Hey everybody! It's time for the Weekly Update With Yang Xiao Long, the best hostess EVER!

[Yes, it's that time again. Yang appears on the screen, jumping into the video feed and throwing her arms out wide. Her Misdreavus and Eevee are snooping behind her, curiously, but staying out of the production otherwise. Yang grins, then raises one finger, leaning towards the broadcast.]

I promised last time to give you a life saving tip about not slipping and falling to your death on icy walking bridges! So, get ready...

[Yang grins.]

...use the handrails!

[She nods.]

A-a-a-a-anyways, so like, this week Union's had some honored guests named Team Evolution. We're gonna call them TeVo for short. TeVo's been really nice, except for the whole misunderstanding with machines that kind of made earthquakes that kiiiind of could kill us all. And there's a tournament going on, to show them what we can do and make amends!

While the Council talks about giving them earthquake-causing machines back. Yeah.

[She shrugs.]

The tournament's going! Yours truly was knocked out, but our show endorses Feliks SHUT UP MILLER, I KNOW HE HAS A LAST NAME! [the last is addressed at her Eevee, who sighs] because he beat me and I'm not gonna be shamed by losing to someone who doesn't win! So go get them, Feliks! Show these guys who's boss!

Next week we have a special guest star so special that I don't know who it is yet!

[Camille is staring at you, Yang, with a 'Really?' look on her face.]

TeVo! It's a handy shortening of their name. And oh-so-stylish, Luxie!

[Yes, Luxie is a thing too now.]

[Both blink in unison.]

"Luxie"?

[ember_celica]

I'm trying out a nickname for you. Did it not take?

[ladyofluminosity]

Oh, well, Lux is actually a nickname itself, so I'm not sure how that would work...

[Just. Stunned silence for a moment.]

...Where do I start?

[He doesn't realize that he just said that out loud.]

[ember_celica]

The beginning?

[She says it like "duh."]

[second_destiny]

Hu -- oh.

The beginning? But that's material that we already covered.

[That's why he didn't start there.]

Trust me! It's fine. I bet they're happy I gave them a catchy name they can use for marketing.

But... what if the icy bridges don't have handrails? I mean... not even all the areas in Union have handrails. And there definitely won't be any if we're out exploring.

[This is clearly the most important thing Yang is broadcasting today.]

Uh...

[She turns and looks at Miller with a desperate question in her eyes: WHAT DO I DO, THERE IS A SMART BOY ASKING ME SMART QUESTIONS. Miller offers no help, not because he is merely an Eevee, but because he is an asshole.]

[Finally, she looks back at Lucas.]

...you... walk very carefully...?

[At about that moment, another Eevee wanders onto Lucas's shoulder and perks up at the sight of Miller. Avey will give an Eevee wave and bat its paw about a bit.]

But... That's not even real advice......

I think you should always make sure you have a Ground-type or a Rock-type to throw up dirt. Sand-attack and Mud-slap should do the same things, too. Some people try and melt ice with Fire-types, and then they burn themselves - we see some of those in the Medical Center sometimes.

Oh... yeah, you shouldn't do that. I once cracked some rock when I did it with a Fire-type ability, too, eheh.

[She grins, then she tilts her head. Miller just shakes his head, standing behind her.]

The dirt's a good idea! That's useful advice!

I like TeVo.

As a name, I mean. It's nice and snappy and gets the idea of their name across perfectly.

I know, right! It just communicates what they're about perfectly and it's catchy. They should pay me for it.

[celebrity_commentator]

Maybe you can do an ad campaign around it.

Might want to get the money in advance, though.

[ember_celica]

Totally. I don't think they're gonna stick around to pay me later!

TeVo, huh? Pretty sure if they wanted to shorten their name they would have already, Yang.

[Jason just shakes his head in amusement. What is he supposed to do with you?]

I saw your battle in the tournament by the way. It was a shame you were knocked out in the first round...though it did remind me that we haven't had a match in a long time.

[Is that a challenge? It could be. But he quickly continues the topic of conversation.]

You know if you can manage it, having the winner of the tournament as your guest star would be a pretty cool idea.

[ember_celica]

Hey, c'mon, Jace. It's totally better, and maybe they didn't think of it yet. I should get the winner, if I can, though.

[She grins at him, then she winks. The remark about the tournament makes her expression droop a little -- not a lot, just a little -- because Yang knows full well that she missed a good chance to fight with Team Evolution personally.]

[But that is a challenge, isn't it!]

You wanna have a go at it? I seem to recall winning, last time. Of course, if you look at the tournament, maybe I'm getting rusty.

[Jason gives her a look at the nickname. He's probably given her this exact look thousands of times before too. Finally, he replies.]

You're pretty good at talking people into things. I'm sure you can manage it.

[Jason's look of disdain at the nickname quickly turns into a smirk though.]

Maybe, but I've also been working on my abilities and training with some new pokemon recently. I have more than just Piper on my team now.

[She's used to it. She says the name, he gives her the look, it's a pattern! Until she breaks it, just for funsies.]

It is a specialty of mine!

[She tilts her head, looking questioning -- and pleased, because she knows firsthand that a well-rounded team is important -- before she nods.]
