Mewtwo Event Start
They came in a horde. Ferried by enormous water types and a huge flock of flying types, each fully evolved with strange markings across its body. They were angry. They were in pain. And they were here.
Moving across the land like a tidal wave, the horde of strange Pokemon swept across the land, making their way inexorably toward Union, and leaving devastation in their wake. At their head, a Psychic Pokemon of immense, immeasurable power. Covered in armor that did little to mask the scent of rotting flesh that accompanied it, the Pokemon’s mind seemed unburdened by the state of its body as it swept trees from their root with but a contemptuous gesture.
As the Union forces scrambled to meet the army of Pokemon, Ori, the mysterious young person who had visited before appeared in a flash.
Begone, Origin! This no longer concerns you!
The voice thundered in the minds of all present, the rage of the attacking Pokemon palpable as its horde roared in agreement.
Ori gave the Pokemon a sad smile as their body began to glow with an aura of pink light. In an instant, the human was gone, and another, much smaller Pokemon remained.
This is unnecessary. We… they can help you.
I trusted my fate to humanity once. Never again will I make such a foolish mistake.
You will see. They will show you the way.
The two mysterious stones taken from the Gigas installation appeared besides Ori, but their sheen seemed almost nonexistent. Closing their eyes, the Pokemon engulfed the battlefield in an aura of shimmering pink light. The wails and screams of the Pokemon assembled before them grew palpable. Screams of pain, screams of want, screams of beings slowly dying, grasping for a final hope that their master might cast down the accursed humans and find a cure for their malady, a way to allow them to live as whole beings.
But comprehension is not understanding. Heedless of the aura, the Pokemon advanced, a wave of destructive fury hurled to the teeth of the Union column.
[Mew’s Blessing: During this log all characters will be able to communicate with each other and all Pokemon telepathically, and can resonate with them without having to use their Warp Band. They can bond with any Pokemon on the field without the aid of their warp band, so long as they can present a good reason for the enemy to do so.
Children of the Verdant Forest will be especially affected, and during this log they will have a sharp increase in their empathic feelings. They will feel the pain of the cloned Pokemon before them, the pain of being “lesser” beings, incomplete, and the pain of the knowledge that their lives will soon end, the process that created them being unable to sustain their lives.
Kindred Souls will have some empathic ability, but to a lesser degree than Children of the Verdant Forest as outlined above]

She's not used to this much negotiation. She's having to recognize impatience in herself and trammel it down - her impulse is to give up on assuming it'll listen to reason and then trap it, take it down. But Veronica can't beat this thing alone, if its master's power is any indication. She has to toe the party line.

He stares hared at the Malamar, grey eyes showing little.
"Yes, humanity has fallen in the past. But that is the nature of cycles, and history. We rise, we fall, we rise again with new hope, and more wisdom in our hearts. We can learn, if you take the time to teach. And we'll work with you to push towards a better tomorrow, if that's something you would accept. And if not..."
He looks over the others.
"I know we'll continue to push towards a brighter future regardless. The only question to be answered on this field is whether or not you'll accept a chance to salve your wounds, or not."

"He's right. Peace isn't a natural state. People and Pokemon alike come to fight one another at times... all for different reasons.
But we're on our way to building a peace between nations, people, and Pokemon that might actually last. While fully wiping out conflict is impossible, we can all still find a way to grow closer. We have a lot of work left to do, it's true, and we're not perfect."
He took a step forward, and clenched his fist in front of him dramatically, fire burning in his eyes.
"But I don't agree with you when you think it's all hopeless and that it's for nothing. Both in what we do, and in whatever burdens you carry. As long as you draw breath, and as long as you have the will, you can try to make things better. Even if both of your arms fall off and your legs are broken, you have to keep going.
Because if you give up and view everything bad as inevitable, it never will change. Hope only dies if you let it."
Sorry this is lame, I really don't think she'd say anything though, she's terse.

Fine. Show me this 'coexistance' and how far it will go. You've my interest.
...If nothing else, at least this wouldn't be boring.

It should not work. But it does. There is a heavy THOOM as Wagner the Salamence sets down in a whoosh of dust and air, striding heavily forwards until he is behind Gwendolyn and arching his neck so that he can regard the gathering as a whole. His voice is deep and gravely, and there's an impatient flick of his tail. Witness it for yourself. Then, make your choice, for it will be respected, whatever the outcome.
Gwendolyn resists the urge to rest a hand against his shoulder. He is not the most personable of dragons, and it's already a good sign that he trusts at least her enough to close the gap between them this way.

"Thank you for giving us a chance, anyway. We'll do everything we can to not let you down."
He knew that wouldn't be easy. The creature had no doubt seen hell and suffering, and it was jaded and cynical... but not so far gone that he wasn't willing to try one more time.

Veronica inclines her head but makes no further acknowledgement. She still can't quite believe they'll manage to conclude this without bloodshed.

Fine. I'll watch what you do and decide for myself. There's nothing to be grateful for.
It was just a different ending-- and it's not like that the story could go on for much longer anyway.

...well, against that thing neither she nor Nemesis can beat. A retreat would be tactically sound were it not for the fact that Veronica isn't sure whether they'll get a chance to face the armored Pokémon again. It certainly sounds like this is an all-or-nothing exchange.
So onward she limps, aching from the first psychic assault, thinking. They'll have to be clever with the next opponent.
Or her companions could talk them into submission. That might work too, but she's not counting on it.

"Now, what do we do about that one?" She grimaces, as her gaze seeks out the greater psychic pokémon, who's rage is evident indeed.

He'd already seen combat against gods, and how terrifying they were when turned against you. But this time... that one could easily best him in a direct fight. It'd be suicide to take him on, especially if he had enough power to shoot out waves of Psychic energy that practically couldn't be avoided.
To be honest? He was actually afraid of their leader. Suddenly, Orpheus's constant trembling and teleporting away at the slightest provocation made a lot of sense. He knew this was coming. And he knew just how dangerous it was going to be.
But fear couldn't win the day. The Enlightened and brave citizens of Union were all that stood between Mewtwo and oblivion.
He finally spoke though, after collecting his thoughts.
"We hope that we sent a message by refusing to fight his friend, and talking them down from the mission. And ideally, we can do the same to him.
We've convinced gods that we're worth standing beside. But this one is our problem. If we somehow created this problem to begin with, we have to answer for it... by never letting it happen again.
And we're on our way. We just have to show him that too. And we have to be completely clear of heart and conscience to do that. And I believe we are."
He remembered back to his Mom, who was a Psychic Enlightened herself... and how she could always see right through him and his siblings if they had done something wrong. Though he was always honest to begin with, it did teach him a lot about not lying to yourself either.
Who knew something like that might matter so much now?
"...We have to try. We'll fight as an absolute last resort. But we have to show him that we're not the same as the people who hurt him and his friends."
