[Video]

Hey, everybody!

[A red-haired girl in her late teens, perhaps early twenties, is leaning towards the Warp Band -- she'd just made sure it was on -- and flashing a smile down at it. It's bright; it's also practiced, like any true saleswoman's would be. She's done this before.]

My name's Rose. You've probably never heard of us, but we're the Spearowfeathers. We're merchants from Caldera, and we decided that we couldn't let Junes have all the fun.

[She winks.]

...So come check us out! We've set our wagon up in the business district, and we're selling some stuff we brought from Caldera -- and from Glacier, too! If you've got any special requests, you can bring those in, too.

I can also help you with trading Pokemon. I'm really good at that.

[Action, a little while later...]

[...unfortunately, things aren't going quite as well as Rose hoped. The wagon is there, sure, but the Gogoat that was pulling it got away an hour ago -- and all of the running in the world just didn't catch up to it. One of the other Spearowfeathers had been training that particular Pokemon. That leaves their wagon tipped over.]

[And with a cracked wheel, which Rose is holding up, and stuff scattered throughout the street. Spearowfeathers -- wearing their tan trousers and blue vests -- are darting to and fro, picking up goods.]

I... guess this could be going worse.

Oh, I know! I'm just not sure how Yosuke might react to it...?

[Hmm. She seems worried. Rose sighs.]

I'm hoping like a professional?

[..............Yeah about that]

That's what I'm hoping but if he doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised? Although, I suppose if you need help with anything, I can do something for you?

[and somewhere, Yosuke is screaming from the distance wasn't he?]

Oh really? I'm not gonna say no!

[She's smiling -- and, really, that's somehow audible through the audio.] Like, you wanna work for us? I guess we could be hiring. Wait, I'm the boss! We're hiring if I say I'm hiring.

...Well does that mean you're hiring then?

[That and she does need the extra money right now. Sorry Yosuke]

Mm-hmm. The Spearowfeathers need people who've lived in Union, so we can get to know the market! And we have pretty good pay and a rocking benefits package!

[She winks.]

Besides, have you seen our uniform? It's great. I designed it myself!

[Plus: information on this town. Just... they have to keep the whole secret assassins/mercenary thing, well, secret.]

[In which Fuuka couldn't help but giggle]

Then mind if I see it? But if the pay is pretty good then I wouldn't mind taking the offer! But I have been living in the Union all my life!

If you need help just navigating the area, I could do that too!

[If only she knew what she was getting herself into...!!] Just tell me what you need and I'll try my best!

All right, then! Have you ever worked as a merchant before?

[Rose beams at Fuuka. She seems like she'd make a good saleswoman; cheerful and down-to-earth. But willing to chat up a stranger. That's important.]

We could use someone to help sell stuff. There's work involved, too, though! Fixing axles and wagons, stocking stuff, and getting supplies. Occasionally we run into trouble on the road. But... we're going to operate out of Union, now, so you won't have to go with the caravans every time.

We can find lots of ways to put you to work!

Um...no, I'm afraid not? I'm afraid I'm an engineer who can make a lot of stuff? I know I'm trying to make a fire stone and I made a sun stone once!

So I can try to make some more things?

[And you know, not have her parents bothering her every two seconds about why she kept on doing that but moving on!]

But if you need help getting supplies, I can do that too!

I don't think it would be too difficult with my abilities anyway! If I can find someone, there's gotta be some items around!

[A-An Engineer...? Rose boggles for a moment; she thought she was hiring a clerk and instead she finds rare talent. She quickly grins, though, and nods her head eagerly.]

An engineer? That's incredible! We could sell your stuff for you, if you want.

[She winks. The effect's a little lost, though.]

You wanna try a little of everything? That way, you can see what you like and what you're good at.

Sell my stuff? Well, I suppose I could do that but I know I am attempting to make my own business as well.

[Hmmmmmm....]

Although, I could try and attempt to do a little bit of everything to see what I can make and what I can't.

We could do business together, then! You sell through us, then we sell to people. We have a network and clients in other cities. We can work the details out, of course!

[She tilts her head to the side, considering.]

That's a good idea. Figure out what you can make, too.

[HHMMMM THIS WAS A SERIOUS QUESTION! SHE NEVER DONE BUSINESS BEFORE WAS THIS A GOOD THING???]

I don't see why not? I'll have to ask Yukiko about the details but I'm sure we can work something out! And especially if it will help all three of us later on! I'm kind of excited!

[Hopefully she was doing the right thing!]

Hmmm...is there anything specific you want right now? I'll try my best to make it as fast as I can!

Yukiko? Sure. Ask whoever you need! We'll draw up a contract when we make it official. You can let people look it over, if you want to be sure. I've done this kind of thing before.

[Oooo, though. Something to sell now...]

I'm not sure. We haven't done a lot of business here yet! Anything you've been working on lately?

Oh really? What kind of things do you do when you make some kind of contract? I'm afraid I never done this before so all of this seems so new...

[In which Rose is actually Kyuubey in disguise]

I'm currently trying to make a fire stone so would you be interested in that?

Well... there's usually a couple of parts. It says what we'll do for each other. It also spells out who gets what, when it's sold -- like what my cut for selling it for you is. It makes sure everything is fair.

[Then she nods, beaming.] A fire stone sounds great!

I see, then it doesn't sound that much different from how I train my pokemon then! As long as everything's fair, it should be okay!

[Although, a part of her was a little iffy. It seems a little too easy but...]

But as soon as I get started on those fire stones, we should be able to make some progress! Maybe we can start started on that contract by then!

[Fuuka what are you doing?]

Yeah. We've got a pretty standard one -- we've worked with smiths in Caldera. And if you wanna show it to some friends, you can do that!

[But then she hesitates.]

...Uh, you may want the contract first. It kinda comes before you do any work for someone. Otherwise, they could really take advantage of you!

Oh, I see so it comes first?

[HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM]

Then I might want to contact Yukiko first. Just in case if she has something else she wants for us.

Yeah, you got it! If Yukiko wants to talk to me, I'd be happy to.

[Rose smiles again. Then she looks awkward.] Oh, crap, I forgot my manners! I'm Rose. What's your name?

Oh, it's okay! I don't mind, I should have introduced myself sooner! But my name is Fuuka Yamagishi! It's nice to meet you!

And.I wish you the best of luck on your endeavours! Although, should anything happen between you and Yosuke, let me know. Maybe I can talk to him?

Nice to meet you, too! So you know, the usual cut we take is twenty percent -- like, we sell it, keep twenty percent of the sales, and you get eighty percent back. We can negotiate that, if you want.

[She imagines Yukiko will hear about that.]

And... yeah, sure. If this Yosuke guy gives me any trouble, I'll give you a call!

Oh that sounds like it would be a good idea! I suppose it would be fair since it is officially from our business...

But let me know how it goes for you! I'll definitely let you know once everything has been settled!
