Spring Fling
For those who fear the encroaching flowers herald events of a slightly more urgent nature, perhaps it isn't really paranoia so much as sensibility.
Two days after they first appear, every single flower in Union blooms overnight. The sight is incredible - the entire city is blanketed in rainbow waves of color, and the scent of the flowers themselves is quite fragrant. The strange pink blossoms are particularly attractive.
For many of the residents of Union, however, the flowers may not be the first thing on their minds as things go a bit chaotic.
1. Enlightened with a Bug, Fairy, or Grass typing will become subject to extreme emotion swings. Primarily, the emotions will be positive, like overwhelming ecstasy, a sensation of giddiness, and a desire to spread cheer amongst their friends. These Enlightened may also suffer from confusion, an excessive amount of energy, and general loopiness. When not in sunlight, they'll swing towards the negative end of the emotional spectrum.
2. Bug, Grass, and Fairy type Pokémon have taken it upon themselves to settle into this new paradise, with the Bug types descending in swarms from above, and the Grass and Fairy types wandering in through the gates whenever the guards aren't looking. Though not violent, they'll be generally insensitive to the trouble they cause for the humans and will react negatively to anyone or anything harming the flowers.
3. Other strange Pokémon have also wandered into Union and while most appreciate the gentle sunlight, a few of the more mischievous have decided that the city could use some more variety. Each individual Castform may alter the weather between sun, rain, and hail within a certain area of the city ranging about two blocks. If Castform is creating Rain or Hail, Fairy, Bug, and Grass Enlightened will respond in a negative manner.
4. Allergies will be more fun to deal with than ever.
5. Finally, the following event Pokémon will be temporarily available to be bonded with as an extra bonus for this week. Please respond in the Map and Wild Pokemon post as per the usual to claim these. The level range is 5-8.

This event will end on April 13th. You may use this post as an IC mingle or make your own entries as you wish. If your character is a Fairy/Bug/Grass Enlightened and you prefer not to play the effects, you may opt-out.

[Not that he's complaining exactly. It is a welcome change to see more vegetation around the steel structures, but even the pollen and presence of the flowers and bug pokemon are making Riku sniffle.
But he couldn't very well stay inside the whole day. Clara was practically clawing and charging at the door for a chance to get out. And while he was out, Riku seemed to attract a small admirer in the form of a smaller-than-normal Venonat. The purple bug clings to his leg every once and a while, and even his Skiddo is acting cuddly to Riku now. Normally, she doesn't even like him.
Though when she's not doing that, Clara's prancing around on the streets, going here and there and sometimes not even paying any attention to wherr she is going in her euphoria. So there might be a small chance that you might collide with a perky little grass goat, or just notice her from afar.]

Riku is quick to follow his Skiddo, with Mickey at his heels. He's quick to open his mouth to apologize, but stops short, not quite believing what he's seeing.]
...Are you giving off sparkles?

[He flicks a little flame up into the air, and it sparkles, too.]

[This is too much. Riku gets destructive dark powers and this guy's fire sparkles like fairy dust. What the hell is the world coming to.
Clara happily bleats, getting up with a toss of her head and a strut around the area. Oh yeah~ she is the most hip and fashionable Skiddo of all time and she knows it!]
Yeah, sure. Awesome. [Awesomely girly in his opinion, but who is he to judge what kind of Enlightened he is? Riku waves it off.] You're okay though right? She didn't hit you too hard?

This is obviously a guy and all, but Riku's still not believing what he's seeing. And it doesn't help that Clara lays down right beside him, practically snuggling him.]

[Because Blue here has a few accompanying her--actually, more than a few. There's a venonat resting against her bosom held there by her arms, hiding its face shyly when they approach Riku. Along her shoulders sit a group of weedles and a single caterpie, all making whistling noises.]
But they're so much fun once you get to know them.

He smiles easy at her, before rubbing the back of his head awkwardly.] Nah, a couple of bugs are okay. This is a near swarm, but... [He glances down at his little companion, smiling helplessly.] ...some of them aren't too bad.

[She takes a second to look at her shoulder collection, then to point out a specific weedle. Said weedle sings out a tune in response, which hypers up the rest of the crowd there.
Except the venonat of course, though he peeks out to look at the other venonat. His response is much quieter.]
A popular one, him. [She laughs a little, then looks to Riku's venonat before him.] I hope you're being much nicer to everyone that isn't me.

[Mickey rounds his way over to where Riku's new Venonat was hiding behind his legs, gently nudging and headbutting her to come out. Clara, meanwhile, is still in her euphoria and prancing around. Riku's occasionally keeping an eye on her, and the thought to join her trainer and that new girl did cross the Skiddo's mind, but there were so many bugs 8| Despite her good mood, she's not the biggest fan of bugs.]
Of course. Why wouldn't I be? [He does glance at the little Venonat, who merely squeaks at the bigger one in Blue's arms. She's about a foot shorter than normal ones, and its noticeable.] She just started following me, Mickey and Clara today.

Cute, aren't they? This one [ referencing the venonat in her arms ] was being kept company by the leader. [ What a wonderful meeting. A jolly weedle being nice to the timid fuzzy venonat. ]
Maybe yours thinks you're a cool-looking leader type yourself. [ a smile. ] Has pokémon bonding been going well for you then?

[Meanwhile, Riku's own little Venonat gives a few worried little chirps from behind his leg, protesting that bugs aren't that annoying! She's not that annoying... is she? Well, he can't tell what she's saying, but he does lower a hand to give her a little pat on her furry head.] Didn't mean you.
Least he's got a good head on his shoulders. [A kind one at least. There's probably a reason he's been made their leader.
Ahaha, he just looks away and rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. At the very least he isn't blushing, but really Blue, he's not suitable enough to be a leader-type. He'd likely kill anyone that was following him.] It's been alright. Managed to bond with two more; a Misdreavus and Skiddo. That's Clara, right there. [He points to her, who seems to have gone shy with all the bugs that are surrounding Blue.]

[ Not that she would know what to do with it all. Give it to somebody who did, probably (or get it all burnt up by Dahlia's fire more likely). And gosh Riku, Blue doesn't know about your inside angst, okay. ]
Clara, huh? Hello! [ She gives a tilt of her head and a small wave, but she's not sure if the skiddo is naturally a shy type or not. But the leader weedle on her shoulder certainly isn't, giving a whistling woooo that the others join in with. Which, admittedly, makes Blue giggle. Just give her a moment. Okay. ]
Does a misdreavus mean you went down into the city ruins? I know they're most popular there.

Clara actually stares at the little big harem, a clear unhappy expression in her face. She's fine and happy with a number of types, but argh, no bugs thank you very much. Riku himself just raises an eyebrow at her. First, she's happy, and now she's shy and giving death glares to the bugs? Well, the later does explain why she isn't coming closer to investigate Blue.] I think she's feeling a little out of sorts. She's often not... like this.
Yeah, I've heard a lot about them and the mausoleum from some of my coworkers who said it was haunted there. Mim's at home now though. I can only take three with me.

Ah, don't worry about them! They're not going to do anything to upset anyone. Are you? [ She eyes the leader side, and they again make a curious sing song whooooOOO sound. Which. Is exactly not the right kind of sound. Not that Blue thought that what she said would really help, but. ] No, play nice. Or no lunch for any of you.
[ AWWWWWWW. But anyway. Mausoleum. ]
Did you like it then? I went through there, but I haven't been able to really explore it. I want to go to the swamps sometime too. There's meant to be ruins there as well...

I think she's just having an off day, but so long as she doesn't ram into you, I think you'll be okay. [Riku knows the issue is more with the bugs and less over Blue herself, but still. He can handle getting tackled by a Skiddo; Blue might not.]
It's okay. A lot of my co-workers were talking about and it's easy enough to explore. [At least for a Dark type.] Oh yeah? I've heard that there's lots of different kinds of Pokemon out there too. Some Grass and a Water type named Marill...
[He's been trying to do his research on the areas around them.]

Well, its a little more of Water types in general. But I think they'd be easier to find than some other ones.
