Who: Everyone!
Where: The newly discovered island
What: After recent events, the people of Union could use a bit of R&R. What better place than a tropical island?
Warnings: Drinks with little umbrellas in them, swimsuits, idek

An island paradise, discovered just off the southern coast, less than a day's travel from the city. A strong enough Pokemon could easily carry their partner and others out there. It was hard to say just who sent the original message, but pictures surfaced, with the tagline "Don't you wish you were here," came over the warp bands' feeds, and, like Venomoths to the flame, people began clamoring toward this new found tropical get-away. Those who wanted to go would find it easy enough--with so many people making their way to investigate, for whatever reason they claimed (but let's be honest, it was probably the beach), one could just hitch a ride.

The island itself appeared untouched by human contact. The Pokemon were strange and different compared to the fare immediately around Union. A warm breeze blew through palm trees, carrying the scent of hibiscus flowers. The water, blue as the summer sky, was warm and inviting.

This truly was a paradise.

[For all she'd effusively thanked Squid Girl for a ride over, Rise isn't really doing much. She's here to relax and forget, and for her, right now, that means reading an extremely predictable romance novel under an umbrella and watching her Pokémon play - mostly Toyo and Himiko attempting to bury Musashi in the sand. She's also brought her little Nidoran with her as a vacation from the Habitat, and, being a reptile, Chiyome's snoozing in the sun.]

[Maybe later on she'll strip down to a bikini and splash around, if it seems worthwhile. Right now she's saving her skin from the sun and her hair from the salt water, though.]

[After spending some time fooling around in the surf, Asemu has taken to walking the beach as he dries off in the sun. When he spots Rise, he decides to stop and say hi.]

Hey. Enjoying yourself?

[For reference, he's wearing a pair of white swimming trunks with black outlines. Nothing on his upper body.]

[Clearly the fact that there's so many men running around like that has nothing to do with Rise's position on the beach. For her part, she's wearing a pinkish sundress that's loose enough that it's almost certainly covering a swimsuit of her own.]

Beats the heck out of running for my life, if that's what you mean.

Hey, remember. That was your idea.

[He plops down on the sand.]

But this is definitely better.

This is the sort of break I thought I needed before the earthquake and everything. Turns out I apparently wanted to train Pokémon, but this is nice too.

We all need breaks every now and then. Even me. This was supposed be my training week, but here I am.

You have weeks that aren't training weeks?

Of course I do. You don't think I just work 24/7, do you?

You kind of give that impression, yeah.

[Facepalm.]

No. I don't. I mean, I only spend about eight hours a day on duty. And I get two days off every week.

Really? So what do you normally do to relax in all that free time?

Mostly reading or playing games with my sister. Sometimes I listen to the radio, too. But Dad's got tons of books in his office, so if I need something to do, I'll go in and take something off the shelves.

Reading, huh? I guess that makes sense. There's something that separates the tough guys in the Rangers from the tough guys in the Guard, and I guess education's one explanation.

[Don't mind that tentacle creeping out from the bushes next to where Rise's relaxing while she's particularly caught up in her reading. Don't mind that at all.]

[The only one who notices in time is Himiko. She considers warning Rise for a second, but ~~she's seen enough he~~ okay no she decides there's nothing hostile about the approaching Pokémon, and her partner needs to learn to use her Psychic powers better anyway.]

[Nothing hostile indeed. Squid Girl's just feeling a little mischievous today. The tentacle creeps its way along the ground, snaking out to the edge of Rise's beach chair. Once it's there, it springs to life, wrapping around her ankle and tickling at her feet.]

AAAHHAHA!

[That is rude, startling, and oh gosh that really does tickle. Rise falls out of her chair and rolls around on the ground for a second, laughing involuntarily.]

[Meanwhile, Himiko calms Musashi down and offers some mysteriously-appearing popcorn.]

[And because Squid Girl has no sense of appropriate times to stop doing things, here comes a second tentacle out to tickle the other foot. There is laughter coming from the bushes as well now.]

[This is going to go on for a few seconds of Rise not being able to breathe before Musashi has enough.]

[In a surprisingly short interval, Squid Girl has a glaring if somewhat sandy bug samurai giving her a Look. Or possibly a Leer.]

[Squid Girl's giggling continues right up until the Scyther is in her face, at which point she stops immediately - both the laughing and the tickling. She reels her tentacle back in, sitting in place with her hands on top of her knees and bowing her head down.]

I'm sorry! I was just teasing!

Hahahaha it's fine...hehe...leave her alone, Musashi...

[Rise's just gonna lie here for a second.]

You...got me pretty good there...

[Squid Girl emerges from the bushes fully now, suspiciously eying up that Scyther as she moves past to sit in front of Rise.]

Were you surprised?

[Just lying facedown on her towel catching her breath.]

Super surprised.

I've been practicing my sneak attacks lately.

[She proudly waves her tentacles around her head.]

Well, I am weak to sneak attacks...although you'd think it'd be the other way around for Psychics, wouldn't you...?

[Himiko shrugs. She's never had that problem.]

Just..hehe...be careful, okay? I almost snorted some sand.
