Pokémingle 2: The Pokémingling

It's another lovely summer day! It's later in summer now and as the excitement from the previous weeks die down, another sign goes up in the local park...

Pokémingle!! Back by popular demand!

It's an open event for Pokémon of any kind! Play games, walk together, and relax in the sun! Trainers, let your Pokémon take the day off! Let's make Pokéfriends!! (^_^)

((Pokémingle returns! While the base premise is that it's a relaxing day at a park, feel free to respond with other top-level comments with what else your Pokémon might be doing around Union. No real rules about top-level threads, so if you want to include all of your Pokémon in one thread or do separate ones for a few Pokémon, go ahead. (Try not to make top-levels for 15 different Pokémon though if possible.) No trainers allowed!! Or at least, minimal trainer interference!

[ Natto wouldn't expect baby to. Here, do you want to be put on the ground? It'll be easier for him and Spritzee to play the game with you then.

He gently puts Togepi down, throws a few flowers over her, and then picks up the very largest leaf remaining. Time for him to do what only he can do. To give Spritzee a reprieve and a chance to detach that Rhyhorn, he is going to make Togepi into

an honorary Sewaddle. ] Leav.

[oh! They're moving! And hey, that's a big leaf! What's going on? Is it going to be fun?] Pri?

[ Spritzee doesn't get it either. But Leavanny is sewing faster than he's ever sewn before. Babies don't stay interested in any one thing for long, so...

Ta-da! A great big leaf hood! Do you want this, so you can match him? ] Leavanny!

[ Oh, that is an excellent idea. Spritzee hops up and down. Wear it, Togepi! You'll be green! ] Pritzee!

[hey, what's that thing? Can she eat it? She reaches up for it, even if she doesn't exactly have a sense of fashion yet. It's new! That's good enough for her to be interested!]

[ Maneuvering around those little nubby arms, Leavanny lowers the hood onto Togepi's head. Now, Spritzee!! Snip like the wind our Trainer is always talking about!!! ]

Zee! [ And she darts forth in the hopes of freeing egg and plush once and for all! Snick goes her beak.

Does she make it?? ]

[she does! The Rhyhorn plushie is finally free! Probably because eggbaby is busy trying to tug the hood off. It's in the corner of her field of vision! What is it?? She must investigate!]

[ Spritzee will abscond with the plushie, then, to finish cleaning it up. You certainly did a number on this, between the two of you....

Natto, meanwhile, looks around and spots a small decorative pond in this park. Let's go over here so you can see your reflection! See, your hood matches his!

He leans over so Togepi can get a look at what's mirrored in the water. ] Leava leav.

Pri? [is that another Togepi? Hey, what's that green thing you've got?] Toge toge pri!

[ That other Togepi looks happy to see you, Minuet. And doesn't that hood look lovely? Natto holds onto baby firmly to make sure she won't slip out and end up in the drink. Do you like it? ] Leava!

[ ....Well, Spritzee got a piece of silk off the Rhyhorn. But now it's stuck to her beak, gumming it up. ] Schbbbtzzee.

[she's burbling happily to herself and at her reflection, so maybe that sort of answers your question.]

Pri! [and hey, there's a Pokemon that looks like the green one!]

Shhhhhzzzzhhheee. [ It's almost catlike, the way Spritzee paws at her beak with a wing. Curse her tiny little legs! They don't bend up this way!!

Her hopping around finally attracts Beartic's interest, who has been daydreaming about being a beautiful lady adorned with flowers. Y-you're hopping this way. Are you okay? You're not going to be sick, right? She's not sure how she'd handle that... ] Bear.

[ Natto carefully places Togepi down by the side of the pond. You can touch the water if you're very careful, Togepi. He'll cover for you. ] Leavanny.

[and she heads straight for the water with absolutely no hesitation or sense of self preservation! This is what happens when eggbabies decide to make their homes in the hot springs, combined with almost daily visits to the pool with mommy.]

Toge! Toge priii!

[ Ah, ah, careful.....Leavanny hovers to make sure baby doesn't go too far. He steps into the pond and - eek, that's cold! Hopefully none of the fish in here have teeth. ] Leav!

[ Beartic is just staring at Spritzee. Spritzee is staring back.

Neither wants to be the one to break decorum first. ]

[whee! And she keeps walking in, even though she...definitely can't swim. Hey, hey! Where's the shiny one and the blue one? They're always around, right?]

[ Oh, no, please don't, Togepi. Don't go too far in, you haven't got your swimmy ring on....

Leavanny trails after the egg, hoping to pluck her out of the water, but his foot lands on something. He lifts it and stares. ]

Karp.

[ Oh. Uh. Excuse him? ]

Toge? [a noise! Eggbaby turns around to investigate!!

...Hey, what's that thing?] Prii?

[ "That thing" is something orange and flappy and useless. To prove this point, it Splashes with extra vigor and accomplishes absolutely nothing. ] Karp karp. Karp.

[ ....Natto now feels slightly better about his former Sewaddle self. ]

[well, they might be getting a bit wet, at least. Togepi giggles, and splashes back with her arms!

...her aim is pretty terrible, however.]

[ Natto shakes his head to get stray droplets off his antennae. Sorry about that, sir. Minuet, why don't we go back onto shore....so he can dry you off before you get muddy....and leave the nice fish alone...?

Beartic has picked up the Rhyhorn plush to examine the problem. Spritzee is looking away, pretending she hasn't gotten her beak gummed up.

It's not working. ]

[fishy seems to be splashing away from the shore! Minuet is most likely about to follow him unless Natto leads her away.] Toge, toge, toge.

Vaaaaaaa! [ Nope nope nope. Come here, Togepi. Natto hurries to, if not pick baby up, nudge her to change her trajectory and get her headed towards shore. Let's go back, okay? Back!

Beartic has identified the issue. She supposes she could fix this, Spritzee, if you asked nicely enough. She does have an idea. ] Bear.

[ Spritzee glowers. Beartic flinches, but tries to cover it. Sh-she's a lady now. She does things for people. Right? ]

[noooo. What's interesting over there, anyway? Green thing is in the way of her next great discovery!!

Eggbaby tries to dodge around Natto, but at least he has limited her to the shallow parts of the small pond.]

[ Small blessings are not high on Natto's list of things to count right now. You're going to get muddy. He can't turn in a muddy baby. It goes against his aesthetics, which ranks right up there with his ethics!

And yet he's still chasing baby around uselessly. ] Lee.

[ Spritzee's beak goes into the air. Beartic inhales, centering herself, then places a claw onto the silked-up portions of the Rhyhorn plush. Ice crystals gather, and she plucks the frozen silk right off. See? That simple. Did anything else need to be unstuck, perchance?

Spritzee nearly chokes on her own tongue. ] Scheeeeeh.

[noooo. No, no, noooo. She doesn't wanna!!! She wants to see where - ]

Toge? [she finally comes to a standstill. Where did fishy go?]

[ Fishy has flopped off to parts unknown. Life is hard enough as a Magikarp without eggs walking through his pond.

And here comes Natto, ready to whisk baby up. Wheee! Weeeee're flying!! ] Leavanny!

[ Natto is going to need a nap after all of this.

Sky has turned towards Spritzee, paws at the ready. Spritzee swallows and backs up. Uh. Beartic. You know what? She'll....figure out something else re: her beak, okay...

Beartic reaches out. Don't be silly. She's going to the trouble of socializing for you, so you should cooperate! ] Bear.
