Who: Everyone!
Where: The newly discovered island
What: After recent events, the people of Union could use a bit of R&R. What better place than a tropical island?
Warnings: Drinks with little umbrellas in them, swimsuits, idek

An island paradise, discovered just off the southern coast, less than a day's travel from the city. A strong enough Pokemon could easily carry their partner and others out there. It was hard to say just who sent the original message, but pictures surfaced, with the tagline "Don't you wish you were here," came over the warp bands' feeds, and, like Venomoths to the flame, people began clamoring toward this new found tropical get-away. Those who wanted to go would find it easy enough--with so many people making their way to investigate, for whatever reason they claimed (but let's be honest, it was probably the beach), one could just hitch a ride.

The island itself appeared untouched by human contact. The Pokemon were strange and different compared to the fare immediately around Union. A warm breeze blew through palm trees, carrying the scent of hibiscus flowers. The water, blue as the summer sky, was warm and inviting.

This truly was a paradise.

What sort of self-respecting Ranger would Erwin be if he didn't investigate these vibrations and footprints? A non-self-respecting one, that's what kind. So, crouching a little to keep from being immediately detected, ready to call Gunsmoke on the Warp Band if needed, he'll creep through the underbrush, as silently as possible.

When he goes far enough along the beaten path, Erwin will see one (1) Tropius. It's the obvious cause of the vibrations, as it's currently... Trying again and again to lean up to reach the top of what looks like a plantain tree, to eat its delicious not-banana fruits. It's a bit smaller than an adult Tropius however, so it can't reach quite yet. Even when it gets up on its hind legs to try and snap at the fruit.

Well, hi there weird baby fruit dinosaur. Erwin straightens up, because clearly there is...not much...threat...and decides it's better not to call the easily-excitable Gunsmoke. Instead, keeping a careful distance in case fruitbaby gets pissy, he'll approach slowly.

Since there's nobody around to see him being kindly and good-hearted... "Here, let me help."

Tropius doesn't notice Erwin until he speaks, but finally stomps back down on the ground to look at the weirdo creature in front of it. It's never seen a Pokemon like you before! And you're even shorter than it is, what are you gonna do? It's still young and trusting though, so it lowers its head a little in acceptance.

Awww, nice little baby dinosaur thing. Erwin smiles a little, resisting the urge to pat the Tropius on the head -- not every Pokemon is as okay with petting as Gunsmoke is -- and instead moving towards the plantain tree.

A moment to size it up, another to prepare and he's just going to bodyslam the trunk. Because he's a man. Once, twice for good measure, and at least some of the fruits should be swaying wildly, then dropping to the ground.

Wow, so manly. Tropius watches Erwin in awe, before crying out in delight as the plantains fall to the ground and it leans down to eat them greedily. It pushes one of them toward Erwin with its nose in good conscious before louder, heavier footsteps are heard behind them. You see, Tropius is just a baby! And all the loud noises its been making have summoned mama Tropius. She stomps through to the clearing, looking between the two of them and glares down at Erwin. What's going on here?

Erwin has just picked up the tribute of plantain and is about to -- well, probably save it for later, he likes gross unhealthy food and wants to fry it -- when hey, s'up mama. With the obvious coolheadedness that won him a superior position, Erwin carefully lengthens the distance between himself and baby, politely. He doesn't speak Pokemon -- not fluently, and what little he knows is basically Levi-ese -- but the intent is clear. He doesn't want to upset a protective mommy.

From somewhere else on the island, Levi is probably scowling at Erwin's unhealthy diet. The mama Tropius snorts at him, but her child jumps up a little, rambling out a bunch of Pokemon noises. Clearly, it's giving her the details on this weird creature helping it. Shaking her head, she hits the trunk of the plantain tree with the side of her head and knocks down plenty more of the fruits. After the explanation, it's obvious that she isn't mad at Erwin. Probably even a little impressed with his tree hitting skills! But then baby Tropius is asking to go play with this weird human. Well, she's not sure if he's a suitable playmate for her baby. So she leans in to give Erwin a look over, nosing him a little, seeing if he backs off...

Levi has a sudden shiver, like his not-boyfriend is ruining his health unchecked. But, at the moment, Erwin is being inspected by protective mommy and that is the priority. When nosed, he straightens up promptly, not backing away, but not making any aggressive movements. See, he's super-skilled at both tree-hitting and potentially baby-protecting, but he's also a cool dude. All's good, mama.

She gives him a nod, finally, before picking up a few of the plantain bunches in her mouth and giving them to baby Tropius. A sort of packed lunch, if you will. It'll get hungry on the way, surely. It takes it with a happy noise, and turns back to Erwin, ready for adventure! Erwin has bonded with Tropius, (and its mom?) who is level 23! Its gender and stats are up to you!
