Where: The newly discovered island
What: After recent events, the people of Union could use a bit of R&R. What better place than a tropical island?

An island paradise, discovered just off the southern coast, less than a day's travel from the city. A strong enough Pokemon could easily carry their partner and others out there. It was hard to say just who sent the original message, but pictures surfaced, with the tagline "Don't you wish you were here," came over the warp bands' feeds, and, like Venomoths to the flame, people began clamoring toward this new found tropical get-away. Those who wanted to go would find it easy enough--with so many people making their way to investigate, for whatever reason they claimed (but let's be honest, it was probably the beach), one could just hitch a ride.

The island itself appeared untouched by human contact. The Pokemon were strange and different compared to the fare immediately around Union. A warm breeze blew through palm trees, carrying the scent of hibiscus flowers. The water, blue as the summer sky, was warm and inviting.

This truly was a paradise.

"I'm not-- ahhhh, don't!" Armin laughs, wiping the water off his face and barely managing to stifle the wild giggles as Eren is attacked by a ferocious tiny Krabby. "Oh, Eren! You know these pinch, I've told you at least twenty times..."

Shaking his head at Eren's antics, Armin reaches out, gently grasping his friend's arm and attempting to emotionally reason the Krabby into setting him free. "Come on, now, he wasn't going to hurt you..."

Armin startles a little, pushing his hat back and wiping not-so-surreptitiously at his eyes, which are decidedly red. But he manages a little smile, and his Ralts buddy waves her little tiny arms at both Hiroshi and the Klink.

"Hello. It's nice to see you again. How are you finding the trip?" Very polite, if a bit rushed in the delivery.

[Ah yes, according to plan. Famke will hop off her rock and waddle over, unblinking eyes fixed on Sora. Small human, your terror will feed her power as she ascends to her rightful place as --

Erwin knows how to have fun -- no, really, he does, stop laughing! -- and so he was talked into coming along with his not-boyfriend comrade, Levi. He even put on sunscreen and some ridiculous floral-patterned shirt. See? Having fun!

But even the pleasure of sunbathing has grown old, so Erwin's set out to explore the island for the glory of manki-- erm.

[(Un)fortunately, Jade isn't a deep sleeper, and the sudden sensation of something slimy on his forehead is more than enough to wake him up. He opens his eyes, only to be greeted by a faceful of tentacles. It's unexpected enough that even his usual composure cracks, and he jerks his head back reflexively, arm sweeping up to bat whatever it is away.]

[At the same time, the sand under their feet begins to shift.]

[Cock is good enough. Levi lifts the runty Omanyte up away from his hand.]

[There are so many ways one can react when one is rudely awakened from their peaceful nap by a slobbering Houndour possessing dubious levels of mental faculties.]

[Jade happens to choose the most violent way, instinctively lashing out with a Psychic blast as he reaches up to shove Gunsmoke off because what are friends!]

[Oh look, it's the Commander's roommate. Jade sits up, surreptitiously wiping at his forehead, just in case the Omanyte happens to secrete poison. This has the side-effect of smearing Levi's masterpiece, but at least he'll be getting a nice sunburn in that area.]

Is that so? [He adjusts his glasses to cover up his momentary discomfort, smiling.] Well, I suppose that's understandable; I do have quite a handsome face.

"Abby," Red draws the Charmander up closer to speak quietly. "When I stop and turn around, I need you to Growl at them." Knowing it will do very little to blunt all those teeth, it's more to distract them. Now that he has a fire, he has to use it.

However, a reply finally comes through on the Warp Band. A sterile, calm voice.

While many would be put off, Red however is very glad; that means this person knows how to handle trouble. He pitches off to one side abruptly, putting the burning stick at the base of a tree and handing another to Abby to hold while he turns on the audio again and runs.

"West side. Heading east now. Little in forest. Water Type Pokémon. I think." He then turns off the audio and starts working to light another stick, but he's getting tired, and can't keep sprinting forever, which is why he's trying to make enough of a distraction that they either need to deal with the fire or Red, but with four that is looking hard to divide their attention enough to do.

[Jade isn't about to be the one to inform Apollo why it's an issue, although he does take note of his obliviousness.]

I was planning on doing much the same. Perhaps we can go together? I'd rather travel in groups until we have a good idea of how powerful the Pokemon in this island are.

[As he moves closer to the sound, he finds that it becomes more heterophonic, despite the voices sounding almost exactly the same. With it, the sound of leaves moving and, sure enough, a hibiscus bush shakes to the rhythm. It's fairly upbeat, and whoever is back there sounds like they're having a good time.]

We're fine back here! [She would ask to go again, but better give everyone a break first. She's not bothered either, so Lux is the only one.]

[The Rufflet sticks his head out, letting out a sharp squawk. Yeah, the extreme speed did shake him, but he's trying not to show it.]

[Gunsmoke probably SHOULD exhibit more keen defenses in the face of unexpected attacks -- but he's Gunsmoke. So he careens backwards and up into the air like so.

Fortunately, Erwin is right there to snatch his wayward Houndour out of the air. Like a boss.]

[Curiouser and curiouser! Feliks carries on towards the source of the noise, sneaking up to the hibiscus bush and trying to peer through its branches.]

Armin eyes the ball with something between shock and curiosity. "How interesting. It seems Honedge don't care for games -- or was he simply unaware of the damage he was causing?"

[Yang looks up at Squid Girl but it's kinda hard to get a good view, given that it's... a hat.]

[He looks towards the center of the island and the cliffs peeking out over the top of the trees.]

As long as we're moving away from the beach it probably doesn't matter exactly which direction we go. We'll still be seeing things that we haven't before. Hopefully we'll be able to find a way up those cliffs though.

[He starts walking into the jungle. If Jade's paying attention to small details, he'll notice that Apollo's walking slower in bare feet, not committing to putting his foot down in any particular place until his toes have found a spot devoid of anything hard, sharp, or crunchy. It may be slightly slower, but he's making almost no sound, and the sound he does make isn't regular like normal humans footsteps, being more like Deerling's or Hippopotas's. Seedot is too slow-moving to keep up and rides on Hippopotas, while Fletchinder flies between the branches overhead.]

[It's an Exeggcute! Each of its six eggs seems to be having the time of their life, attempting to form what looks to be an eggy conga line. It's a bit staggered and not quite straight and single-file, but the little guys are working it! Dang, do they have some moves!]
