Around dinner time, all active Warp Bands come to life, a familiar visitor’s face flooding into view. Sveta looks to be broadcasting from a small, furnished room, likely provided by the council for temporary lodging. The lamplight flickers, and she takes a deep breath, smiling. She can hardly contain her excitement as she begins to speak.

“Hello citizens of Union! As you may know, my name is Sveta, a member of the Elite Four from the distant city of Ever Grande. I, along with my colleague Alina and a few others, came to you a few days ago after hearing the stories of your people, and after speaking at length with those around your beautiful city. I can say now with the utmost conviction that we wish for the same world, a place where pokémon and humans can live together in peace and prosperity. We do not have to be governed by the mistakes of the past; we can walk forward, hand-in-hand, toward a perfect and just future.

“The Gods have brought us together, the people of Ever Grande and the people of Union. I believe that now with every fiber of my being! This is divine fate, it is destiny, and we cannot ignore its call!”

Standing, the view shifts, and her expression changes slightly. While still animated, her eyes flash with excitement, and a bit of disdain.

“But there are those who would stand in our way. They place humanity’s needs first, believe that they are the true inheritors of the earth. That was the type of hubris that nearly eradicated the human race from existence. They deserved that fate. Humanity torched the soil, molded it, corrupted it, poisoned it. They attempted to play God, and they were punished for their transgressions.

The Elite Four will not stand for those that might repeat history to rise again. We, along with the people of Union, will act out the Gods’ will, for we are their chosen. It is our job, no, our duty to educate those who do not wish to see the error of their ways—if not with words, than with action. Those who oppose us will see a quick, merciless end; it is the only way.”
Throwing her arms out for emphasis, the icy crystal holding her hair back glows, and frosty fractals begin to materialize on the molding around her room. Her breath comes out in puffs as her energy level reaches a crescendo.

“That we were born in the same era is a blessing of the Gods themselves! Friends, let us create peace together, one where pokémon can live together in peace and harmony! There is no better time than now. We stand on the precipice of change, and together we can soar toward a brave new world!”

And with that, the feed ends.

[ Haruka manages to hear the whole broadcast from her Warp Band, for once. When Sveta's done speaking, she doesn't switch it on to reply. Just sits in silence, thinking.

Then she gets up and heads deeper into the dorms. Her Fire-type is around here somewhere, and they need to have a discussion.

Theater people whom she passes: she may very well not acknowledge noticing you. ]

[Rise pauses her own response to the missive while she gets her composure back. Haruka stalking by is, if not exactly reassuring, at least an indication that someone's on the same page as she is.]

So...this is gonna be trouble, huh?

I need you close enough to scan her.

[ Or maybe you already did. Who knows.

She's also not going to point out that right out of the gate the first thing she's doing is trusting Rise, but they don't need to go over that, do they? It's sappy. ]

Already did! It works through the Warp Band.

[She looks downcast being reminded of Sveta's power.]

...she's on the same level as the Dragon God's human friend was. Ice/Ghost/Dark typing, and her 'blessing' was something I've never seen before. She's someone who could cause a lot of damage even by herself, let alone with Pokémon or a whole city backing her.

[ Haruka nods, which is probably as close to "thank you" as you're going to get while she's thinking. ] Might not be a coincidence.

[ In which case she's been beaten to the punch. Again. She wanted to find their stronghold first.

...that's done. She won't regret it. ] We won't attack first. But prepare for the worst if she doesn't leave quietly.

I'm not the kind of Psychic who can see the future, but I've got a really bad feeling about this.

Then get ready faster. [ So does Haruka. ]

[ She just got back to Union last night. WHAT EVEN HAPPENED. WHO LET THIS PERSON IN.

Watching the announcement as she works in the kitchen, she sees Haruka stalk through the hall. Putting her wooden spoon down, the priestess rushes toward the doorway. ]

Haruka?

[ Haruka keeps walking. But she speaks up. ]

Was everything normal outside the city? [ And is it unfair to wish Sanae had delayed returning?

Yes. Yes it is. Sanae is one of them and deserves to make a contribution even if Haruka wants to keep her safe. ]

[ She wasn't so weak that she needed to be protected. She was part of the DDF too, after all, and while she could easily fight on her own, she was never alone--she had Takuto by her side, more often than not. ]

I didn't notice anything different, but we flew most of the way there and back. I didn't hear anything while I was in Citadel.

[ A pause. ]

We should probably make sure the regular workers here are safe.

[ She wasn't the smartest out there, it was true, but even she could see the writing on the wall. Something bad was likely going to happen, and they needed to protect their own. ]

We have some extra supplies in the storerooms too, right? Like water and medical gear?

[ Haruka nods: people who are better at details than she is tend to look after those areas. They're well-stocked. ] Distribute it now.

[ By the time they know they'll need it, there won't be time left to fetch it. ] And send me Passion if you see her.

[ Yes, Passion. The Ninetales who recently waited the entire Salvation season outside in the snow for a Delibird to deliver her a present that never came.

What? Sveta was sparking ice. ]

[ Sanae nods, hesitating for a moment. ]

You want to follow her, then?

Do you think she'll leave quietly?

[ For that matter, do you think she'll leave? Haruka doesn't need to be listening to replies to know how Union's going to react.

Which she doubts will convince their guest. ]

[ Her eyes lower slightly before the young priestess shakes her head. No. Even she wasn't naive enough to believe that.

Looking up, her frown grew. ]

But I don't want to go after her until I know she intends to hurt others here. I don't... I don't want to fight here, in Union.

[ Citadel or Caldera, sure. They could take it. But Union... ]

We can have someone follow her once she leaves.

[ Haruka nods. ] Be ready.

[ Before she leaves. If she leaves.

Haruka wishes she could believe Sveta's going to leave. ]
