Soulfasting Concert for Charity

Summary: Lenna is hosting a charity event to benefit Union's poor and homeless population, along with refugees from war-torn communities outside Union's walls and people who are moving into the city but need some help while they get on their feet.  The entire city is invited, and donations are not required but are strongly encouraged in the form of Lenna smiling and making big moe eyes at everyone as they enter until they do.

[It's the beginning of the Soulfasting holiday, and despite the complications with Cresselia and Darkrai, Lenna has miraculously managed to pull together the final preparations for her charity event at the last minute.  The party itself is being held at the Tycoon mansion in the noble quarter, and the doors have been opened for any and all who wish to come and make merry.

The spacious foyer of the house has been set up with numerous tables with food and drink for the various attendees, plenty of room for dancing and mingling, and of course a large stage at the front of the room set up for Rin and Len Kagamine - Lenna's roommates and the headline performing act of the night.  There are donation boxes situated around the room, and Lenna will also be accepting larger donations personally so that she can secure them elsewhere in the house.

And because of the time of year, there is also a table set up with plenty of Pokemon-themed masks for people to wear, with a fancy sign hand written in calligraphy: 'Courtesy of the Tatsumi Gallery.'  Lenna herself is wearing a short red party dress with matching heels, greeting everyone as they enter and more or less just buzzing about making sure everyone is having a good time.]

[Yakumo is a bit of a wallflower, seated at a table near the dance floor in a long, blue kimono. Periodically, she looks out somewhat longingly. She's not willing to go alone...but she would probably like to dance.

Of course, the object of her affection is somewhat...clueless, and may not even notice, so feel free to tug her out there...]

[ Haruka don't come up behind people it's rude. Especially not when their attention is somewhere else.

[It is rude. But Yakumo wouldn't call her out on it. She just gives a start, blushing slightly as she turns to face the speaker.]

Ah...um...n-not...in particular.

[actsmagnificent]

Good. I'm not interrupting.

[ She offers Yakumo a hand, smiling. ] Would you like to do me the honor?

Uhm...

[Yakumo blinks, but like she always does, she goes along with it. Taking Haruka's hand, she stands up.]

Okay. But...what's you're name, sir?

[ooc: do me a favor and check her permissions would you?]

[ Haruka grins, settling Yakumo comfortably against her into a dancing position. ] You don't dance with strangers?

[ That's really amusing. This girl is cute. ]

[ooc: Perfectly fine!]

[Yakumo goes along with it, falling into place easily with no complaints, reading the steps without trying. She does, however, frown slightly. Cute? Why is that funny?]

I...don't usually dance at all.

Then I lucked out. [ Haruka defaults to leading, sorry. Though she's quite impressed with your steps so far. Maybe she won't have to compensate for a dance partner this time.

The name rings quite a bell with Yakumo, as fond as she is of the theatre. It's a place she and her sister would go before Tenma started school, and a place Yakumo could go and sink into a corner to watch. And the concentration required to watch helped keep out the extra voices, even if she came with friends. In short, she recognizes the name. And she stumbles slightly, in her surprise, missing a step and over balancing. Whoops.

"Ah! I-It's...nice to meet you. My name is Yakumo Tsukamoto."

[He may be clueless, but he did at least show up at an event like this. For once, Harima was entirely alone in this crowd-- not even Alexander or Napoleon had followed him inside, strangely enough.

Harima just figured that they didn't want to deal with the crowd, and he didn't blame them for that either.

Just as uncomfortable with the party as Yakumo seemed to be, Harima leaned back against one of the chairs near her place, and was glad that he was able to breathe without getting a face full of feathers or a whiff of someone's heavy perfume.]

I've gotta ask you, Yakumo. Are all the parties this big and fancy?

[She's really quite glad that he'd agreed to come. It made things easier, dealing with all these people. Young men kept giving her looks, and she kept catching flashes of thought, but with the little island of sanity that was Harima...she was able to keep calm.

Looking over at him as he sat down, Yakumo smiled and shrugged. These things weren't her forte, really. She was here because her father had asked. And because she'd honestly hoped to get to spend some time with him, really. Both her father, and Harima. But Dad hadn't shown up, so that just left the boy.]

I'm honestly not sure. I haven't been to many. But it's nice, seeing all the people dressed up for a good cause.

[Harima huffed out a breath, eyes scanning across the room for something that looked interesting. The people dancing were something he could take or leave, but there was a flash of childlike curiosity about the snack table. He'd have to check that out sometime before he left.

Whenever that'd be. He liked spending time with Yakumo too, even if they didn't always do a lot of talking.]

So long as someone's getting helped outta all this, that's good. Just seems like it's a little much to go this far.

[Nevermind that, a few short years ago, he'd have been turning down offers of aid from events like this. Even when he was fighting to pay for a room, he was dumb enough to let his pride dictate everything.

By the Savior....at least he's not That Guy anymore.]

[Yakumo nods, folding her hands on the table and looking out at the rather opulent dance floor and smiling wistfully. It was an interesting sight, to be sure. Far outside the wealth of her family, even if they were wealthy. They were well off, comfortable, but not good with displays as grandiose as this.]

Well, the Tycoon family has lots of money. I...think maybe it's okay, if this is what they like to do. It certainly gets people's attention.

[And she thinks that's the point? Probably? It didn't seem to be all for show.]

[Harima made a thoughtful sound, thinking way too hard about the logic of people who had tons of expendable wealth. The gaudy masquerade, right in time for Soul Fast, really was attention-grabbing.

....For a charity, maybe that was the point.]

Yeah, guess you're right. I'm thinking I better stay away from that girl who's hosting this, or she's gonna look at me with those big, sad eyes because I'm not wearing a mask or something.

[Like his wallet not being deep enough. He felt like a scruffy little Swinub at a party of gorgeous Vulpixes in this place.]

[Yakumo ignored the sound, but she knew what it meant. He really wasn't the sort to be at a party like this. But...she has a fix for that.]

Well, Lenna seems very nice. [Reaching into her small handbag, Yakumo produces a mask and offers it to him. It's actually more of a nose-cover, but she'd intended it as kind of a joke. The shape? Looks oddly reminiscent of a Swinub's nose.]

[Whoa. The timing of that was so good it was a little eerie. Was Yakumo some kind of mind reader??

Surprised by the little gesture, he reached out to take the little mask for study-- and chuckled, totally amused.]

'Course he did. Napoleon must've put him up to it, too.

[The two little trouble makers certainly made quite the duo...

Without second thought he put it on and struck a badass pose in his seat.]

How do I look? Cool, huh?

[Okay? If you ever wanted to see Yakumo giggle? You get to right now. She covers her mouth with curled fingers and laughs lightly. It's not that it's unfitting, because it fits just right. But...it probably was Napoleon.]

[In all honesty Kotori is regretting attending this event by now.
I-it's not like it's badly organized or anything! but it's just not the kind of place where she feels comfortable at, specially without any pokemon by her side. While she got to dress up at least by now the unlucky bird is already ready to return home.]

Ah~! Yakumo!

[Until her yellow gaze meets her friend's, that is. She makes her way to Yakumo's side at impressive speed.]

[Yakumo's eyes light up when she feels Kotori approaching, and she stands up pretty quickly. Her smile is as warm as it ever gets, so...slightly distant but happy all the same, and she waves.]

[That is more than warm enough for her! Yakumo is happy to see her and Kotori is delighted to find a friend here, it's perfect. The only thing keeping the other girl safe from a a hug is the fact that she has clearly taken long to get dressed and ready for this and Kotori would rather not ruin all her efforts.]

Wow, you look lovely tonight!

[Yakumo blushes faintly, but inclines her head gratefully.]

You look beautiful, too. That dress is very you.

Hehehe~ I'm glad you like it! I tried to dress up for the occasion.

[She looks quite simple in comparison to most of the high class attendees but that has it's own charm too.]

Everyone is so elegant here that it's a bit overwhelming.

[Well Yakumo isn't really in anything much fancier, herself.]

It is, isn't it? I don't go to many parties like this one, so I'm feeling a little out of place, myself.

[She taps the Mismagius hat with a finger.]

But at least I came in costume.

Ha ha, it's the same for me, it's like the moment you lower your guard you'll embarrass yourself or mess up. It's a bit tense.
