The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!

[Michiru sounds grim as she shifts a little on Uranus the Salamence, trying to see.]

Not if we can help it.

[Rapidash and Reuniclus are down on the ground with Rhyperior. Noivern seems ill at ease, trying to fly as close to Salamence (and Trainer) as possible, despite Vaporeon's barking. Gardevoir is with Michiru, casting a Light Screen. A mental prod from Michiru gets Reuniclus start off with a Reflect.]

AURORA! [Ami pointed to the icicles while the Luxray shot out bolts of Thunder Fang to turn the massive falling icicles into much smaller pieces. Meanwhile, Ami put up a massive and dense wall, using Ice Beam around the small group.]

We can't keep staying in this one spot. I say we go with Rei's plan to move them to the shrine if evacuation crews can't get them safely out of Union.

Good plan-- I'll tell my scout to head that way while I find more to bring along.

This was madness. This was insane. Waver was positively fuming over this, but he knew that he needed to stay calm. Though he was still little more than just a secretary, he was still with the Rangers-- and people looked to those wearing that coat for guidance in times of trouble.

Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Waver continued ushering people out of the way.

"Orpheus," he said to his little Foongus. "Go get Cass and tell her the change in orders. We're going toward the Vale."

Relief. That's the first thing she feels, relief that she is not alone out here. Not that any of them wish to be, not at a time like this.

Here they are, and here they cannot stay. Travelling together as a group would be safer. We will head to the end of the street, and wait for everyone there. My group numbers five adults, including myself, and three children. No serious injuries.. But no one had gone unscathed. In her arms, the bulbasaur stirred but hadn't come out of his Stunned state yet.

From behind Martin's group, a Honedge that had been shadowing them splits away, speeding ahead as fast as Autotomize can manage. The idiot bird can take its own sweet time, but Ymir was going to find Sophia now.

Dragonite, Lucario, Blaziken, Metagross, Rhyperior

[Normally, Pamela involves herself in negotiations. Or coordinating things. But today, Sveta has made the mistake of attacking their home. Much as she does care about the well being of others, she can't deny that there's a stronger feeling to defend one's own - human and Pokemon alike.

She's currently in the air on Morning Glory the Dragonite while the rest are on the ground below. At some point when it won't risk Morning Glory, the gloves will come off (both literally and figuratively) - especially if she can get a clear shot at Sveta with her poison.]

I'm going to make sure that the forest itself rejects her.

[She might not have the power of a god in that respect, but she does have a very strong affinity for plants - not only in accelerated growth, but also in being able to get them to come to her aid in ways plants normally couldn't. Even if Grass types are at a disadvantage against an Ice type, Pamela still has every intention of making sure Sveta gets backhanded by a tree at least once. Rough as this is going to be, at least Sveta revealed her typing. That helped Pamela decide which of her team to bring to fight with her, versus which she asked to help the community at large amid all the chaos.

Daffodil the Lucario starts off with Calm Mind and Marigold the Blaziken immediately follows up with Focus Energy.]

[Oh hell no, don't you touch that forge you winged pop-cicle.]

[Hayato all but throws ...what is that? A ball? No, that's his Darumaka that sends it's own Fire Fang to help Aurora scatter the ice.]

[Once she's landed, he scoops her up, leaping with the blessing of the gods under his feet from one tower ledge to another to make his way over to the Forge.]

Fuji and Nikon can both help with getting people to safety!

[They'll do better on the ground, especially since he has to move so fast. he's not got a flyer so he's relying on his own speed (and what the gods gave him, thanks guys). Goro clings to his coat and Cyclone floats after him. He pulls up a quick Iron Defense in the event of having to be more of a meatshield than antcipated.]

Edward! Flamethrower!

[The Litleo's oddly powerful jet of flame joins the other attacks in scattering the ice from the back of the Mega Charizard. Saber, meanwhile, focuses on her own Iron Defense - if there's one thing a Doublade can be expected to do, it's take a hit.]

While the hardest hit areas were closest to the Signal Tower, the residential district was in utter chaos. Mothers, fathers, children, all trying to gather up a few last creature comforts before areas were cordoned off, trying desperately to make their way back to their homes before the coming storm; their shouts, their cries echoed through the streets.

Seeing Chie and Gordon, the group was waved through quickly, given specific directions--get people moving as soon as possible. While the great ice dragon circled in the sky, raining down destruction around the other districts, it was hard to say how long it would take before the mighty god looked for another target. These pockets of activity were far too dangerous.

Directed toward one of the larger building housing a number of flats, the halls were packed with people and things, thrown about haphazardly in haste. Other Swords stood at the ready, trying to help families gather their things and get out as soon as possible, but there were more than a few stragglers.

[Between the roar and the team tandem of Swablu and Gallade, Yuuna's got no trouble locating the thing. And unlike usual, she doesn't just go barrelling into a fight. She gestures to the Pokemon all around her, ordering the squad to fan out as they get within firing distance.]

Good, Koki, get up a Light Screen. And if anyone has a Pokemon that can put up a Reflect, I think we're going to need layered shields.

We've got to hit it very hard, very fast. Don't hold back. More dots!

[The Gallade complies, focusing and projecting a muted glow all around the assembled gang in a Reflect. Crouching, Yuuna scurries down one alleyway and crouches at the end of it, waiting on the huge Pokemon to walk on by. Hoping to remain hidden, she sends out a psychic command to her biggest Pokemon. Kyo, the Tyranitar, her first bondmate from her first adventure...steps out of another alleyway and with it's titanic strength rips up a section of crumbled building and hurls it right at the god's back! Hopefully this thing was just Ice/Dragon, because it's getting a potentially super effective Stone Edge tossed it's way!]

[The great dragon god spares barely a glance at the team. Understanding their intent, it instead unleashes a Blizzard, the howling gale of ice and snow slashing through the city with the force far greater than an storm and the ice promising a cold, icy tomb as it speeds toward the team.]

[Feliks nudges his Rapidash to go as fast as he can, guides him through the streets to circle around directly behind the dragon. The moment they've got a clear shot, Feliks nudges Jadwiga, who leans around his side to let out a Moonblast. At the same time, he raises one hand away from the Rapidash's neck and lets loose with a Fire Blast, trying to draw the god's attention back away from the residential district. He can feel Entei and Moltres's power blazing in him, boosting the strength of the attack, melting away any trace of fear and hesitation in that moment.]

[Sveta might have a god on her side, but she's got another thing coming if she thinks she's the only one.]

[The great dragon's foot slams into the ground, sending an enormous earthquake through the city. Huge cracks spread across several of the residential towers, and the sound of terrified screaming can be heard as one of the catwalks crumbles and begins to fall, with several Union citizens falling with it!]

Understood. The shrine and the Kurain school have deep cellars -- make sure to pass that along to anyone going on ahead.

If only all of those surrounding her could be as easily reassured, though most were fretting about missing family. Of course, the loss of the network and the assault on the city would send anyone's nerves to pieces on top of that. Raine finds a small block of stone to climb up on, to put her head above the group. As much as she doesn't like to draw attention to herself, it's necessary right now.

"Please listen to me! The more of you that can get to safety now will give us more time to go back for the others. Staying here like this will only hold up that process--"

-- She hardly gets the words out before the earthquake rolls through, which completely rattles her gathering of people and sends Raine falling to the ground.

Sylveon, Persian, Staraptor, Chingling, Skitty, Doublade

I agree. We have to protect what we can.

[Out of Minako's party, the Sylveon, Persian, and Staraptor seemed the most serious about this. The others were more reluctant, and in various ways. Doublade was in awe of the gods, Skitty didn't want to get dirty, and Chingling was too busy hiding in Minako's hair.]

It's odd... to see two dragon gods with... human partners.

We should be careful, though. Sveta wasn't alone. She had another friend with her.

[Perhaps he's put some thought into this, maybe he's just the sort of person for whom this comes naturally, but Jim calls out to the stragglers.]

If it can be replaced, leave it! Your families can't!

[Not particularly hopeful, but to the point. That said, he helps those families he can get what they don't think can be replaced, but with a mind towards moving people to safety as quickly as possible, the elderly man's eyes glancing back to the circling dragon with a mix of contempt, anger, and wariness. Even as his pokémon help the families evacuate, they do the same, some looking with more anger, others more wariness. But they have a job to do, and all the pokémon Gordon has with him have been with him long enough to know what that job is.]

Houndoom, Duskull, Rotom, Absol, Mightyena, Pidove

[After the confrontation in Glacier, Duo'd been waiting for another 'rogue' god to come calling. It should be interesting, to say the least.]

Let's do this, guys.

[The Absol, Mightyena, and Pidove were his newest that had responded to this one with him, and the Rotom was a bit flakey, but they'd been the easiest to get to come to him without the Warp Band, and he had several really low leveled Pokemon right now. He didn't want to risk them in this fight.

Pidove, Rotom, and Duskull all took to the air. As they did that, Houndoom attacked with Flamethrower and Duo used his Bullet Punch gun. Absol and Mightyena used the moment to move into position.]

Pangoro and Tropius

While Kyosuke attacked from one side, Morgiana circled around to strike at the opposite flank with a both heels in a flying kick.

Overhead was a rather ungainly combination of a Tropius struggling to maintain her current elevation while holding up the bulk of a Pangoro. They were waiting until the humans had the dragon sufficiently distracted for a successful bellyflop attack.

The thunderous shockwave caught Ahri unaware as she was carrying a child along with their siblings in tow. The rolling of the earth sent her tumbling to the ground along with the child and she had to catch herself to not fall atop of her.

The children cried and shrieked in terror and they ran around confused. Reorganizing herself, Ahri stood up quickly and helped the girl up as she looked to the others. "Stop! You need to come this way to safety. Follow the Pokemon you've come to trust, they haven't led you astray before!" And sure enough some of the other Pokemon Kid and Karthy had gathered were trying to help the children off. She wouldn't blame them for thinking twice about it considering what was going on but...

As the children began to follow the others, Ahri didn't have time to contemplate what was happening as she noticed the catwalk crumbling in the distance. Those people... Even with her Spirit Rush she wouldn't reach them in time. But even as she thought that a golden glow enveloped her as she gave it her all to reach them... She just hoped someone was closer than her...

Huh...? The plan? Uh-

[Chie isn't used to so many people looking to her for leadership, so she's privately very relieved when Gordon steps up to take the reins. While she's a seasoned fighter, this sort of thing isn't exactly something she has a lot of experience with. She's still a pretty low-ranking member, after all.]

Right! Make sure everyone in your group stays together, and follow us!

Yes. Right. Shields. Okay.

[Big battles like this are always so overwhelming. Why do the gods have to be so huge? All the same, Merrill summons her Carbink and Gigalith to aid in the assault.]

Lyrium, help Yuuna defend. Varterral, hold out as long as you can against the dragon.

[Lyrium the Carbink summons up a Light Screen of its own, gems shining brilliantly in the midday sun. As for Varterral the Gigalith, it goes on the offensive, manipulating some of the falling debris to send it right back at the dragon god in a devastating Rock Slide.]

[ Something appears to be headed for its legs. Several somethings, on fact. Many of which are on fire.

Kyurem registers the movement out of the corner of its eye. Then, without even turning its head fully - its gaze is focused towards the sky, where it'd last seen the other dragons, and where the Habitat towers above the city - it sways rhythmically, side to side, and takes a step forward so that Morgiana's attack will miss.

This field is not to its liking yet. Perhaps a Rain Dance will fix that, dwindling all Fire-attacks headed for Kyurem to half their former strength. So while the others' attacks will hit, it...doesn't seem too bothered just yet.

Also, have fun flying in the rain. ]

Ah, sorry guys, I should have brought another friend. Hang on. If anyone else can put up a weather effect, especially Sunlight, doing it now would be great.

[Rise sends out a psychic missive to her Ninetales, asking her to report to the battlefield. Since the Warp Bands aren't functional, though, it will be awhile before she can arrive.]

[While Toyo puts up a Reflect to finished protecting the group, Himiko gathers up the remaining moonlight making it through the clouds and forms it into power, launching the distinctive sparkling beam of a Moonblast toward Kyurem's center of mass.]

The rain is troublesome, but at least no offensive move has been made - yet. Kyosuke unloads the entirety of his Revolver Stake into the Dragon before launching a Claymore mine that explodes into a bunch of steel balls further up the dragon's body and disengaging

[Speaking of Kyurem, wow, it's not a patient creature.

Then again, just standing around and strategizing is kind of silly. Maka's wings dissipate, the light spreading out into a Light Screen across the party.]

Baldwin, go find anyone that needs help and bring them to the shrine! [The Golurk complies, jetting off to search around. At least it can avoid any attacks in the air, for now Maka is picked up by Wilbur and placed on his shoulders. They can't stay in one place, so it's time to move on out of here.]
