate to humanity once. Never again will I make such a foolish mistake.
You will see. They will show you the way.
The two mysterious stones taken from the Gigas installation appeared besides Ori, but their sheen seemed almost nonexistent. Closing their eyes, the Pokemon engulfed the battlefield in an aura of shimmering pink light. The wails and screams of the Pokemon assembled before them grew palpable. Screams of pain, screams of want, screams of beings slowly dying, grasping for a final hope that their master might cast down the accursed humans and find a cure for their malady, a way to allow them to live as whole beings.
But comprehension is not understanding. Heedless of the aura, the Pokemon advanced, a wave of destructive fury hurled to the teeth of the Union column.
[Mew’s Blessing: During this log all characters will be able to communicate with each other and all Pokemon telepathically, and can resonate with them without having to use their Warp Band. They can bond with any Pokemon on the field without the aid of their warp band, so long as they can present a good reason for the enemy to do so.
Children of the Verdant Forest will be especially affected, and during this log they will have a sharp increase in their empathic feelings. They will feel the pain of the cloned Pokemon before them, the pain of being “lesser” beings, incomplete, and the pain of the knowledge that their lives will soon end, the process that created them being unable to sustain their lives.
Kindred Souls will have some empathic ability, but to a lesser degree than Children of the Verdant Forest as outlined above]

Lucario, Blissey, Diggersby, Sawsbuck, and Absol
Today is the day, at last... Taosu the Absol declares rather calmly. Today, we all die.
No, we're not!! Yami the Diggersby growls to the Dark-type. I have too many plans for this city to just up and die like craven here!
Silence, both of you! Soft Steel the Lucario hardly even looks over his shoulder. He scans the forest canapy, looking for enemy auras.
Salamence, Flygon, Escavalier, Pyroar, Shinx
Saber senses the killing intent hidden within the forest, and covers herself with Iron Defense, and with some mental urging, Ddraig also focuses on a Protect.
"I'm getting tired of being ambushed in these woods," saber comments. "Show yourself!"
With any luck, that would get the hostile presence's attention on her, at least.
Hitmonchan (of course), Infernape, Primeape, Toxicroak, and Golurk
The Golurk moved awkwardly into the trees, while the group of Fighting types spread out protectively in a ring around Yuuna. Geshiko seems especially nervous, her froggy eyes darting to and fro. Sword in hand, Yuuna notes this and reflexively draws her armored jacket tighter around herself.
"Come out, come out wherever you are," Yuuna calls into the trees, concentrating her inner storm and using Charge to build an electric shot and increase her defenses. Meanwhile the Golurk shudders and intensifies Gravity all around them, hoping to keep whatever's going on near the ground.
24 hour advance.
More immediatly was something else to dislike. The summons from both Saber and Yuuna, and Haruka's taunting, was met series of Spikes being dropped on the ground to impede the team's movement-- and anyone paying attention would catch a glimpse of something somewhat...froggy.
The various buffs in effect in combination were going to make it tricky for their assailant to hide, but it wasn't keen on negotiating either.
Seeing me does you no good. It grumbled irritably, eyes narrowing at the crowd. This ends today!
Summoning massive discs of water into it's hands, the pokemon formed them into a pair of Water Shurikens and hurled a barrage of them at the team in an attack that was as sharp as any blade.
no subject
"Why this," she grumbles, looking down at the spikes. "Gouken, can you please deal with this?"
With a nod, the Hitmonchan begins to spin, kicking up a whirlwind in a trick he'd learned from a friend and using Rapid Spin to blow away the trap on the ground. While Yuuna herself lobs an unerring Aura Sphere at the froggy assailant.
"We'd rather not fight. But if you're forcing it..."
no subject
"We are not your enemy, assassin, but we will defend ourselves."
Stand back and keep it pinned here, Ddraig, Saber instructs her Pokémon. Once Gouken clears away the Spikes, Saber darts through the woods. High gravity makes it harder for her to pull off fancy acrobatics, but it doesn't slow her sword - once she closes, she makes a flurry of probing attacks with Fury Cutter.
Ddraig, meanwhile, follows directions and breathes a Dragon Breath in the assailant's direction, attempting to keep it boxed in without, hopefully, setting anything on fire.

He frowns at the familiar shape in the shadows, bringing back memories of a really bad time not too long ago in Caldera. A bad time that he'd probably be dead from right now if not for a helping hand, but that time they'd caught him unarmed and unprepared. This time is very different.
"Riffletum!" He holds a hand up as he casts the spell, a shield springing to life to catch a shuriken heading his way. "Come on, Hops, you're outnumbered and none of us are in the mood for a fight. Any chance we can talk this through?"
He doesn't count on it. The pain echoing through the air, the tone in the Pokemon's mental voice... this is a creature with nothing to lose and outnumbered or not, that makes it dangerous as anything. Letting his guard down would be a terrible move.
But it's worth a shot, and it might just give enough time for Gawain to further stack the deck by adding his Lucky Chant to the cloud of buffs over the party.

Haruka laughs. Actually laughs. But only once, because this situation is a pain.
Reuniclus Reflects those shuriken, but the one splashing to the ground near Brilliance still makes the Rhyhorn shift in place. Oh no. Wet. This Pokémon makes things wet. Brilliance does not like wet.
"You shouldn't believe everything you hear, anyway," Haruka points out, summoning a Gust and aiming it at the trees - if they're going to do the Union thing, she won't attack the frog directly, but she can try to shake it out of its hiding place. She just needs it on the ground. Just, you know. In case. "Rumors exaggerate."
Unless this is a frog assassin taking part in a crazed rotting Pokémon's army that hasn't heard of Yuuna, Destroyer of Croaks, or whatever the term is; Haruka can't really be bothered to remember it properly. But somehow, she thinks the odds of that are slimmer than the odds that this talking strategy is going to work.

He's gritting his teeth as part of his Endure move, so as to not buckle under the unslaught of emotions due to the empathetic side of the blessing. Gods, is this what Children of the Verdant Forest deal with all the time?
"Besides, Union is not the kind of place where people mistreat their Pokemon - any kind of Pokemon," Right points out. He nudges Kisetsu forward with a gentle tap of his heel, even as the Kindred Soul continues to speak. "We have people here - healers - who would do everything that they can to try and save you all from whatever is ailing you. Please, if all you want is a chance to live, free of pain...let us help you."
And please, Gods, let the Pokemon recognize that he's Kindred, in hopes of getting him to not attack them anymore.

Annoyed now by the chatter, it calls forth a Smokescreen and disappears once more into the trees.
Fine words, from the one who makes the earth tremble with the rage of a thousand Rhyhorns, their froggy assailant hissed in the smokey fog. Especially with the company you keep. The blade that tamed many dragons across the land, the dark Magus who slaughtered his own kind, and the fabled Great Destroyer of the Croagunk tribe-- who went as far as to abduct one of their very priestesses?
A soft, decidedly froggy snort could be heard echoing around them.
A fine team you make. Even the one who made a glutton of himself on the berries of the forest. Tell me, how do these rumors exaggerate? Why should we trust any of the words you say?
no subject
"This is just ridiculous. Geshiko can you talk some sense into it?"
The dark-robed priestess Toxicroak burbled a little bit and hopped forward, out of the ring of Pokemon and faced the direction she smelled the Greninja in.
She's not lying, you know. Yuuna's a good person. She didn't abduct me at all. And all of that was a big misunderstanding. If you talk to her, you'll see. She wants to help all Pokemon, including you. If you're not well, please let her help you.

"Listen, you're not wrong but--"
Unfortunately, he's cut off by Gawain suddenly rushing forward. The Gallade stops, raising a bladed arm to the forest.
Liar! I'll not stand by and listen to your slanderous words any longer! Come out of hiding and face me, you coward!
Lash makes a disgusted sound, rolling her eyes at the display. Harry stares at the warrior Pokemon, mouth still open in mid-sentence.
"Dude...."
no subject
Oh, puh-lease! Yami snorts, rolling his eyes dramatically. Is that really the best you can do? If you're going to be all 'dark and mysterious and all-knowing', you really need to know where to hit them the most. Like his intelligence! He's hardly smarter than a ton of bricks! And his trust issues. Boy is far too trusting for his own good; perfect setup to be used...
Right's staring at his Diggersby in disbelief. How could the guy just say that kind of stuff to a complete stranger?! Thankfully, Miss Chansey happens to Fling one of her eggs into the yammering Pokemon's mouth just to shut him up.
Thank you. Content with the silence, the Lucario focuses on using his Foresight to locate the enemy's aura in the smoky area around them.
no subject
'Tamer' of dragons? she asks, on the Greninja's terms. I'm no tamer. I'm one of you. Certain Pokémon have chosen to follow me, each for their own reasons.
Ddraig grumbles out an affirmation, and also speaks into the psychic link. Saber gave me an example to strive for, and helped me learn to fly. She's a leader, but she is no one's master.
To emphasize her point, Saber transforms into her Aegislash form, still challenging the Greninja, but in dialog rather than arms for the moment.
no subject
"Get it on the ground," she mutters - her own mobility is limited, so she doesn't think much of her chances of being able to touch the enemy itself. But, as the frog itself has pointed out, she doesn't have to.
If things go sour, Haruka just needs it to get out of the trees.
no subject
No further movement could be heard from the trees above them, but the smokescreen didn't dissipate either. 'Hops' seemed to be biding his time...
And another soft snort could be heard.
You all talk too much, the Greninja muttered. Then, more clearly: State your ideas and your terms. If you're so keen to 'help', you best back it up.
no subject
He blinks though, when the Greninja seems to open the floor up for talking rather than attacking. Gawain glances back his way and he shakes his head just slightly, signaling for the Pokemon to remain at ease. The sounds of battle and the screams of Pokemon are still on the air and this could very well be a trick but... even if they do fight their way past this one, there's still that armored Pokemon at the head of this army. That thing's power is enormous and he doesn't have a clue how to begin to challenge that. Maybe they can at least get some insight into what it is and why it's here.
"Okay, how about we all just take a second here." He takes a step forward, raising his left hand. "You've been wronged, that much is clear, but this..."
he waves his hand, gesturing to the destruction and chaos of the battlefield,
"... is not going to undo that wrong. And take it from a dark Magus who knows: revenge doesn't take the hurting away." He pauses, lowering his hand as he watches the trees carefully. "So talk to us, tell us what's happened to you. There just might be somebody here who can help you. Is revenge worth wiping out that chance?"
no subject
She maintains her defense, but decides to stick to diplomacy for now. We'd like to help you, preferably by ceasing hostilities and then giving what aid we can. Both one Pokémon to another, and a resident of Union to someone who needs it.
no subject
Right closes his eyes, doing his best to focus on the Image of Union's future he had down in those caves a year back. It's a little hard to keep to focused, though, with all of these negative feelings and pain all around him, penetrating his mind...
"Union...it's our home. Here, we don't force Pokemon to work for us. They join willingly. We bond with them, becomes friends and allies...even family. We do our best to never, ever repeat the mistakes of the past."
He then grimaces a little. Not only is there pain on his arm from that wound from earlier, but there's an ache growing in his chest - almost like he's absorbing all the negative emotions. "It ain't perfect, not yet...but we're working on it. Besides, it's not Pokemon who's been done wrong by humans. Other humans have suffered, too. But we've helped them all - humans and Pokemon - and I'm sure that we can try and find a way to help you guys live longer, even for a little bit."
no subject
....Figuratively.
So it's Brilliance who helps the cause, less in words and more just in psychic conveyance of ideas - Rhyhorn don't do well with language. A sunny field. A nap in the shade. Haruka not making her run when she doesn't want to run. Haruka taking pride in seeing Super Beauty do laps around the courtyard. Happiness.
Brilliance just projects happiness at the enemy. Haruka smirks. Even the Rhyhorn are Unionites.
no subject
We'd like to figure out what was done to you. the Frog Priestess of the Great Destroyer says. We'll undo it, if we can. And we'll ensure that nothing like it ever happens again. No matter what, your pain will not repeat itself on others. That much I can promise you. My trainer. My...friend...she won't let that happen.
no subject
Quit wasting your time with those pretty words of your's-- there's nothing any of you can do to make this right. It's too late.
With it's words was a grim sense of conviction. This was what it truly believed, for there was nothing else that it could believe in.
no subject
Still, she stands at attention, still in Shield Forme.
Still...if you insist on settling this the old-fashioned way, we can settle it the old-fashioned way, Pokémon to Pokémon. I swear on my honor as an Aegislash that these humans not only want to, but can help you and all your friends, and I'm willing to prove that through combat, she says. Single combat. Allow the rest of these people to move on, and we'll fight blade to blade like we would in the wild.
If putting her own neck unreservedly on the chopping block doesn't convince him, Saber reasons, nothing will.
no subject
Well, Yuuna, technically. But Haruka's on the verge of offering herself - she's already wounded, so what's some more, and she was present for the first great frog outrage - when the counterargument occurs to her and she settles down. "Move on", the Aegislash had said. Not "retreat". Yes, the group could probably take this frog if it showed itself. But they have to stay alive to get to the big guns.
So she smirks. Fine. If the enemy will accept a sacrifice, she'll make sure it's a willing one. "Come out of the trees," she orders. "You have your opponent."
no subject
Yuuna stepped out of the group, giving both Saber and Haruka a warning glance and flicking on her Warp Band. She wasn't an empath, but the band would give her something, help her talk to this thing and understand it better. She stands beside Geshiko, holding the band out to where she can sense the thing's presence, focusing on it.
"We don't want to fight," the Great Destroyer says, filling her words with her emotions. The thing should get a real sense of just who Yuuna is: someone strong, honorable, with a sense of duty and responsibility she'd earned. Someone who can and would fix her mistakes, and someone who wasn't too proud to get help to fix them.
"We want to help, and it's never, ever too late. Just trust us, even if it's just a little bit. We'll help you, we'll find a way."
