[After visiting the council and seeking permission to stay in Union City, Renko was more than pleased with their answer. They'd even given her one of those Warp Band devices she'd seen most people around the city wear. Needless to say, she looks thrilled once she gets it all figured out and starts recording.]

Hey, this thing isn't as hard to figure out as I thought it would be! That's great!

So it's pretty obvious that I'm not from around here. That aside, my name's Renko Usami, and I've decided to stay here! It's quite a bit different than what I'm used to in most ways.

[She pauses for a moment, debating what to say next, all the while counting the seconds away in her head. She needed to make a good impression on these people. She hoped she was doing a good job.]

I'd really like to learn more about all of you. Your stories, culture, technology, any of it, really. Is there a library I can check out? Other than that, any advice at all would be appreciated, especially with exploring some of the areas outside the city. It didn't seem so bad on the way here, but I was in a group then. I'm guessing going solo would be a very different experience.

Anyway, that's it for now. Thank you for allowing me to stay in your city.

Hmm, do you want to pick the place to meet? Wherever you do, I'm sure I'll know how to get there.

How does in front of the university sound?

Sounds good to me! Give me about five minutes to get there.

Sure. I'll be waiting.

Okay! [ She gives a smile to the video feed, then it shuts off.

And it won't take Blue long to get there at all. She looks around for the girl she'd seen over the band, and when she spots her, gives her a wave if she catches her looking in her direction. Whether she does or not, Blue approaches her. ] Hey. Welcome to the Union, huh?

[ Accompanying Blue is a squirtle, who kept up easily to her side as they walked. Now standing still, the pokémon looks up at Renko, even taking a few steps away from Blue to properly observe her. ]

[Sure enough, Renko will be waiting patiently in front of the university. She offers a little wave herself when she spots the other girl approaching.]

You're exactly one minute and twenty seven seconds early.

[That's just one of Renko's little quirks. Whether Blue had been late or early, she would've stated exactly how much so. Or even if she was late herself. She's not very intimidating, especially with the little green blob slowly bouncing in place next to her. She does glance down at the Squirtle for a moment before speaking again, though.]

It's a really interesting place.

[ The announcement of time does surprise Blue, but the expression on her face gives way to a smile. ]

It's home. I can only imagine what it must be like for you - I get excited in any new place I go, but I've never moved to a whole new society.

Oh, it's unbelievably exciting! I already have three notebooks filled with sketches and observations I've made about the city, some of the surrounding areas, the Pokémon, and some of the technology.

While it's quite different from my own home, I could get used to this. There's something to be learned everywhere.

Can I ask you about them? The differences - but about where you're from, too.

You said you were interested in learning about us and how we live. I admit that I'm pretty curious about how life was for you back where you come from.

[ She makes a pointless circular motion with a finger. ] I was hoping we could chat while I showed you around?

Sure, I can try answering any questions you might have.

[It was a fair trade-off, after all. Information in exchange for being shown around the city.]

That's completely fine with me.

Great! Sorry if it sounded sneaky, but I thought you might be up for it.

[And it's the harmless sort of sneaky!]

Do you have anywhere you want to see first? There's the shopping district and the entertainment district... and I'll show you the way to the hospital as well. The pharmacy is close by, and there's a herbal specialist too.

You don't have to apologize.

[At least Blue was up front about it!]

Anyplace you could show me that might be even remotely useful would be great.

Hm, then I'll show you the way around the shops first. Knowing where to buy things for you and your friend is pretty useful knowledge, right? [She glances to her pokémon, giving them a smile before she looks back to Renko.]

Did they come with you from- Gigas, is it?

Great! I agree, knowing the best places to shop can come in pretty handy, especially if I happen to be looking for something specific.

Two of them did, yes. The other I caught on my way here.

[Her expression twitches at the mention of catching.] Really...

[But first, Blue motions out a hand towards a direction, nodding her head.] This way. [And she begins to lead, with the squirtle following along but having a sort of independence in its movements. Blue glances to the squirtle's direction-] Remember, not too far. [And then looks to Renko.]

By catch... do you mean those balls by any chance?

[Renko scoops up her Solosis, cradling the green blob Pokémon in her arms. While he could move, he wasn't very fast, so this was much easier.

She keeps right up, glancing around to take note of the locations of places they may pass. She nods in response to the question.] Yes, Pokéballs.

[The subject makes her fall silent for a moment. What she thinks or wants to say, Blue doesn't even really know herself. Balls that contained pokémon within them were just stories before - stories to be learnt from, but still like a tale.

And how must've others been reacting after the tournament?]

...Have you had any trouble since you decided to stay?

[There's a tone of concern in her voice.]

[Renkou didn't understand the big deal at first. They were everyday objects back in Gigas. While she could understand the view of some of the people here, that they seemed awfully restraining for Pokémon, they were handy that they could be used to capture a rare Pokémon without risking it fleeing.]

Well, I've gotten some odd looks and remarks, but other than that, not really.

Hmm...

...I bet! Well, I hope that's all you really get...

[She tried to think of her own feelings, but, well. There was no reason to really ruin the mood so early with uncertainties. She puts a smile back onto her, glancing over to Renko's company before the girl herself.]

What's the wildlife like surrounding Gigas? What are the biggest differences you've noticed so far?

I hope so too.

[Renko laughs a bit, attempting to make light of the situation. While she didn't think anyone would directly try to harm her, she was still somewhat worried. Blue's question was a good distraction, though.]

Honestly? It's not that different outside of the city. The biggest difference I've noticed is that the Pokémon here seem to be bolder.

Yeah? [That has her curious.] How so?

They don't seem to be afraid of you.

I hope not. [Though she understands what that implies for Gigas. Another thought takes her mind.]

Oh! Since you have a warp band now, will you be using our method of bonding with pokémon from now on?

I will, actually. My three are already attuned. Bonding with them through these devices was quite an interesting experience, and I look forward to testing it out on a variety of other Pokémon.

Then I guess you plan to go out and around the Union? How confident do you feel doing that?
