For those who fear the encroaching flowers herald events of a slightly more urgent nature, perhaps it isn't really paranoia so much as sensibility.

Two days after they first appear, every single flower in Union blooms overnight. The sight is incredible - the entire city is blanketed in rainbow waves of color, and the scent of the flowers themselves is quite fragrant. The strange pink blossoms are particularly attractive.

For many of the residents of Union, however, the flowers may not be the first thing on their minds as things go a bit chaotic.

1. Enlightened with a Bug, Fairy, or Grass typing will become subject to extreme emotion swings. Primarily, the emotions will be positive, like overwhelming ecstasy, a sensation of giddiness, and a desire to spread cheer amongst their friends. These Enlightened may also suffer from confusion, an excessive amount of energy, and general loopiness. When not in sunlight, they'll swing towards the negative end of the emotional spectrum.

2. Bug, Grass, and Fairy type Pokémon have taken it upon themselves to settle into this new paradise, with the Bug types descending in swarms from above, and the Grass and Fairy types wandering in through the gates whenever the guards aren't looking. Though not violent, they'll be generally insensitive to the trouble they cause for the humans and will react negatively to anyone or anything harming the flowers.

3. Other strange Pokémon have also wandered into Union and while most appreciate the gentle sunlight, a few of the more mischievous have decided that the city could use some more variety. Each individual Castform may alter the weather between sun, rain, and hail within a certain area of the city ranging about two blocks. If Castform is creating Rain or Hail, Fairy, Bug, and Grass Enlightened will respond in a negative manner.

4. Allergies will be more fun to deal with than ever.

5. Finally, the following event Pokémon will be temporarily available to be bonded with as an extra bonus for this week. Please respond in the Map and Wild Pokemon post as per the usual to claim these. The level range is 5-8.

This event will end on April 13th. You may use this post as an IC mingle or make your own entries as you wish. If your character is a Fairy/Bug/Grass Enlightened and you prefer not to play the effects, you may opt-out.

[She shuffles, a little. ~~Totally not stepping aside in case he starts ralphing. Really.~~]

How many times have I told you not to call me that now?

[Dodging the question!]

I'm guessing saying I lost count won't help my case, huh.

[He plops down on the ground.]

And I'm just worn out from cutting vines all day. I can only keep it up for so long.

[She looks down at him, tilting her head.]

You were cutting vines? That does sound like pretty hard work.

At least I'm equipped to do it.

[He removes one of the cylinders from his belt and holds it in both hands. Suddenly, a burst of red plasma emerges from it -- a beam saber. He holds it for about three seconds, then turns it off.]

Whoa.

[She stares down at the cylinder, then back up at Asemu. She looks at him, critically, for a minute.]

That's awesome! Where'd you get that?

What, the hilt? It's just a ceramic rod. The blade is something I make.

Oh--oh, yeah! Like an Enlightened ability, right?

Yep. I can release energy. If it goes into this, it turns into a beam saber. Or I could channel it into my fist to make my punch stronger, or into my feet to make me run faster. Stuff like that.

Not bad. [She holds a hand up, and an aura of flame blazes off it for a moment.] I got this. And, you know...

[She curls her hand into a fist.]

That, too.

Huh. You use fire, too? That's what my abilities are based off of.

Fire. And fighting. [She nods. She's a Normal type, too, but that doesn't seem worth clarifying right now.] I can kinda mix them and stuff, too.

Sounds like you're better at this than me. All I've got is my energy channeling. But it's served me well enough by itself. I don't care if it's all I have, I'll still be strong enough to protect the people who are important to me.

I dunno. I'm tough, yeah, but it's because I train and work at it. And my abilities played out that way. But some people, they have different things they're good at. That's what it's like for you.

[Asemu laughs. This sounds all too familiar to him.]

You know what? You sound like my mentor. I was trained Woolf Enneacle, the White Wolf.

[Woolf had been a prolific ranger when he was alive, though he also had a reputation as a maverick. He would have said the exact same thing that Yang just said.]

Hey, I heard of him! He sounded like a good guy. [She flashes him a smile, then she nods her head.] And if he said that... smart, too!

That's the kind of thing I'c call wisdom. The only ranger I ever met who was as wise or as good as he was about the job was my own dad.

Yeah? Sounds like he was good at what he did. I know your dad's some kinda big... Ranger-y... type.

[That's kinda all she's gathered about Flit Asuno, besides "holy crap he's kinda famous."]

Ranger, and the head of a noble family. I've got really big shoes to fill. Actually, for a long time I wanted to be just like him. But I eventually learned that was impossible. I can only be myself, so I should focus on that.

But at the same time, I want to follow in the White Wolf's footsteps. Continue the legend, kind of.

Seems like a good thing to want. Sometimes, you gotta remember the people who came before. [There's a brief, distant moment.] However you can, I guess.

...Thinking about your own past?

[He notices that moment.]

Little bit. My family's Delvers and historians. I learned a lot from my uncle. Hard to not think about the past, sometimes, y'know?

Yeah, I know that feeling. The Asuno family has been diligent about its family history, so I know all about it. As a matter of fact, all of my Pokémon are named after either my ancestors or their Pokémon.

Oh, yeah? That works as good as any as a naming scheme, I think. [Better than hers, but shh.]
