Who: Everyone!
Where: The newly discovered island
What: After recent events, the people of Union could use a bit of R&R. What better place than a tropical island?
Warnings: Drinks with little umbrellas in them, swimsuits, idek

An island paradise, discovered just off the southern coast, less than a day's travel from the city. A strong enough Pokemon could easily carry their partner and others out there. It was hard to say just who sent the original message, but pictures surfaced, with the tagline "Don't you wish you were here," came over the warp bands' feeds, and, like Venomoths to the flame, people began clamoring toward this new found tropical get-away. Those who wanted to go would find it easy enough--with so many people making their way to investigate, for whatever reason they claimed (but let's be honest, it was probably the beach), one could just hitch a ride.

The island itself appeared untouched by human contact. The Pokemon were strange and different compared to the fare immediately around Union. A warm breeze blew through palm trees, carrying the scent of hibiscus flowers. The water, blue as the summer sky, was warm and inviting.

This truly was a paradise.

[A giant pair of jaws emerges from the brush attempting to bite Red in half!]

Suddenly, this was so much less fun. Red unceremoniously kicks Abby out of the way for it's safety and then dives, feeling the teeth much more than he would have liked as he feels a sharp pain in his foot, it's been cut open and worse, he kicked Abby the other way so now it's between him and his Pokémon. Rolling and moving up to his knee, he's then trying to get his bearings on just what he's dealing with.

[A wild Pokemon with vicious jaws emerges from the brush, drooling a bit at the sight of him. Red hears loud stomping as another comes running up from behind.]

Two. He didn't know what sort of Pokemon they were, and he sure as hell wasn't an Analyst to divine the answers, but he did know his Pokemon. It was terrible all-around. Abby couldn't use Fire-Type moves as is, and without the boost wouldn't be for much. If only he could bur--Wait. He needed Nike.

Feeling the tears start from the pain in his foot and choking back a cry as he stood, he turned and ran. "Nike! I NEED YOU! Use Sand Attack!" The Pidgey was up in the air and rushing to his voice to whip up the ample sand into their eyes. Red didn't have much for protection, but he did have his hat, removing it and pressing it over his face to avoid being blinded himself.

((OOC: A question if you can answer it, can Red's Charmander use it's tail to ignite things? For practicality it makes sense he could, but I want to get this cleared up.))

((Yes, it can. To some degree. Additionally, as a note, the Warp Band has a ranged recall feature, as well as an SOS.))

One of the Pokemon opens its mouth and launches a blast of water at the Pidgey. Even with the sand, it still hits dead on, and the unconscious bird starts falling out of the sky.

The second turns on Red and charges. Just as it's taking off, the sound of more stomping can be heard as two more come crashing out of the brush.

Water Type. That means coming any closer to the ocean is just a death sentence.

Raising his Warp Band, he records the Pokemon as it charges, and the two more emerging before he turns off the video and dives, doing the only thing he can; scooping some sand and flinging it at the Pokemon's eyes as he moves to his feet. He takes off again, back toward the treeline and panting as he also recalls Nike and raises the Warp Band so he can speak.

"Hey, this," He takes a breath of air, "is Red. I found a bit of trouble. Need some help. Can't talk, just come." He pauses, running into the treeline.

"Abby, return!" He shouts, remembering to turn off the audio and turn on the SOS as he recalls the Charmander back to him, picking up the fire lizard and running with him. "I need you to find something to burn, anything. I need--" He stops talking and picks up a stick as he's running, holding it to the Charmander's tail to see if he can start a fire. Which, sadly is taking much longer than if Charmander could even use Ember.

((OOC: Activated the SOS, just in case that needs noted.))

[The good news is the stick lights.

The bad news is there are four angry, enormous Pokemon running after Red.]

"Abby," Red draws the Charmander up closer to speak quietly. "When I stop and turn around, I need you to Growl at them." Knowing it will do very little to blunt all those teeth, it's more to distract them. Now that he has a fire, he has to use it.

However, a reply finally comes through on the Warp Band. A sterile, calm voice.

While many would be put off, Red however is very glad; that means this person knows how to handle trouble. He pitches off to one side abruptly, putting the burning stick at the base of a tree and handing another to Abby to hold while he turns on the audio again and runs.

"West side. Heading east now. Little in forest. Water Type Pokémon. I think." He then turns off the audio and starts working to light another stick, but he's getting tired, and can't keep sprinting forever, which is why he's trying to make enough of a distraction that they either need to deal with the fire or Red, but with four that is looking hard to divide their attention enough to do.

The Pokemon are quickly closing the distance! The leader snaps at Red's heels.

"Takeshi, now!"

As the Feraligatrs close in on Red, a gentle hand hovers over his leg. Almost immediately, his surroundings shift, blurring and speeding past his eyes as he is teleported away. While he hasn't moved far, it's far enough to put him out of the direct line of the rampaging Pokemon.

Standing between them now is a woman, hair tied in a ponytail and straw hat sitting firmly on her head. Dressed in a simple pink sundress, a Katana sits at her side, still in its sheath. Standing beside her are an Azumarill and a Mawile, a Beautifly hovering closely overhead.

The same gentle, now glowing, hand of the Kirlia who plucked him from danger hovering over Red's ankle, a bit of the pain begins to ease.

Disoriented, Red stumbles and blinks wildly, and it is Abby that directs him to the points of interest; the woman and the Kirlia that is...healing the cut? Well, likely not, but at least it feels so much better. As scared as he was, it had apparently made it able for him to forget how much it hurt. True to form, Abby Growls at the Feraligatr, knowing it will do very, very little, but he feels very obligated as they are here to save him and his partner it seems.

Red rests a hand on his knee, and lets the other rest lightly on the Kirlia's head, and he's breathing heavily, but he manages a deep enough breath so he doesn't stutter, "Go help them. I'll be okay. Thanks." And not a syllable more before he goes back to panting for air, but he does keep an eye on the fight.

There's a flash of blue and a loud roar as a Tyrantrum charges into the scene, barrelling straight towards the closest Feraligatr. Its powerful jaws are open, but snap shut just before it's close enough to bite the Feraligatr - Jade has no desire to kill the Pokemon of this island before he has a chance to study them, and had ordered his team to avoid doing too much damage.

The man himself appears a few seconds later, a Pansage beside him. A quick glance is enough for him to take stock of the entire situation, and he swiftly moves to stand besides Red, just in case he needs more defending. At the same time, he attempts to put one of the Feraligatr's to sleep using Hypnosis, while Pansage lashes out at a different Feraligatr with a quick Vine Whip.

[The now more formidable assembly brings the Feraligatrs up short. One is bashed away by the Tyrantrum and sent reeling. The hypnosis doesn't seem to effect such a dispersed group, but the Vine Whip definitely stings one of the others. Seeing they're out matched, the Feraligatr turn tail and flee.]

[Exhaling deeply, a bit relieved that they didn't have to fight, Sakura starts to turn.]

We came as quick as we co--

[...

That man was...

He didn't have any...

...Yeah, good luck getting anything out of her. Her back turned to Red, her face was in her hands.]

Thanks, I really...

[Oh right. Some people didn't like the fact that he was not wearing anything. He reaches to adjust his hat, and Abby makes a noise to get his attention, and points at his hat and then Red's crotch. Putting the ideas together, Red takes off his hat and covers himself.

A concept that hasn't occurred to him all day.]

Thanks Abby, you could have suggested that earlier. Anyway, aren't you from the theater?

[Abby makes another noise and points at Jade. ]

Oh! [Red sets the Charmander down finally and nods to the older man.] You answered the Warp Band, didn't you? I really appreciate it. I can't really repay you, but if you ever need anything I don't forget a debt. [And now that trouble is settled, he looks down at the Charmander.]

I really hope you hadn't wanted to show me those Pokemon...

[Abby shakes his head vigorously. That's mean, Red.]

[For a second, Jade stares after the Feraligatrs, wondering if it's worth pursuing them. But they're out of sight before he can even begin to issue commands to his Pokemon, and he really ought to fulfil his duties by tending to the civilians, so he leaves the matter for now.]

[The tension flows out from his body, his intent expression relaxing into an amused smile as he observes Sakura's reaction.]

Well now, I'm glad that this is all settled nicely.

[His smile doesn't fade as he glances down at Red.]

I'll be sure to keep that in mind. [Jade's words are polite, as is his tone, but there's an edge of sarcasm in there all the same.]

[While they are talking, a single Totodile comes running out of the brush, "roaring". It was totally there with the Feraligatrs the whole time, you just must not have noticed it.

It runs into Red's ankle and falls flat on its face.]

Good. I--

[There is a slight pause from Red as he is wondering just what happened, but whatever, it's very cute. Abby is pointing and making a million noises that Kindred Souls and other Pokémon will understand as, {That! That's what I wanted to show you Red!} While Red can't understand his Charmander in that way, he does understand enough and activates his Warp Band before picking it up, and Abby takes Red's hat to now wear on his head, finally seeming a lot less nervous.]

Hey little one, why don't you tell me what all the trouble was about?

((OOC: Herp. Forgot to mention that Sakura-mun said to skip her turn for this round.))

[The Totodile looks up dumbly, and looks around. And then starts bawling]

[Red looks down at Abby, who stares back. Reassuring isn't his strong point, so Red turns back to the Totodile and holds it close, patting it's back.]

It'll be okay. You want to come with me? Should we... [sigh] Find your family? You don't have to cry.

[The Totodile sniffles and looks up at Red, wibbling]

[Red nods as if he's just decided.]

Yes. You can come with us, or we'll help you find your your family; it's all up to you, so smile. It's nice making new friends. I'm Red, and this is Abby.

[The Charmander waves, though he is hiding his head under Red's hat.]

[The Totodile starts bawling again and attaches itself to Red's leg.
