Pokémingle 2: The Pokémingling

It's another lovely summer day! It's later in summer now and as the excitement from the previous weeks die down, another sign goes up in the local park...

Pokémingle!! Back by popular demand!

It's an open event for Pokémon of any kind! Play games, walk together, and relax in the sun! Trainers, let your Pokémon take the day off! Let's make Pokéfriends!! (^_^)

((Pokémingle returns! While the base premise is that it's a relaxing day at a park, feel free to respond with other top-level comments with what else your Pokémon might be doing around Union. No real rules about top-level threads, so if you want to include all of your Pokémon in one thread or do separate ones for a few Pokémon, go ahead. (Try not to make top-levels for 15 different Pokémon though if possible.) No trainers allowed!! Or at least, minimal trainer interference!

[ Ah, ah, careful.....Leavanny hovers to make sure baby doesn't go too far. He steps into the pond and - eek, that's cold! Hopefully none of the fish in here have teeth. ] Leav!

[ Beartic is just staring at Spritzee. Spritzee is staring back.

Neither wants to be the one to break decorum first. ]

[whee! And she keeps walking in, even though she...definitely can't swim. Hey, hey! Where's the shiny one and the blue one? They're always around, right?]

[ Oh, no, please don't, Togepi. Don't go too far in, you haven't got your swimmy ring on....

Leavanny trails after the egg, hoping to pluck her out of the water, but his foot lands on something. He lifts it and stares. ]

Karp.

[ Oh. Uh. Excuse him? ]

Toge? [a noise! Eggbaby turns around to investigate!!

...Hey, what's that thing?] Prii?

[ "That thing" is something orange and flappy and useless. To prove this point, it Splashes with extra vigor and accomplishes absolutely nothing. ] Karp karp. Karp.

[ ....Natto now feels slightly better about his former Sewaddle self. ]

[well, they might be getting a bit wet, at least. Togepi giggles, and splashes back with her arms!

...her aim is pretty terrible, however.]

Lea!

[ Natto shakes his head to get stray droplets off his antennae. Sorry about that, sir. Minuet, why don't we go back onto shore....so he can dry you off before you get muddy....and leave the nice fish alone...?

Beartic has picked up the Rhyhorn plush to examine the problem. Spritzee is looking away, pretending she hasn't gotten her beak gummed up.

It's not working. ]

[fishy seems to be splashing away from the shore! Minuet is most likely about to follow him unless Natto leads her away.] Toge, toge, toge.

Vaaaaaaa! [ Nope nope nope. Come here, Togepi. Natto hurries to, if not pick baby up, nudge her to change her trajectory and get her headed towards shore. Let's go back, okay? Back!

Beartic has identified the issue. She supposes she could fix this, Spritzee, if you asked nicely enough. She does have an idea. ] Bear.

[ Spritzee glowers. Beartic flinches, but tries to cover it. Sh-she's a lady now. She does things for people. Right? ]

[noooo. What's interesting over there, anyway? Green thing is in the way of her next great discovery!!

Eggbaby tries to dodge around Natto, but at least he has limited her to the shallow parts of the small pond.]

[ Small blessings are not high on Natto's list of things to count right now. You're going to get muddy. He can't turn in a muddy baby. It goes against his aesthetics, which ranks right up there with his ethics!

And yet he's still chasing baby around uselessly. ] Lee.

[ Spritzee's beak goes into the air. Beartic inhales, centering herself, then places a claw onto the silked-up portions of the Rhyhorn plush. Ice crystals gather, and she plucks the frozen silk right off. See? That simple. Did anything else need to be unstuck, perchance?

Spritzee nearly chokes on her own tongue. ] Scheeeeeh.

[noooo. No, no, noooo. She doesn't wanna!!! She wants to see where - ]

Toge? [she finally comes to a standstill. Where did fishy go?]

[ Fishy has flopped off to parts unknown. Life is hard enough as a Magikarp without eggs walking through his pond.

And here comes Natto, ready to whisk baby up. Wheee! Weeeee're flying!! ] Leavanny!

[ Natto is going to need a nap after all of this.

Sky has turned towards Spritzee, paws at the ready. Spritzee swallows and backs up. Uh. Beartic. You know what? She'll....figure out something else re: her beak, okay...

Beartic reaches out. Don't be silly. She's going to the trouble of socializing for you, so you should cooperate! ] Bear.

[hey, she doesn' - oh! Whee!! This is fun! And eggbaby is giggling and kicking her legs in midair.]

Toge! Toge prii! [faster!!]

[ Oh, you like it. You want more. Okay, let's "fly" on over to Spritz...

Natto stares as ice forms around Spritzee's beak. No, let's. Let's fly in this direction instead. Wheeee!!! (Please be okay, Spritzee. He'll feel awful if you aren't.) ] Leeeeeeeeeavaanny!

[eggbaby has no objections to their sudden change in flight paths and is back to burbling happily to herself.

Natto is getting a lot of exercise today, apparently.]

[ When the mun catches up on levels she'll have to give Natto extra just for today.

Natto looks around and - oh. In the time it's taken to do all this, most of the petals they'd collected have blown away. Let's go find more leaves over by the trees, maybe? Is that something babies can help with? She might like watching if nothing else....

Beartic pulls the frozen silk off of Spritzee's beak. Spritzee shakes her head, refusing to thank the other Pokémon - right away, anyway. She supposes she does owe an expression of gratitude.

But right now her tongue is numb. ] Sditzeeh.

[well, she is an honorary Sewaddle now, whether she knows it or not. And eggbabies aren't really that proficient at gathering leaves, just scattering them. She's really good at that part, though!]

[ Maybe he'll just make you a leaf pile to play in while he tries to take a breather, then. He doesn't want to impose on anybody, but if he gets all tired out he won't be able to take proper care of the baby either. It's a quandary.

Leaves first, though. A great, big, fun pile that you'll never want to leaf. ] Van.

[ Here comes Spritzee with the plushie in tow, too. She has to keep pausing to rest since she's such a little birdie, but you guys might need this! ]

Toge? [hey, whatcha doing? Have we reached our destination?]

...Pri! Toge, toge priii! [it's her toy! ~~Sorry, Spritzee.~~]

[ Yes, she brought your toy! Spritzee is all too happy to deliver the plush and then flops on the ground at Swadloon's feet. Heaven must be a crazier place than she'd thought if babies are little angels. ] Sprrrr.

[ Leavanny fishes around in the leaves and sticks a flower onto Spritzee. You did well. He's grateful. ] Leav.

[ Now, let's cover baby in leaves and hope that entertains her.... ]

[where were you looking, Natto? Because there goes Togepi, cheerfully wandering off while dragging her toy behind her.] Toge toge toge...

[ For a moment Leavanny just stares. No. Just...no. Maybe he should make a leaf cradle or something...

But that would involve having the baby with him, so off he hurries, leaving Spritzee to recover from her own ordeal. What's even over here that's caught baby's attention, anyway? ] Vaaaaaanny...

[a few stray petals in the wind should give Natto his answer. It's Lulu! She's carrying a whole bunch of flowers she saved from Vivace's stomach and it looks like they're for Natto and Spritzee's project!]

Prii! [hihi!]

[ Oh, Lulu! You are a sight for sore....everything. Natto waves, overjoyed to see his friend - both because seeing his friend is always nice and because she might have tips for dealing with baby. And she brought him supplies! He has the very best best friend. ] Leava!

[ Did you need help carrying those? Not that they're heavy, but if you want any kind of help, he's at your disposal.

...so long as baby behaves. ]
