Pokémingle 2: The Pokémingling

It's another lovely summer day! It's later in summer now and as the excitement from the previous weeks die down, another sign goes up in the local park...

Pokémingle!! Back by popular demand!

It's an open event for Pokémon of any kind! Play games, walk together, and relax in the sun! Trainers, let your Pokémon take the day off! Let's make Pokéfriends!! (^_^)

((Pokémingle returns! While the base premise is that it's a relaxing day at a park, feel free to respond with other top-level comments with what else your Pokémon might be doing around Union. No real rules about top-level threads, so if you want to include all of your Pokémon in one thread or do separate ones for a few Pokémon, go ahead. (Try not to make top-levels for 15 different Pokémon though if possible.) No trainers allowed!! Or at least, minimal trainer interference!

[ When the mun catches up on levels she'll have to give Natto extra just for today.

Natto looks around and - oh. In the time it's taken to do all this, most of the petals they'd collected have blown away. Let's go find more leaves over by the trees, maybe? Is that something babies can help with? She might like watching if nothing else....

Beartic pulls the frozen silk off of Spritzee's beak. Spritzee shakes her head, refusing to thank the other Pokémon - right away, anyway. She supposes she does owe an expression of gratitude.

But right now her tongue is numb. ] Sditzeeh.

[well, she is an honorary Sewaddle now, whether she knows it or not. And eggbabies aren't really that proficient at gathering leaves, just scattering them. She's really good at that part, though!]

[ Maybe he'll just make you a leaf pile to play in while he tries to take a breather, then. He doesn't want to impose on anybody, but if he gets all tired out he won't be able to take proper care of the baby either. It's a quandary.

Leaves first, though. A great, big, fun pile that you'll never want to leaf. ] Van.

[ Here comes Spritzee with the plushie in tow, too. She has to keep pausing to rest since she's such a little birdie, but you guys might need this! ]

Toge? [hey, whatcha doing? Have we reached our destination?]

...Pri! Toge, toge priii! [it's her toy! ~~Sorry, Spritzee.~~]

[ Yes, she brought your toy! Spritzee is all too happy to deliver the plush and then flops on the ground at Swadloon's feet. Heaven must be a crazier place than she'd thought if babies are little angels. ] Sprrrr.

[ Leavanny fishes around in the leaves and sticks a flower onto Spritzee. You did well. He's grateful. ] Leav.

[ Now, let's cover baby in leaves and hope that entertains her.... ]

[where were you looking, Natto? Because there goes Togepi, cheerfully wandering off while dragging her toy behind her.] Toge toge toge...

[ For a moment Leavanny just stares. No. Just...no. Maybe he should make a leaf cradle or something...

But that would involve having the baby with him, so off he hurries, leaving Spritzee to recover from her own ordeal. What's even over here that's caught baby's attention, anyway? ] Vaaaaaanny...

[a few stray petals in the wind should give Natto his answer. It's Lulu! She's carrying a whole bunch of flowers she saved from Vivace's stomach and it looks like they're for Natto and Spritzee's project!]

Prii! [hihi!]

[ Oh, Lulu! You are a sight for sore....everything. Natto waves, overjoyed to see his friend - both because seeing his friend is always nice and because she might have tips for dealing with baby. And she brought him supplies! He has the very best best friend. ] Leava!

[ Did you need help carrying those? Not that they're heavy, but if you want any kind of help, he's at your disposal.

...so long as baby behaves. ]

[aaand after saying her greetings, eggbaby is totally wandering past them.]

...Rose! [it's not too hard! They've got it down to a sci - Quick! Grab the baby!!]

Leavanny!! [ Natto gasps and makes a run for it. He reaches for baby. Baby slips through his hands.

But baby will find her progress impeded before long by someone else planting her big furry self in the way. A lady is good with children. ] Bear.

Pri? [baby looks up and up and then gives up and pats one of Sky's feet.] Toge! [and she's moving around the bear in an attempt to get to the other side! Sorry, but Sky isn't colorful enough for her.

Lulu looks torn. She wants to help, but she's holding all these flowers.]

[ Sky doesn't seem inclined to be of any further assistance. What is she supposed to do? The baby was supposed to stop! It listens to its human from mere presence alone just fine!!

Leavanny, meanwhile, has caught onto an Idea and is sneaking around the other side of the bear. Whoooo's a good baby? Where's the baby?

There she is! ]

[poor Sky. At least it's not too personal?

...! Oh! She loves this game!] Prii! [and she's stopped, waving up at Natto. She's here!]

[ ....of all things. Natto picks up baby, bounces her in his arms as a welcome, then sighs. Sticking you to himself might have been a better idea than he'd thought, after all...

He rounds the bear again to show Lulu the baby is safe. What does your Trainer do when she wants this child to sleep? He already tried singing. It worked okay, but not great. ] Leavanny.

[ ....Beartic debates offering to sing. A blush forms beneath her fur. She couldn't possibly!! ]

[at least he hasn't tried making a baby leash yet.]

Rooose. Selia, rose. [there's singing, and rocking, and. Oh. Quiet.

And considering how full the park is right now...]

Roselia! [oh! And if worst comes to worst, they usually grab Vivace and make her take a walk with the baby! It's probably the continuous rocking motion or something.]

[ That probably won't occur to him until Hotaru's Ralts uncovers the collar in the bedroom. If it's good enough for his Trainer, it can't be a bad idea, right?

Quiet doesn't seem to be an option right now, no. Do you think Vivace would mind? He hates bothering people on their nice day off, but if this keeps up he'll never be able to make flower corsages for people like he had originally promised. Sky has patiently been his model, and you brought him these great flowers, and everything.... ] Vanny lea.

[...goddamn it, Ralts.]

Rose! [nah, she won't mind. Lulu gives Sky her armful of flowers to hold and then hops off to get Vivace.

Besides, the only time all of Michiru's Pokemon can agree on something is when baby is fussing.

Baby, at least, is used to being held and is happily snuggling her de-silked plushie instead of causing even more trouble for Natto.

Aaand here's Lulu, followed by the horse. She's got her saddlebags on her for this express purpose, apparently.]

Bear. [ What is she supposed to...? Oh well. Sky didn't have any plans for today anyway.

Natto has also never been so happy to see anyone on fire in his life. He hurries up, rocking the baby. Hi, Vivace! Would it be okay if they put the baby in your saddlebag for a while? He can make you something out of flowers as a thank-you! ] Leavanny va vanny!

[Vivace glances over the eggbaby, before turning to her side and presenting the saddlebag with the cover pinned open and lined with a snuggly blanket. She is not responsible for any prior damages and/or mud on eggbaby before eggbaby has come into her possession.]

[ That does look comfortable. Natto looks baby over to make sure she's clean, adjusts her leaf hood so it won't get in the way (and shows itself off to best effect), and lifts the Togepi to deposit her, plushie and all, into her cute little cradle. How about you hang out with Vivace for a while? She's so nice and warm! It's such a good spot!

And the horse is a good sport. ] Leav leav.

[aaand eggbaby is fussing and immediately waddling on over to the side and trying to escape. Nooooo, she wants up!]

Pri!! Toge, toge!

[at least it's too high for baby to escape, even if she stands on the plushie - Michiru made sure of that. Lulu hops up onto Vivace's back, wiggling her flower hands enticingly in front of baby. Aren't these cool?? Aren't you distracted???

While that's going on, Vivace starts walking steadily. Looks like this is a common occurrence, and the sooner she starts walking, the sooner baby will stop.

...babysitting apparently takes some serious teamwork.]

[ That it does! Natto, who'd stretched his arms out to prematurely "spot" in case the baby took a tumble, slowly lowers them as it becomes clear that kid isn't going anywhere. You guys are really good caretakers! He's so impressed.

And he'll walk alongside Vivace just in case, to watch and make sure baby naps properly. You guys know what you're doing more than he does, but he feels entrusted with this little bundle of joy. He wants to see this through.

He snatches a stray petal out of the air, too. Can't have too many. ] Leava!

[it's definitely nap time, even if baby doesn't want to admit it. Ten minutes in, baby is finally asleep, all cuddled up to the Rhyhorn plushie and maybe covered with a few petals.]

Rose... [it's a little more than a whisper, but Vivace's ears tilt back at the signal and she continues her walk. Better make dang sure the baby will stay asleep.

Natto gets a sunny smile from Lulu.]

Selia. [thanks. Hopefully baby behaved?]

[ Natto has to think this over. Baby wasn't technically naughty on purpose, so.....hm. Finally he nods. She's curious and enthusiastic. When she's older, those will be good traits. (Plus she liked the leaf hood.) ] Van.

[ Spritzee would beg to differ, but she herself is flopped among the flower petals. The baby isn't the only one who needs a nap right now... ]
