Mewtwo Event Start
They came in a horde. Ferried by enormous water types and a huge flock of flying types, each fully evolved with strange markings across its body. They were angry. They were in pain. And they were here.
Moving across the land like a tidal wave, the horde of strange Pokemon swept across the land, making their way inexorably toward Union, and leaving devastation in their wake. At their head, a Psychic Pokemon of immense, immeasurable power. Covered in armor that did little to mask the scent of rotting flesh that accompanied it, the Pokemon’s mind seemed unburdened by the state of its body as it swept trees from their root with but a contemptuous gesture.
As the Union forces scrambled to meet the army of Pokemon, Ori, the mysterious young person who had visited before appeared in a flash.
Begone, Origin! This no longer concerns you!
The voice thundered in the minds of all present, the rage of the attacking Pokemon palpable as its horde roared in agreement.
Ori gave the Pokemon a sad smile as their body began to glow with an aura of pink light. In an instant, the human was gone, and another, much smaller Pokemon remained.
This is unnecessary. We… they can help you.
I trusted my fate to humanity once. Never again will I make such a foolish mistake.
You will see. They will show you the way.
The two mysterious stones taken from the Gigas installation appeared besides Ori, but their sheen seemed almost nonexistent. Closing their eyes, the Pokemon engulfed the battlefield in an aura of shimmering pink light. The wails and screams of the Pokemon assembled before them grew palpable. Screams of pain, screams of want, screams of beings slowly dying, grasping for a final hope that their master might cast down the accursed humans and find a cure for their malady, a way to allow them to live as whole beings.
But comprehension is not understanding. Heedless of the aura, the Pokemon advanced, a wave of destructive fury hurled to the teeth of the Union column.
[Mew’s Blessing: During this log all characters will be able to communicate with each other and all Pokemon telepathically, and can resonate with them without having to use their Warp Band. They can bond with any Pokemon on the field without the aid of their warp band, so long as they can present a good reason for the enemy to do so.
Children of the Verdant Forest will be especially affected, and during this log they will have a sharp increase in their empathic feelings. They will feel the pain of the cloned Pokemon before them, the pain of being “lesser” beings, incomplete, and the pain of the knowledge that their lives will soon end, the process that created them being unable to sustain their lives.
Kindred Souls will have some empathic ability, but to a lesser degree than Children of the Verdant Forest as outlined above]

But it doesn't stop him from smiling further as he steps up to stand beside the others. "Yeah, we did all those things, and more. But we didn't do it alone - at least, not all of it. Our allies from Caldera help us fight. So d0 the Valkyries and those from Glacier. Magi from Sanctuary lend their magical aid to us, and even Refuge folks helped us rebuild after the last time we got attacked. Even the Gods help us, like one of them is now." He nods upward in the direction of 'The Origin'.
"You wanna know why? Because we learned from the past. We know better than to harm Pokemon like you guys were. We don't use those abominations anymore...those Poke-balls. We bond with our Pokemon. No...we're friends with them. That's our strength - our bonds of friendship and hope. And no matter how dark things seem, we'll always find a way to bring hope to everyone."
He taps the side of his head. "Even if you can't see it now...we can. Even if the Image's not clear enough, we'll always see the dawn of hope at the end of every dark night. People know that. They trust us to keep doing that. And we're not going to stop doing that. Because we wouldn't be Union otherwise. We'll be disappointing everyone if we ever did. So, if you still wanna fight us, you're gonna have a helluva time defeating us. But if you want us to help you instead...we got the right folks who are willing to give it a try."
And yet...and yet, there's tiny whiffs of darkness that seems to be trailing off of his wings...

She'll let the group try this, however. If it still wants to fight after seeing this much, well, Union on full display - then there's no helping it. It has a right to make its own decisions.
And Haruka got what she was after, anyway. Greninja is on the ground.

Too reasonable. This was almost a deal it couldn't believe to be real.
Put your blades away, it huffed. You lot are too optimistic, but I see your point.
As for the rest, though....it couldn't say.

"I'm glad. I'm also sorry for the challenges, but I don't know any other way to convey that I'm being serious.
She nods to the Greninja, respectfully. "May we pass on to see your leader?"
no subject
But Trainer is being good, and cautious. Trainer is positioning her Rhyhorn so that should they be allowed to pass, she'll be passing closest to the frog. Just in case.
It's not holding a grudge so much as it's just being smart, okay?

It looks like this particular situation is diffused for the moment but there's still the bigger problem of the army of Pokemon and their leader. Harry picks up his staff, keeping the point to the ground and crosses the remaining distance to the Greninja.
"We've still got work to do though. We still have to get to your boss and try to convince him that there's a better way to wrap this up that ends with everybody seeing tomorrow. We could use some help to get that done." He holds out his right hand to the Pokemon, the psychic field carrying a simple offer with the handshake: partnership. Equal terms. It's not a request for Hops to turn on his people or fight them, just to help them try to convince them. "What do you say?"
no subject
'Equal terms' was something it appreciated-- after all, they weren't tools or 'slaves' as some termed it. They were sentient beings as well.
It was good to be recognized.
You'll get no help or hindrance from me, it grumbled, but the Boss isn't as likely to listen to pretty speeches, or give you a chance to talk.

Of course, every second she spends thinking and not moving is also a second where everything could fall apart, so she'll trust the back of her mind to do the thinking. Brilliance rumbles thanks back whence they came, and then the Rhyhorn breaks into a run.
They've been lucky. They have to finish this before that luck turns.
Bonding attempt is go just to specify.
"I don't think anybody came out here with speeches in mind but here we are." He raised his eyebrows, widening his eyes. "Freaky, isn't it? That's good enough though."
He released the handshake after a moment and turned back to his Pokemon.
"Let's go." The three he had on the field moved. Gawain paused to snap a respectful salute to Hops, Mouse gave him a nod and a friendly huff, while Lash glided past, lifting her chin cooly. Harry hefted his staff and prepared to move on as well, pausing. "I make it through this, feel free to look me up. Lunch is on me."
And I hope nobody minds this happening...
"You sure? I mean, we could use your help--" He's cut off by a sudden wave of pain washing over him. He doubles over, cringing as he blinding grabs at the nearest being for support. At the same time, an aura of energy begins to radiate from him. Those who have evolved Pokemon, or have evolved themselves, may recognize such energies.
Oh dear...
You'll get used to it-- and those words are all the help you'll get from me.
Because it was no fool. You don't fail a mission that the Boss gave you and not expect retribution if you face the terrible Psychic again.
Levelling it's gaze on Harry once more, it simply huffed in a way that could have passed as amused.
If this ends in your favor, I may consider that. Make sure there's those Puffs too. The big ones.
Seems that Froggy had a sweet tooth-- but consider it a done deal.
You may pass, and may you succeed in the next battle.
