Iron Mines:
The trip to the eastern mountains is punctuated by the continuing aftershocks. After each one, it may be tempting to glance back at Union to see if any of the towers have fallen yet. The expedition parties move with incredible speed, knowing that the fate of their City hangs on the line.

When they reach the mountains, guided by the coordinates given of the 'strange radio signal', the parties will find that many of the normal entrances and routes have been blocked by cave-ins. In contrast, however, a gaping hole has opened up where none existed before. As this seems to be the easiest way to gain access, the parties slowly lower themselves in...

They will find themselves in the long-sought iron mines.

But there are so many twisting turns and tunnels, it will be impossible to stay together and make any sort of progress. Each group will have to take their own paths from here...

Old City:
Each of the twelve entrances down into the Old City take a different meandering route through the ruins. Though several are blocked off by this time, there are still many potential paths to take. The state of the Old City is poor, being underground as it is, and occasional soft rumblings are certain to cause unease. As the report states, however, there is enough of an interval between quakes that it should be possible to investigate safely.

It would be unwise to venture down alone, but it is impossible, too, for everyone to stay together if they wish to make headway.

Union:
The wild Pokémon continue to come out of the Old City, though the frequency has been somewhat lessened. Rubble lines the streets and though no towers have collapsed as of yet, some seem to be dangerously close and certainly nobody should be staying inside of them. As stated, the towers in Sector 3 are the worse off and construction crews work frantically to attempt to restabilize the foundations of these buildings.

The injured are innumerable, the number of casualties is as of yet unknown, and the chaos and panic is difficult to fend off.

There is a great deal of work to be done.

Regardless of threading order, mods will be responding at least once every 24 hours to keep the event moving. Groups should be three to four people in size.

At this time, all characters entering the iron mines will be able to choose to bond with a free extra Pokemon listed under 'Cavern' in the Map and Wild Pokemon post. Please respond there if you intend to make use of this. Characters who have already claimed a free Old City Pokemon may not do so.))

Are you seriously...

"I am not getting in the middle of this," She sighs, putting a hand on her hip. "I told you not to tinker with it, and that it would be a bad idea, because what if we were to set off that strange noise while you're disassembling it!"

Imogen casually slips the screwdriver into her backpack, no way is she helping Ez do this.

"So, did you know that Feliks Łukasiewicz and Fai Flourite would be attempting a similar stunt as you?" Imogen is going to ignore the crazy person doing the thing they are quite explicitly told not to do and make polite small talk with Lady Luxanna Crownguard.

This again. Her expression fell a bit, and Lux sighed. "I thought I knew that voice," She knew Feliks from the times the two had been introduced, and it would be impolite to forget him, despite the fact that he wasn't as high up on the social totem pole, as it were. "No, I had no idea. I knew that Fai and Yuui were traveling, but I had no idea that they would come all the way out here..."

"I wasn't aware they knew each other, although it makes certain things make more sense," Imogen would have to question both of her friends' partners on this subject. Feliks was not as... directly involved in the social scene, and when he was he stayed out of the way.

"You still haven't fully thought through how to hide yourself while you do these... adventures." In retrospect she probably should have called in support, not Lux. Imogen wouldn't call unwanted attention to herself, namely as she enjoys the attention.

"Certain things?" You have her curious now, Imogen, both blond and Dratini perking up. Hiding her identity could wait for a moment, this was more pressing to her.

"Stuff Babycakes and Jadwiga told me, it makes a lot more sense now." Imogen it is not nice to use your friends partners as informants. No matter how easy it is to do that with both parties.

Of course, the critical information she was missing was that both were talking of the same thing. That was kinda important.

"What kind of stuff?" Lux frowned. Was she keeping something from her? It certainly seemed like she was avoiding the question.

[for_realsies]

"Each partner told me totally different versions of the same event, the two meeting each other. It's a lot clearer now that I know what happened, because both Pokemon have... unique perspectives on things." Imogen isn't actually keeping anything, she's just being vague because she's thinking more than she's talking for once.

"And none of this is an answer to your pressing issue of how to keep your name off of your activities." Yes, Imogen gets it, you don't want to think about this yet.

Assuming there's something she's missing, the blond make a face. Don't think that this is over, Imogen. An unsolved question is one thing that she cannot, under any circumstances, leave alone for too long.

Her expression evolved, a bit, and Lux groaned. "I-I know that, but I'm not sure they'll make such a big deal about it and put out the names of everyone involved. I'm sure it will be fine! Maybe!"

Oh there's plenty you're missing, but Imogen is not having that talk anytime ever.

"Have you thought about lying? A different surname with your nickname would be enough. At least so long as you stay out of the papers." Imogen never bothered with this, but she had considered all the ways she could sneak around. But it was just easier to be honest. "I can't see it ending well for me or Ez if your parents caught on... I mean, I'll probably be fine. Natalie hates what I do, but will defend me."

"A different surname?" She blinked a few times, looking back at the other blond. "You don't have a surname, right?" At least, he never introduced himself with one, and she had known people to simply go under a given name.

Lux idly rubbed the back of her neck. "Maybe, but I'm not sure what. I've never been good with names."

"Nope. Surnames are for chumps and nobles."

[for_realsies]

"Oh look, you're paying attention."

And now Imogen ignores Ezreal again, "Yes, not all people have a surname, or manners. I suppose if you just use Lux and it might work. Luxanna is a bit... stuffy, for the commoners. It isn't very interesting though..." Imogen's middle name is creative... except for every other answer she's given for middle names in her life.

Lux huffs a bit at that. "Luxanna is not stuffy, it's a very good name!" But she was probably right.

"At least it's not as stuffy as Imogen!"

"My name is flawless, unlike yours Ezreal."

Going back to ignoring the lowborn Delver, "But my name, if I dropped my surname, wouldn't immediately lead to the Moreno family." Which is really what covered problem. Luxanna was far more likely to evoke the heiress of the Crownguards than anyone else.

She gives Ezreal a look. That was rude and uncalled for and he knew it.

Lux nods, understanding. "That makes sense. Do you think Lux would be all right, or should I try something different altogether?"
