001 [Video] Backdated to March 14th

[Pamela looks rather proud, and she's got her newly evolved Gloom sitting on her lap. Glancing down, she dabs at Clover's mouth. While she's in the minority that doesn't mind the smell, she still doesn't want the honey dribbling from her Gloom's mouth to get on her furniture. Nonetheless, she gives Clover a reassuring pat.

Her Budew, Basil, and her Magikarp, Sweet Pea are in the background. Sweet Pea is resting in a large basin of water.]

I'd like to arrange for travel companions sometime in the near future, if anyone's interested in joining me for an exploration and some research.

[Clover pipes up, bouncing in Pamela's lap.]

Don't worry, honey, I didn't forget you. I also wanted to congratulate Clover on her first evolution.

[Her Budew pouts a little in the background.]

Don't worry, Basil, I'm sure you'll be evolving soon enough.

Shadowy forests and night travel are fine by me. I'm researching plant life.

Ohhh, for fun or for science.

But... don't most plans like the daylight better?

Why not both? And while it's true that most prefer the daylight, that doesn't mean that there isn't useful research to be gained at night.

Well, I find fun has a lot less rules than science does.

Oh, I don't know about that. Some games have quite a lot of rules.

Oh, well... when and where. And what you're looking to research?

I'm actually open to traveling to a variety of places, as long as there's some plant life around for me to research.

[globetrotting]

Oh! So it's just for whenever you or one of us find or hear about anywhere with interesting plant life? That sounds fine.

[toxicrevenger]

More or less. It's best to be flexible. I do a lot of research on my own, but it's nice to have company. Well...human company, since I can't really converse with Pokemon.

[globetrotting]

Sounds perfect with me. If you're big into researching too, it must take up a lot of time as well.

Anyway, my name's Blue if I haven't said so yet. I'm not too knowledgeable about plants, but I'll be happy to help when I can, even if it's only getting a sample or helping to keep everyone safe.

Thank you. I've had Clover since before she hatched...so I'm proud of her for coming this far.

And your budew- Basil? Have you had her for long?

[It's just then that Basil pipes up with an indignant sound, immediately after Blue says 'her'. Pamela gives him a little reassuring pat.]

I've had him since I started traveling and exploring. Sweet Pea is the newest one of my pokemon.

[globetrotting]

Ah! [She puts her hand to her mouth, embarrassed.]

I'm so sorry, I should know better than that. [Though she doesn't know exactly where Basil is in the room (but close by to Pamela, Blue imagines), she looks to a different part of the screen-]

I'm sorry, Basil!

[There's almost a reluctantly forgiving sound off to the side from Basil, acknowledging that Blue didn't call him a female on purpose.]

It's okay. Basil knows he's a handsome boy.

I must have gotten confused... [Talking about Clover and all.] But really, that's no excuse.

[But she won't belabour the point.] Anyway, you and your pokémon have reminded me that I haven't bonded with a grass type. Would your research include learning more about plant type pokémon?

[toxicrevenger]

That's one of my research goals, yes. I'm a grass/poison type myself, so that's been an issue of personal as well as academic research.

[It's always best to know little things like that.]

[globetrotting]

An Enlightened! I see. Well, I'll take down your contact info and you can take mine - and we can chat whenever something comes up?

I shouldn't be all that surprised that you'd gravitate towards grass Pokemon... But what's with the fish?

Hello again, Dr. Robotnik. The fish is named Sweet Pea, and she'll evolve into a Gyrados soon enough.

[That's right, she'll have a huge, fierce looking water/flying type Pokemon and she named it Sweet Pea of all things.]

[The name sounds familiar. ... Oh, gosh. That foul creature in fairy tales involving sailors. A dread fills the Doctor.]

That wide-eyed little guppy? THAT's what grows up to be that horrible sea serpent? ... And you named it Sweat Pea, of all things? ... Ms. Isely, has anyone ever told you that you have a frightening naming sense?

[Pamela can't help but chuckle a little. That had been the whole point of the name.]

If she's well trained, she can still have a sweet personality.
