3rd Code [Video]

[These past few weeks, Eve has been training, and training hard. And it's finally paid off. When she appears on the video feed, she looks several years older than she did before, not to mention looking more confident. She may still not have a complete grasp on emotions, but that took a seat behind her newfound strength.]

This...is this evolution? I feel stronger. Much stronger.

[She pauses for a moment, thinking of what she should say next.]

I need to test my strength. I require a partner with enough power to rival my own.

[She'd be very pleased if there aren't any, but if there are, they would make an excellent test to prove her strength to herself. To see if this is truly the height of what she can achieve.]

[ ... Which she probably won't. But she'll be racing there to try. Hence video sign off here [

[True to her word, Eve would be waiting. And pacing almost impatiently. She needed this. To see if all that training had been worth it. To see if she'd reached the pinnacle of her potential.

Meanwhile, her Magnemite and Klink trail behind her, following her as she paces.]

[ Melaka takes a little longer, as stated, but eventually, she touches down. In person there are more physical alterations, but unless you saw her before the evolution they might not stand out. The muscles all over her body have grown and become tighter, giving her a slight bulked up appearance all over. Her skin is also tougher, but there's no real visual change there except for the sole distinctly inhuman thing: that leathery natural "gloves" have formed over her hands, shaped like fingerless fighting gloves (same as how say a hitmonchan has natural boxing gloves, that sort of thing.

But when she touches down ]

Eeesh, I guess I'm the late one.

[The changes to Eve are...less subtle. She appears several years older for one. Her hair is much longer as well. The technology grafted into her body also seems slightly more advanced. However, there's also some internal changes. Some of her bones are being replaced with steel.

She glances over at the other girl for a brief moment, before turning to face her. And there's a flash of light as what look like steel blades appear behind her, fanned out almost like wings.]

Are you prepared?

[She's not one to dawdle.]

[ Eeeesh. Well, she rolls his shoulders and then makes to take off her jacket. No need to get that thing ripped if they're going to fight. She didn't have her axe on her, but she's willing to try hand to hand. Hell, she'd been using that more than her weapon in the field, lately ]

Yeah, I'm set.

[Eve seems to hover very slightly in the air as she gauges Melaka's strength. While it isn't much, it's a start. Something new she became able to do when she evolved.

However, her opponent was a Fighting type. She could still read those telltale signs, telling her her opponent's type...and weaknesses. While Eve was weak to Fighting type attacks, she was far from helpless. She did have a Flying type move at her disposal.]

Come, then. Show me what you can do.

So I'm opening? Fine by me.

[ She inhales, exhales... and then surges forward. She goes forward with a burst of speed hard for the eye to follow planning to land a punch right on the kiss for the other girl. A Mach Punch. ]

[It was just as well that Melaka struck first. It would give Eve an idea of her strength. Looks alone did not determine it. The punch was fast enough that she didn't have time to dodge, but Melaka's fist didn't connect with her face.

Eve boosted into the air slightly before the punch landed, instead catching her dead center in the chest. It was still very painful, yes. Had her skeletal structure been made of bones, Melaka might have broken them. However, it was far from enough to bring Eve down. With a pained grunt, she was pushed backwards, and she proceeded to flicker into a series of images, duplicates of herself in a circle around the other Enlightened. Double Team.

If Melaka's next strike didn't hit the real Eve though, she was in for a surprise. Her afterimages were electrified.]

[ Fast- and perhaps more importantly, while that hit was solid, it was also hard. With the gloves on, she doesn't feel pain per se, but she has an awareness that she hit something significantly harder than a normal human body should have been. So clearly her skin or... no, not the skin. Maybe it's the robotic looking components or - her bones. It's got to be something on the inside has changed within this girl.

But when she moves even faster, Melaka knows that she has to keep striking - as hard and fast as she can, to be unrelenting. So at a quick glance she makes an educated guess for which image of Eve is the correct one, and kicks out at it, to try to knock it back down to the ground-

As it is, it's not the real one and she gets a shock. Ow ]

[The pain reminded Eve that she wasn't invincible. No matter how strong she became, she doubted that was even possible. However, that didn't mean training and becoming stronger was pointless. Even with a weakness, she could fight back.

Eve would never give up. She would fight until she was completely incapable of doing so. With that telltale sting of that punch lingering, she continued to formulate a battle plan, watching with satisfaction as Melaka hit one of her images.

She didn't stay still for long, though. She and her images leaped into the air, before striking downwards with those steel blades that had been behind her at blinding speed, her version of Aerial Ace.]

[ And of course, it being an Aerial Ace, Melaka can't dodge it. Hell, it was even in a blind spot for her, and the (blades end up impaling her, drawing blood. She cries out with a yelp of pain because, hey, who aw that coming. But when they connect, they will find resistance - her skin is much tougher than human skin should be and her muscles are tight enough to form a natural roughness besides. Melaka for her part tries to shake off the pain of that - and given the abuse she's put herself through all her life, it comes quickly.

Because given where she was hit, she knows where the attack came from. She uses the momentum of the attack on her - how it shoved her down - to turn it into a tumble forward where she might then plant her hands on the ground and launch backwards for a kick. Admittedly a desperate move, but hopefully one that the other wouldn't see coming ]

[For a moment, Eve smiled as her blades made contact. There had been that initial resistance from the other's flesh, but with the speed and sheer power of the attack managed to push through.

However, that small feeling of victory was short lived. She didn't see Melaka's counterattack coming, and much like the Mach Punch before, the kick manages to catch her in the chest, and knocks her down. The blow leaves the girl gasping for breath, but she immediately begins pushing back up off the ground.]

Impressive.

Not... bad, yourself.

[ Ow, ow, ow. But Melaka closes her eyes and inhales. And as it has been done most of her life, slowly her wounds are starting to heal. She's Recovering. Before her evolution she had to focus on it directly for anything this major, but now it's going a bit faster while she's pulling herself into a new fighting stance. And thank everything, because if she just kept freely bleeding out of those wounds, she would be in trouble. They don't fully seal up in moments or anything, but they are already starting to scab up ]

[Eve isn't finished yet, though. She can still fight. And it seems her opponent is still capable of doing so as well. As she finishes righting herself, she emits a blinding flash of light, before rushing at Melaka with a Volt Tackle.]

[ What even is that, some electrical move? Maybe? Melaka doesn't see it coming, but at the last moment some instinct of hers does. Namely, that she Detects the way the move is going to go, and in one very quick burst of movement side-steps it by leaping off to one side. Of course, that ~~uses her move for the turn~~ makes it so she can't do anything immediately after that but still, avoided ]

[Close. It was a Flash. Even so, Melaka still managed to dodge her volt tackle, much to Eve's dismay. When she collides with a tree rather than her intended target, it only gives her a sense of anger. And of course, pain.

The tree pretty much splintered from the impact, and although Eve was injured, she still wasn't about to back down. She stared at Melaka, electricity beginning to crackle around her.]

Is that all you can do?

I'm barely even tired, over here!

[ She might not have much in the way of flashy abilities. But she's a fighting type: she can hit hard, survive a hit, and hit back even harder. Or at least that's how she's always thought of it. Given the time to get back on solid footing, she assumes another fighting stance. And motions for the other to start the attack again, so she might cross-counter it ]

Very well.

[While Eve's strength is much greater than that of a normal human, her true ability lies in her special attacks. She doesn't move closer instead, she releases that electrical charge in a massive Shock Wave.]

Aw, no fai---r

[ She tries to brace herself or roll out of the way before it impacts, but unfortunately, she doesn't quite manage to do do. The Shock Wave ends up connecting before Melaka can do much more than step a wide step to one side and then brace herself, but given the size of it, that smarts. Put into that position, Melaka falters a moment before gritting her teeth. And then makes to try to close the distance. Sprinting towards the other- ]

[Eve gets no small amount of satisfaction from watching Melaka get hit by her attack, even though it did not end the battle. She still had more attacks available to her though.

She makes no attempt to move further away as Melaka begins to close the distance, instead choosing to Lock-On to her. A closer range attack would be more devastating.]

[ And once she's up close enough to manage it, she can leap. At a distance she judges to be close enough to ensure a hit for it, she gets off her feet, bends one knee, and allows the momentum to carry her. That said, as she goes, she seems to speed up in mid-air and that knee begins a glow a little with a ~~Shining Finger~~ awesome power. The attempt we make here is for a High Jump Kick.

One of those do or die moments ]

[Eve doesn't bother attempting to dodge. A do or die moment it is.

Rather than making an attempt to dodge, she raises a hand almost in a halting gesture. Except with an orb of electricity covering her hand. While she could hit Melaka by launching it, Eve needed to test her own durability. She'd take the hit and give one at the same time.]

[ And then, it's a double impact! Melaka's high jump kick ends up landing right in the middle of Eve's chest, and she feels a hard impact there. But the satisfaction she feels for that impact is only momentary, because then a huge rush of electricity comes through her. She can't stop her momentum either, so depending on how much Eve can hold her ground from the impact, Melaka will either be stopped in front of her, launch both of them back, or fly off her from the electricity and probably fly into some tree ]
