Mewtwo Event Start
They came in a horde. Ferried by enormous water types and a huge flock of flying types, each fully evolved with strange markings across its body. They were angry. They were in pain. And they were here.
Moving across the land like a tidal wave, the horde of strange Pokemon swept across the land, making their way inexorably toward Union, and leaving devastation in their wake. At their head, a Psychic Pokemon of immense, immeasurable power. Covered in armor that did little to mask the scent of rotting flesh that accompanied it, the Pokemon’s mind seemed unburdened by the state of its body as it swept trees from their root with but a contemptuous gesture.
As the Union forces scrambled to meet the army of Pokemon, Ori, the mysterious young person who had visited before appeared in a flash.
Begone, Origin! This no longer concerns you!
The voice thundered in the minds of all present, the rage of the attacking Pokemon palpable as its horde roared in agreement.
Ori gave the Pokemon a sad smile as their body began to glow with an aura of pink light. In an instant, the human was gone, and another, much smaller Pokemon remained.
This is unnecessary. We… they can help you.
I trusted my fate to humanity once. Never again will I make such a foolish mistake.
You will see. They will show you the way.
The two mysterious stones taken from the Gigas installation appeared besides Ori, but their sheen seemed almost nonexistent. Closing their eyes, the Pokemon engulfed the battlefield in an aura of shimmering pink light. The wails and screams of the Pokemon assembled before them grew palpable. Screams of pain, screams of want, screams of beings slowly dying, grasping for a final hope that their master might cast down the accursed humans and find a cure for their malady, a way to allow them to live as whole beings.
But comprehension is not understanding. Heedless of the aura, the Pokemon advanced, a wave of destructive fury hurled to the teeth of the Union column.
[Mew’s Blessing: During this log all characters will be able to communicate with each other and all Pokemon telepathically, and can resonate with them without having to use their Warp Band. They can bond with any Pokemon on the field without the aid of their warp band, so long as they can present a good reason for the enemy to do so.
Children of the Verdant Forest will be especially affected, and during this log they will have a sharp increase in their empathic feelings. They will feel the pain of the cloned Pokemon before them, the pain of being “lesser” beings, incomplete, and the pain of the knowledge that their lives will soon end, the process that created them being unable to sustain their lives.
Kindred Souls will have some empathic ability, but to a lesser degree than Children of the Verdant Forest as outlined above]

"Diancie's gift? How?!"
He looks around, spotting the armored figure, analytical mind going full force as he tries to figure out what this means. That's why he doesn't notice the Rotom as it flies in from the city. It flits past Gordon, giving a friendly CRT-screen tingle as it passes, then stops in front of the Mega-Evolved psychics.
Wow! That's really cool. It took Mike forever to finally do that. He and Jim had to be synced up just right! You think raising him from an egg would do it-- that's a lot of spoons. Where do they all come from? Oh! Oh! What's it feel like?! Is it cool?
The Rotom flits curiously around, about as hostile as a Lillipup.
You know, Minty's artificial too, but they're much nicer. Weird! But nice! Maybe the humans can't help, but they'd definitely try.
Gordon looks back to the psychics at that.
"We would," he agrees. "We're stronger than our ancestors were. They had technology, we have unity."

Ken, for his part, stares at the transformed Pokémon with a mix of terror and longing. "The perfect...Pokémon..." he mutters to himself, trying to sit up. But he's got a bug on himself, and everything hurts, so the child might be out of useful commission for the time being.
What a tragedy.

Michiru, feeling the echoes of her Pokemon's emotions, narrows her eyes with a Nasty Plot and hits that barrier with Hydro Pump. Whatever purpose they've decided on, it still runs counter to hers.

[In fact it's one of his more glaring weaknesses. He stumbles back, head smarting and the corners of his eyes sparking before he grits his teeth and digs his heels into the ground.]
[He's about on the same ground as Michiru. This sucked for everyone all around, but they were being attacked and if something wasn't done, people were going to get hurt. He could leave diplomacy to someone else.]
[Keith summons Rangyoku, his poliwag to help Michuru's hydro pump with it's own Water Gun against the barrier, meanwhile he'll try something a little more direct and swing at it with his sword.]

Except, she wasn't going to just stand down and give up like that.
Holding tightly to one of the many trees immediately surrounding in case of another telekinetic blast like that, Pidge stared hard at the two fuming pokemon who were attacking them.
"We'll never know one way or the other unless we try," she piped up, adding onto the old Officer's words with her own earnestness.
Meanwhile, the Magnemite that hovered nearby supporting it's trainer launched a Magnet Bomb at the pair of psychic-types in an effort to get the duo to stand down.

Pathetic.
The Gardevoir, however, regards Gordon with a little more interest.
You have seen such transformations before and lived? Through what ends? What heresies have your kind committed to steal the Master's secrets?

Release the maiden.
Gordon draws his gun, training it on the Alakazam. "You heard him."
This gets the Rotom's attention, and when he realizes what's happening, an Ominous Wind blows right in the Alakazam's face.
Gun still trained on the Alakazam, attention moving to Gardrevoir only in quick flicks, he answers her question. "I don't know your master, but it was a gift to us by a god called Diancie, for proving ourselves after confronting our worst fears. If a human and their Pokémon partner are in sync, and they have a special stone, the Pokemon can transform, just like you. Enlightened that have reached a certain level of power, and reached some level of growth can do it as well. I'd show you, but Mike isn't attuned to my band."

Ken stares at the Warp Band he'd picked up only to have a way of communicating to the city whenever he wanted to find an unknowing victim. He'd known Union used these for something along those lines, but they were - rewarded for it? By a god? That's impossible. Gods don't exist. No such thing.
Unless.
"Gods," he croaks, trying to sit up - except his Wurmple and Caterpie have decided to come check on him too, so not only does he end up back on the ground, he ends up making a "whuff" sound (this is quite the substantially-sized Wurmple.) "You're...gods?"

This battle was her first time witnessing it.
In short, it was awe-inspiring.
"Or their leader, for that matter. They said they were 'created'-- haven't you been paying attention?"
no subject
You use the stones of old? Where are you finding these?
She glides forward out of the shield, eyes glowing luminously, focusing intently on Gordon and the others like she's really seeing them for the first time. Alakazam seethes, but seems alright with letting her take point. Ken? Gets ignored. Sorry scamp.
And Diancie gave you this gift? You...humans...can change as Mewtwo does to us?
no subject
"Gifts, mostly. From other civilizations, from Gods, and some of us can. The Enlightened, and similar. Don't have the gift myself. Mike... that's the Blastoise I'm partnered with, can, but I'm not Enlightened."
He glances at his companions, even as the Arcanine gently nudges Ken.
Not Gods. Just strong.

It's a good thing his brain is a bit too fried to present the whole plan to him fully-formed just yet. There's a few too many empaths around here for that. But Ken no longer seems to mind being passed over, or buried in a pile of bugs. He's too busy watching. Keeping his mouth shut, and learning all he can.

I should like to see this. I will observe. But know that if you're lying to me, I'll be back.
And then she vanishes too, presumably to report to Mewtwo.

The Arcanine nudges Michiru, giving a concerned noise, eyes on her throat.
no subject
"Thank you." Her Pokemon and Arcanine get a slightly wan smile.

"Back in Sanctuary," he mutters to himself. "Rumors."
Nothing confirmed, but he's thinking. If he can just get closer to one of these things to study it, and combine that with what has been whispered Mages have done in his city....it has to be possible, of course, nothing's impossible for him, he's the Pokémon Kaiser....
His Ralts, seeing the state said illustrious ruler is in, snaps its banner against its side and speaks up. It feels much more secure to do so without an angry Gardevoir around. Strategic retreat! it announces. They'd better get out of here before something else finds them.

After all, you didn't need fancy powers to make an impact in the world.
"You should be asking that to the kid and Ms. Kaioh-- especially Ms. Kaioh. A few scratches is nothing."
Then, turning to Michiru: "Ms. Kaioh, how are you holding up?"
Like any peppy Pidgey, she just couldn't wait.
no subject
"Ms. Kaioh is pretty tough," he says with a wink, and glances over. "She okay, Rusty."
The Arcanine nods, but hangs close, the right height to be a warm, fuzzy support if someone needs it. During disasters, it's not uncommon to see the Arcanine carrying wounded.
She will be fine. Bit sore. It's nice to be understood. The Arcanine gives a canine smile.
"It is nice."
He turns to Pidge, smiling. "I can only be in one place at a time, having partners that can prioritize and know what needs doing is important." He glances to Ken's little group of... strange, but loyal Pokemon. "Even if they are a bit odd."
The Rotom flies to hover around Gordon.
Talking about me?
