hey! everybody else pissed off about those caves? good, cuz i'm calling for an emergency party. there needs to be some real fun around here after whatever the hell that was.

i'm still pretty new here, so suggestions on place? stuff to do??? really somebody else can handle organization, that sounds boring, i just wanted to put out the word.

Good! And likewise. Too bad it's a part of my job, but I just filed for a good long vacation. If Ceilto doesn't like it, then he can deal.

Sanctuary. I have a bit of research I want to do. A favor for a friend who told me he wanted to know more about homunculi a while back. I need to make good on that.

[Lucca doesn't bother with text. She just...wanders over towards whatever room Jack's claimed. He might be more than aware that she has been very, very subdued for the last few days. To say she's upset is something of an understatement, frankly. But it'd an old wound at least, so it'll pass just like before.

Now, though? she at least sounds happy. Or cheerful, though it's forced.]

[ when she comes into his room, Jack is lying on the floor on his back and... buried beneath a pile of Pokémon. every Pokémon companion he has thus far is just heaped on top of him. since the return from the caves, he's noticed that Lucca has been more reserved than usual, but he's been just as withdrawn as her, and far more reticent than ever before. it feels like there's no way to even begin dealing with what he had to confront in the caves, and now his usual defence of just ignoring it has been stripped away because that's the very thing he had to own up to.

the Pokémon pile isn't particularly effective, given that his friends thus far are mostly small and Pidgeotto is the only one that really covers much of him at all, but it's decent enough. Jack makes no move to extract himself, either, only shifting a little when he hears Lucca's voice. ]

You want me to go somewhere even warmer than this place? I'm already melting every time I step outside.

[She's not entirely surprised. She'd been squashed under Interceptor and Gonzales for most of the last few days. The big doofy Houndoom and Makuhita had just not been willing to accept that she wasn't her usual bundle of happy.

Chuckling, she steps in and peers down though.]

Well yeah? I can probably whip up something to keep you cool, if you think it's necessary. I've done that before, it's no trouble.

[ there is an attempt made to sit up and express his surprise, but Jack is thoroughly weighed down by the enormous bird on his chest. he gives up halfway and just collapses back down. when he asked for this pile to happen, he kind of expected he would actually be able to leave at some point, but apparently not. ]

Seriously? That might actually come in handy. I think I pretty much function like an ice cube. You know, I don't retain heat, but if I'm in a warm place, I'm doomed.

park is good! lucca just came in & suggested beach, which is NOT HAPPENING, but a park could be fun. not as boring as an indoors party + not going to actually kill me from heat.

i mean, i guess we can't improvise fireworks. i could probably get us food, but depending on how many people show up, maybe everyone can bring something!

hmmm maybe not fireworks, but there might be a fairy type that could give us a lightshow. & is that how parties normally work? everybody brings stuff??

what's a party without food? sounds like it's gonna be a deal where lots of people bring stuff in and share it around so yes, you will get fed.

Some levity is necessary, I agree. However, I think, if you wish to have a party of some sort, you should be prepared to organize it. Still, are you intending on taking any part in organizing or shall I assume you do not want to know what I will have planned?

well aside from the fact that organization is boring, i've never been to a party or seen one or anything, so i wouldn't know how to organize it.

BUT everybody seems to like the idea of a park, lux is gonna get us fireworks, totsuka said normally when there's a party everybody brings food? dunno what else needs planning.
