Hey, everybody!

[A red-haired girl in her late teens, perhaps early twenties, is leaning towards the Warp Band -- she'd just made sure it was on -- and flashing a smile down at it. It's bright; it's also practiced, like any true saleswoman's would be. She's done this before.]

My name's Rose. You've probably never heard of us, but we're the Spearowfeathers. We're merchants from Caldera, and we decided that we couldn't let Junes have all the fun.

[She winks.]

...So come check us out! We've set our wagon up in the business district, and we're selling some stuff we brought from Caldera -- and from Glacier, too! If you've got any special requests, you can bring those in, too.

I can also help you with trading Pokemon. I'm really good at that.

[Action, a little while later...]

[...unfortunately, things aren't going quite as well as Rose hoped. The wagon is there, sure, but the Gogoat that was pulling it got away an hour ago -- and all of the running in the world just didn't catch up to it. One of the other Spearowfeathers had been training that particular Pokemon. That leaves their wagon tipped over.]

[And with a cracked wheel, which Rose is holding up, and stuff scattered throughout the street. Spearowfeathers -- wearing their tan trousers and blue vests -- are darting to and fro, picking up goods.]

I... guess this could be going worse.

[Lenna shakes her head, still smiling warmly.]

Not at all. I'd be happy to have the company, really. Think of it as a little welcoming party for your group.

[sparrowfeathered]

Well... [Never look a gift Rapidash in the mouth, they say.] Sure! Give us a little bit to pack everything up.

[She looks back at the Spearowfeathers and calls out:] Hey! Start getting everything in the wagon. We're gonna haul it to Tycoon manor, okay? We can do it!

[my_father_is_a_tycoon]

Here, I'll have Titan help you. He can show you the way.

[Pressing a button on her Warp Band, Lenna summons her Golurk.]

Titan, can you help Rose and the Spearowfeathers get their wagon to the Tycoon estate?

[sparrowfeathered]

Hey, that's handy! [Maybe she should get a Golurk. Might help with lifting the big stuff. She puts it on her list of things to consider. Rose watches Titan for a moment, before she looks back at Lenna.]

[The Spearowfeathers are finishing up the last of the loading into the wagon, leaving it for Titan to help carry back.]

How far away is the estate?

It's near the center of town.

[In other words, where all the nobles live.]

It won't take long to get there.

Ooh, fancy. [Rose likes fancy. She looks back at the Spearowfeathers; they're ready. She grins, then looks at Lenna.] All right! I think we're ready. Let's head out.

[my_father_is_a_tycoon]

All right, let's go.

[Lenna leads Rose toward the Tycoon family estate, with Titan bringing up the rear with the rest of her crew. The house itself, when they get there, is a several story large manor decorated with Dragonite statues and other Dragon type imagery.]

Here we are!

Dang...

[Rose whistles softly as she looks at it; she stares at the house and the grounds, before she looks back at Lenna. She flashes another bright grin at her. She's impressed.]

This is pretty nice! I like the statues. You like Dragon-types, huh?

[She's curious. An Enlightened, or...?]

[my_father_is_a_tycoon]

Yes, that's right. The Tycoon family has always raised and trained Dragon type Pokemon since the time of the Savior, and every head of the family has been a Dragon type Enlightened as well.

[Also there's the tiny horns and wings that Lenna's mun totally forgot to mention. Let's say her hair has been hiding the horns and her wings were folded up underneath the coat!]

Oh--hey! So you're a Dragon-type Enlightened?

[Rose takes a bit of a closer look, too. She notices the horns, then; the wings would require Lenna to take her coat off, but... the horns are there, now that she peaks.]

That's really cool! Is your family pretty big?

[my_father_is_a_tycoon]

Oh, yes! I'm sorry... I've just gotten used to it.

[Lenna laughs, brushing a wisp of hair over her ear and revealing a bit more of one of her horns. At the question about her family, though, her smile turns somewhat wistful.]

It's just me right now. Father left to take care of some important business in the east.

Hey, no need to apologize. [There's that little flicker of guilt. She can't share what she is, right now; she's not telling people that she's also leader of the Scattered Bones. Better they think she's a normal person.]

[But... still. Rose looks about as wistful as she can. Especially at the mention of a missing father.]

I know how that is. The guy who raised me has been... away, too, for awhile.

[my_father_is_a_tycoon]

[Lenna smiles softly, nodding.]

It's all right. You couldn't have known.

[Just as Lenna has no idea of Rose's double life. She hasn't even heard of the Scattered Bones.

She opens the front door to the house, leading her inside.]

We'll take a look at the slippers while we wait for your crew to arrive, and then we can all have that hot chocolate together.

[Rose follows along. She may not be that wealthy now, but she's comfortable enough with it; her former leader and father figure made her feel comfortable with wealth, at least.]

Sounds like fun!

[She grins.] And none of us are gonna say no to hot chocolate. [She looks back at the Spearowfeathers.] Go ahead and get the wagon fixed up! We should have a spare wheel.

[There's a couple murmurs of agreement, and they get to work.]

[There's plenty of room on the grounds for them to work, so it shouldn't be a problem for the crew. In the meantime, Lenna leads Rose through the foyer and up the stairs.]

Follow me, my room is upstairs.

You bet! Lead the way!

[Rose follows after her, up the stairs. She's still looking around. Damn, Lenna, you're loaded. But... really, she's just eagerly awaiting cute slippers.]

[Her family is one of the oldest in Union, so this is pretty par for the course. But at least she's not uppity about it. Once they're on the second floor, she leads Rose down the hall to her bedroom. It's what you might expect from the daughter of a noble house - large, plush, and with lots of pink.]

Sit anywhere you like. I'll get them out.

[And she heads over to her closet to fetch the cute slippers in question.]

Here they are!

[Rose approves of all of this. Even if she could really only afford the pink. But, she's not the type to get jealous.]

Sure. [She picks a chair, and then takes a seat -- and sinks back a little. Oooo, nice. But she's perking right back up when she sees the slippers. Rose's eyes light up.]

[And squeals a bit.]

Oh, wow! Those--those are so cute! Do they work, too? They really warm you up just like that?

They do!

[Lenna giggles too, smiling brightly.]

Would you like to try them on? They really are amazing.

You bet I would!

[She's grinning ear to ear.] I gotta find a pair! Even if they're not as warm. Those are just adorable.

Well, here you go, then! Go ahead and give them a try.

[Lenna happily hands the slippers over.]

You bet! [Rose takes the slippers, though she puts them down again. She has to take her boots off first. But, then she slips her feet in, and wriggles them around, before--]

Whoa! They really do work!

[She holds her feet up, grinning down at them.] I bet I look cute, too! Maybe a little mismatched, though.

I can't start the day without them! It's so nice not to have to step out onto a cold floor on a chilly winter morning.

[Lenna seems pleased too, happy to be making a new friend.]

Well, they match your hair, at least.

No kidding! Some of the hotels and inns we've stayed at are freezing in the morning. I've never found a pair of slippers I like.

[She glances down at the slippers -- she doesn't wanna take them off, quite yet, even if she knows she can't take them home -- and then back at Lenna.]

They do, don't they? You know, though, you could get a matching set some day. Glaceon slippers, Umbreon slippers, Espeon slippers... if you get Sylveon slippers, you'd have some that match your hair!

There's nothing worse than cold toes first thing in the morning.

[Honestly, Lenna would let her keep them if she had a second pair. But she's not giving these up so easily.]

Oh, yes, that would be cute! I think I'd still like these ones the best, though. It's hard to compete with that kind of warmth.
