Iron Mines:
The trip to the eastern mountains is punctuated by the continuing aftershocks. After each one, it may be tempting to glance back at Union to see if any of the towers have fallen yet. The expedition parties move with incredible speed, knowing that the fate of their City hangs on the line.
When they reach the mountains, guided by the coordinates given of the 'strange radio signal', the parties will find that many of the normal entrances and routes have been blocked by cave-ins. In contrast, however, a gaping hole has opened up where none existed before. As this seems to be the easiest way to gain access, the parties slowly lower themselves in...
They will find themselves in the long-sought iron mines.
But there are so many twisting turns and tunnels, it will be impossible to stay together and make any sort of progress. Each group will have to take their own paths from here...
Old City:
Each of the twelve entrances down into the Old City take a different meandering route through the ruins. Though several are blocked off by this time, there are still many potential paths to take. The state of the Old City is poor, being underground as it is, and occasional soft rumblings are certain to cause unease. As the report states, however, there is enough of an interval between quakes that it should be possible to investigate safely.
It would be unwise to venture down alone, but it is impossible, too, for everyone to stay together if they wish to make headway.
Union:
The wild Pokémon continue to come out of the Old City, though the frequency has been somewhat lessened. Rubble lines the streets and though no towers have collapsed as of yet, some seem to be dangerously close and certainly nobody should be staying inside of them. As stated, the towers in Sector 3 are the worse off and construction crews work frantically to attempt to restabilize the foundations of these buildings.
The injured are innumerable, the number of casualties is as of yet unknown, and the chaos and panic is difficult to fend off.
There is a great deal of work to be done.
((Please post below with your groups - in the first comment, please note the members of your group, where you are, and whether or not you intend to keep a threading order. Regardless of threading order, mods will be responding at least once every 24 hours to keep the event moving. Groups should be three to four people in size.
At this time, all characters entering the iron mines will be able to choose to bond with a free extra Pokemon listed under 'Cavern' in the Map and Wild Pokemon post. Please respond there if you intend to make use of this. Characters who have already claimed a free Old City Pokemon may not do so.))

[ "How do you think we should proceed" Jade had asked, but she hadn't answered then. Because the conversation has moved away from her and things seemed to have gotten more complicated. ]
Honestly, I fig we try to take that thing out. If we can't knock it out [or kill it, but if it's under the effect of the machine, they might want its information...] we can keep it off the prof here. Ideally, we can drop some rocks on its head.

[To demontrate, Elly holds a hand up. A fireball crackles off it, the vanishes.]
no subject
[He nods in agreement with Elly's idea.]
Try to avoid that if possible. Melaka and I can lure it out into this cavern, while you and Dr Flemming sneak past. Oh, and it may be wise to leave your Pokemon here. Duskull told me being too near the machine is painful for them.
Melaka, are you ready?
no subject
If I can't shut it down, making it shut down could be fast.
Just... try and make it so it's possible to repair in the event we can transport it at some point.

I'll do my best, Doctor.

[ She had begun to do some stretches as the rest of them reached the tail end of that conclusion. But hey, she's ready to rock here. ... Sneak is too, but she actually is a bit more wary ]
no subject
I'll take point. While Colonel Curtiss and Melaka do that, we're charging directly for the machine.
[She waits, back in the tunnel, for them to do that -- then she's going to bolt for the machine.]

The cavern stretches before them. They will receive a glimpse of the body and legs of the creature as it smashes once more into the wall - it falls away for a moment, stunned. If there is time to make a move, it's now.]

[ Melaka mutters that to herself and waits for Jade to get the thing's attention before she moves in - planning to intercept it when it moves to attack them. That seems like a logical way to handle it ]
no subject
[Elly's shout is worried, but that worry doesn't stop her. When Jade and Melaka move to get its attention -- and it seems distracted, which is even better -- Elly bolts. She runs, leading the way for Doctor Flemming with a rapid charge towards the machine itself.]
no subject
Is he even going to be able to stop it? If it's old technology, he's not so sure.]

A wild Tyrantrum has appeared! But as it staggers towards them, a gleam of light runs down its body...
The shiny Tyrantrum strikes! It launches forward to try and snap down on Jade and Melaka with its jaws!
Fortunately they seem to have bought the other two the distraction they needed. Unfortunately, as it launches forward, its lashing tail slams dangerously close to Flemming and Elly.]

[ Jade'll cover her, she's sure. For her part though, she cocks a fist back and rushes towards the dinosaur, forgoing worries about the jaws after dodging the initial snap alongside jade so she can rush in and try to land a solid punch on it. If she can get to focus on her, Jade can attack it and the other two can be safe after she kites it some.
... Sneak, meanwhile, is just alarmed at her trainer's recklessness there ]
no subject
Thankfully he's rather skinny so there's not much weight, but he's also tall and goes down like a tree as he stumbles.]
no subject
[Down Elly goes, hitting the floor. She grunts and rolls once, before she looks up at the shiny Tyrantrum. Then she looks back at the Doctor, then she nods.]
Thanks.

Elly and Flemming, whenever they've recovered, can approach the machine with relative ease. It is covered in dials and buttons and displays that are doubtlessly a bit overwhelming - but here and there, they might be able to work out some recognizable words. The script is unusual and bears less of a resemblance to the script seen from relics found within the Old City. It seems to be a relative of the common dialect in Union. Words that resemble 'Power' and 'Dispersion' can be made out on certain dials.
no subject
Can she trip something that big with a Low Kick? she doubt it. But she'll try! ]
no subject
This dial says power, I think. I'm going to try turning it off.
[If the good doctor doesn't protest, she does just that; she turns the dial to zero. And crosses her fingers. And hopes.]
no subject
[Sandshrew also helps in the attack, using Rollout to send boulders towards the Tyrantrum.]
no subject
Let's hope this works...
no subject
It is unclear how much the psychic powers and Rollout would have helped as, at the moment Elly turns down the dial, a blank look suddenly washes across Tyrantrum's face and it simply takes the attacks without response.
Any Pokemon out at the moment would be able to report that the sound had stopped.]
