Pokémingle 2: The Pokémingling

It's another lovely summer day! It's later in summer now and as the excitement from the previous weeks die down, another sign goes up in the local park...

Pokémingle!! Back by popular demand!

It's an open event for Pokémon of any kind! Play games, walk together, and relax in the sun! Trainers, let your Pokémon take the day off! Let's make Pokéfriends!! (^_^)

((Pokémingle returns! While the base premise is that it's a relaxing day at a park, feel free to respond with other top-level comments with what else your Pokémon might be doing around Union. No real rules about top-level threads, so if you want to include all of your Pokémon in one thread or do separate ones for a few Pokémon, go ahead. (Try not to make top-levels for 15 different Pokémon though if possible.) No trainers allowed!! Or at least, minimal trainer interference!

Bear. [ What is she supposed to...? Oh well. Sky didn't have any plans for today anyway.

Natto has also never been so happy to see anyone on fire in his life. He hurries up, rocking the baby. Hi, Vivace! Would it be okay if they put the baby in your saddlebag for a while? He can make you something out of flowers as a thank-you! ] Leavanny va vanny!

[Vivace glances over the eggbaby, before turning to her side and presenting the saddlebag with the cover pinned open and lined with a snuggly blanket. She is not responsible for any prior damages and/or mud on eggbaby before eggbaby has come into her possession.]

[ That does look comfortable. Natto looks baby over to make sure she's clean, adjusts her leaf hood so it won't get in the way (and shows itself off to best effect), and lifts the Togepi to deposit her, plushie and all, into her cute little cradle. How about you hang out with Vivace for a while? She's so nice and warm! It's such a good spot!

And the horse is a good sport. ] Leav leav.

[aaand eggbaby is fussing and immediately waddling on over to the side and trying to escape. Nooooo, she wants up!]

Pri!! Toge, toge!

[at least it's too high for baby to escape, even if she stands on the plushie - Michiru made sure of that. Lulu hops up onto Vivace's back, wiggling her flower hands enticingly in front of baby. Aren't these cool?? Aren't you distracted???

While that's going on, Vivace starts walking steadily. Looks like this is a common occurrence, and the sooner she starts walking, the sooner baby will stop.

...babysitting apparently takes some serious teamwork.]

[ That it does! Natto, who'd stretched his arms out to prematurely "spot" in case the baby took a tumble, slowly lowers them as it becomes clear that kid isn't going anywhere. You guys are really good caretakers! He's so impressed.

And he'll walk alongside Vivace just in case, to watch and make sure baby naps properly. You guys know what you're doing more than he does, but he feels entrusted with this little bundle of joy. He wants to see this through.

He snatches a stray petal out of the air, too. Can't have too many. ] Leava!

[it's definitely nap time, even if baby doesn't want to admit it. Ten minutes in, baby is finally asleep, all cuddled up to the Rhyhorn plushie and maybe covered with a few petals.]

Rose... [it's a little more than a whisper, but Vivace's ears tilt back at the signal and she continues her walk. Better make dang sure the baby will stay asleep.

Natto gets a sunny smile from Lulu.]

Selia. [thanks. Hopefully baby behaved?]

[ Natto has to think this over. Baby wasn't technically naughty on purpose, so.....hm. Finally he nods. She's curious and enthusiastic. When she's older, those will be good traits. (Plus she liked the leaf hood.) ] Van.

[ Spritzee would beg to differ, but she herself is flopped among the flower petals. The baby isn't the only one who needs a nap right now... ]

[...Natto, you are way too nice. Lulu will, however, take him at his word and nod happily from her perch.

And they slowly make their way back to their starting point. Vivace comes to a stop and then cranes her neck over to try and see how the precious little escape artist is doing.

Lulu takes a peek too, and yup. Eggbaby has somehow retracted both sets of limbs and is looking more eggy than ever. Looks like they're in the clear.]

[ Wait until he meets the Eevee. Between it, him, and Spritzee, any con artist who meets Haruka's Pokémon won't know which way to turn first. Until they run into Haruka, anyway.

Natto stands on tiptoe (more than usual) and smiles at what little of the baby he can see. That's good. He hopes she has a nice nap.

Do you need a hand getting down, Lulu? He's got his outstretched. ] Leavanny?

[ He has to ask quietly. Baby is sleeping. ]

[Lulu won't say no to that, and will take Natto's hand before hopping down.

Vivace, on the other hoof, just snorts quietly and looks around for stuff to nibble on. Preferably somewhere relatively quiet.]

[ Natto grins at his friend once she's joined him on the ground. He trusts Vivace with the baby (though he still doesn't want to go too far - he takes his duty seriously!), so now they have all this time to themselves! They can make flower decorations for everyone, and...

....baby scattered all the flowers, didn't she.

Suddenly reassembling materials sounds like a lot of work. Maybe they should do something else. Or rest up first. ] ....Van.

[ya know, you look kinda beat, Natto. Maybe you need a break?] Rose?

[though Lulu isn't sure if she should mention the ripped leaf stuck haphazardly on you, Natto.]

[ He presently lacks the fortitude to deal with that particular trauma, yes. But he tries to smile for Lulu as best he can. He's fine! He's - ] Leav! Leava leav -

[ And then he staggers. Oof. How does one little baby have that much energy...? ]

[whoa! Lulu hops forward to try and offer some support.]

Lia! [l-let's just sit for a bit.

...this might be why they almost always work in teams when babysitting.]

[ Sit? But...

...well, okay. You probably do know best. Leavanny settles down, grateful for his friend's concern. You ladies are really responsible for baby like this all the time? ] Van leava?

[Lulu happily sits down too. And nah, not all the time. Just sometimes! Though the 'sometimes' seems pretty consistent...] Rose, roselia.

[but yeah, but it's really easy if you get Waltz or Melody to help out!] Selia!

Lea! [ Oh, he can see that! They are such mature, responsible Pokémon. He admires their grace.

...Actually, he admires all of you. Natto looks down at his hands, idly beginning to make cat's cradles with some silk just to occupy his arms. Artists gotta art. ]

[n-nah, it's just easier to trap baby when you've got Teleport or if you're long enough to form a baby pen.] S-selia!

[you've got no lack of admirers yourself, Natto. Lulu has always been one of your biggest fans. Even the cat's cradles fascinate her.]

[ Oh, you like these? Leavanny holds up his current masterpiece. See, it looks like a bridge now, right? But if he twists this and pulls this and moves his arms - ta da! It's a building! ] Leavanny!

[ ...Do you think baby would like this, too? He knows he did an okay job babysitting, but he did almost get baby really sticky. He wants to prove his worth at some point by looking after the child without incident. ]

[Lulu claps her flower hands together at the small show! That sort of dexterity kinda fascinates her.

...well, she's noticed that baby isn't usually content with just watching so playing cat's cradles with her probably won't end well.] Rose...

[ Lulu has a point. Active baby requires interactive play. Was that his problem? He tried to entertain the baby when she really just wanted to play with him? That makes sense. ] Vanny.

[ Look, if he knots the string and loops it around itself enough times, he can make a snowflake! That Lulu can wear as a decoration if she is so inclined. ]

[whoa! She'd totally wear it, especially if he makes it into a sort of necklace.] Rose!

[geez, Natto. How much time do you spend practicing this?]

[ They're between productions. He has no costumes to work on, so he's been learning different types of sewing-y crafts in the hopes they'll come in handy when the humans finally need him. Plus, it means he can give increasingly fancy gifts to his friends!

Like this necklace. The silk is thin enough it shouldn't be sticky. Natto places it around Lulu's neck and beams. It looks so great against all your green! ] Lea leava!

[aw! She gives Natto a quick hug and looks at it admiringly. Yup, she's hopping up to (quietly) show Vivace. This is definitely a good day.]

[ Natto grins, watching. If Vivace wants a craft too, he could probably oblige, even if it'd take him a bit longer to make something larger....

...but if not, he might nap too. It's been a long day. ]
