[After visiting the council and seeking permission to stay in Union City, Renko was more than pleased with their answer. They'd even given her one of those Warp Band devices she'd seen most people around the city wear. Needless to say, she looks thrilled once she gets it all figured out and starts recording.]

Hey, this thing isn't as hard to figure out as I thought it would be! That's great!

So it's pretty obvious that I'm not from around here. That aside, my name's Renko Usami, and I've decided to stay here! It's quite a bit different than what I'm used to in most ways.

[She pauses for a moment, debating what to say next, all the while counting the seconds away in her head. She needed to make a good impression on these people. She hoped she was doing a good job.]

I'd really like to learn more about all of you. Your stories, culture, technology, any of it, really. Is there a library I can check out? Other than that, any advice at all would be appreciated, especially with exploring some of the areas outside the city. It didn't seem so bad on the way here, but I was in a group then. I'm guessing going solo would be a very different experience.

Anyway, that's it for now. Thank you for allowing me to stay in your city.

Fascinating. I've known this was possible but until now Flux's Psychic tenacity was not at a level high enough for telepathic communication.

[Laurent is sitting with his books on screen as usual, but it seems he's deemed this moment fantastic enough to document for future reference. He's writing in his journal, but his Solosis is sitting on the desk in front of him looking ... a bit pained in concentration. If observed closely, Laurent's own expression is quirked in the same fashion.]

I'm unsure if the phenomenon is singular to my own Pokemon companions, all Psychic Pokemon, or any number of groups, but Solosis's thoughts become my own if concentrated on. Of course, he lacks the level of comprehension as of yet to understand why... But it is my belief that all Psychic types and Psychic inclined Enlighteneds can obtain this ability. My mother's own research is proof enough. It's still arduous to grasp his feelings in this way, however. I am still unsure as what it is he wants, as his thoughts are subject to change so quickly... Truly, his nature proceeds him. Quiet, yet finicky.

[He stops writing a moment, placing his hand against his forehead and thinking on it hard. Then, he looks a little... disappointed.]

... I already fed you all today. Just because you can tell me directly now doesn't mean you get a second helping...

[The last few days have seen a rash of petty theft across the city. Not money very often, but lots of food and brightly colored or shiny things. They're sometimes matched up with sightings of some kind of monkey-like pokemon with a burning tail. Probably not a MAJOR problem in the grand scheme of things, but it's certainly annoying. Especially to someone who just had their lunch stolen while they were getting napkins.

There's also occasional encounters of direct contact that don't have anything to do with theft. They go something like this:

You were walking down the street when the pokemon (Which looks oddly human at the moment.) drops down upside down in front of you, hanging upside down on to a rafter or something by it's tail.]

[Someone has stolen Armin's Warp Band! Gasp!

It's a very-recently-evolved Meredith, who is going to preen in front of the video screen for a while, from her place perched on a tree branch. Where is she? Where is Armin? Anyone's guess.

After a pause, the Kirlia will smile wickedly and swing the camera bit around to show a little lost Espurr standing at the base of the tree, making sad baby sounds. Meredith is shirking babysitting.]

[ And here in video land we have displayed... Melaka! And also here whole collection . So we have Tiny the Aron, Sneak the Phantump, Slugger the Donphan, Lurks the Croagunk, Brownie the Mankey, Shiram the Charmander, Queenie the Machop, Trooper the Silcoon (who looks mildly annoyed to have been moved), and Shimmer the Finneon, who is in a movable water tank, given they are in what appears to be the Pokemon Habitat designed for ground types. The two babies (Shiram and Queenie) are being watched over by Lurks. Trooper is sitting next to Shimmer's tank, who is just watching the proceedings. Brownie appears to be trying to pick a fight with Tiny, but it's not working. And Sneak and Slugger are both flanking Melaka on both sides. The video pans around to show all of them, but finally settles on Slugger. Who trumpets a triumphant elephant trumpet!! ]

Who'd have thought I'd have nine of 'em?

[ Seriously, ten weeks ago she didn't even have one partner... But she exhales at that, before patting Slugger on the head as a little thanks. Carefully using the hand not with the Warp Band on its wrist so the video shows that. She's getting better about it! ]

Slugger here was the first to evolve. Just did it yesterday, so it was a big shock. [ And the video now shifts to focus on Sneak, who is frowning a little ] ... Don't worry, Sneak, I'm sure you'll be second. [ The Phantump sighs at that, but nods all the same. Neither of them are aware how or even if Phantump evolve.

Either way, Melaka settles into a sitting position now, and shifts the video to her face. She grins at the feed, and- ]

So I've got one of two long treks I was going to go on, and I'm looking for a group willing to go with me. One of 'em's to go down deeper into those Iron Mines we found a while back to find a bigger snacks for the chubby one [ she means her Aron, and jerks her thumb off-camera in its direction] and the others to look more into why the Scorched Forest never seems to stop being hot. Apparently, the council wants to find "conductive" elements [ or something like that. Some technical crap ] at both of those sites, so win-win. Thing is, 'cus I'm going deeper there, I'd like some backup and maybe some experts to help with the Council's call. Anyone up for it?

[ And if anyone wants to ignore that to comment on the pokemon, they can. Or if anyone wants to run into them in an action bit, they can too ]

Bar Crawlin'

It's Friday night and Ezreal decided to take the esteemed Luxanna Crownguard to a bar generally frequented by Delvers, Guardsmen, Rangers, and all sorts of other rough-and-tumble men and women who make up Union's thriving blue-collar community. The bar, of course, is quite a dive, with loud, boisterous people having just finished a day's work coming to take a load off and get frightfully hammered.

[This is an open mingle post for anybody who might, for whatever reason, find themselves in a dirty, grimy bar full of loud sweaty people on a Friday night. There will be mingling and, of course, the inevitable bar fight. Enlightened are encouraged to use their powers interestingly but remember - no lethal damage! It's all in good fun. Overenthusiastic enlightened may find themselves responsible for large chunks of the repair bill for the bar, be warned.

Also of note: legal drinking age is 18 years old but this bar is likely reasonably easy to get into if you're a bit underage.]

SIDEQUEST; Investigate the mountain!

Date: Saturday the 15th of March
Plot Description: Newbie Rangers Eren and Jean investigate the mysterious signal jam in the high mountains. WHAT WILL THEY FIND??? And will they be able to work together to solve the problem?! (Probably not)
Warnings/Notes: None at the moment.

It was an easy enough assignment. There was warp band network interference in the high mountains. Go there, figure out what it was, and, if possible, fix it. Eren is accompanied by Blitz the jolteon, Matilda the scraggy, and Victor the lombre (somewhat hungover from his bar adventure the night before). Eren didn't want to risk being unprepared and unable to warp any of his Pokémon in if he needed their help, so he'd selected some of his strongest.

The hike up the mountains is mostly uneventful. Eren turns to Jean, "Do you think we should split up?"

[Pamela looks rather proud, and she's got her newly evolved Gloom sitting on her lap. Glancing down, she dabs at Clover's mouth. While she's in the minority that doesn't mind the smell, she still doesn't want the honey dribbling from her Gloom's mouth to get on her furniture. Nonetheless, she gives Clover a reassuring pat.

Her Budew, Basil, and her Magikarp, Sweet Pea are in the background. Sweet Pea is resting in a large basin of water.]

I'd like to arrange for travel companions sometime in the near future, if anyone's interested in joining me for an exploration and some research.
