Gaming news today. The Rhyhorn arena's hosting a big Pokémon race. If it runs, and you can fit on it, you're welcome to participate, though there'll be other races for the smaller ones too.

We'll be putting up flyers with the details. [ It's hard to read the flyer that's being waved about onscreen, however. Probably because the Pokémon doing the waving isn't much bigger than the flyer itself. ] Sewa!

[ ...Yes, you're a big help. Haruka slowly pushes Sewaddle out of the frame. ] I'll be seeing you all in the wind this time, kittens.

[ A wink, and she's gone. Why is it always her. Why is she always the one doing advertisements? Could it be she's a naturally gifted salesman? Is this her true calling?

She doesn't want that... ]

[ As promised, Haruka and her Sewaddle are plastering the town with flyers - or, well, Sewaddle is putting them up at bug-level with silk while Haruka wanders around with another pile tucked under her arm. Every now and then she hands one out.

You could also encounter one of the following pairs of Pokémon helping to advertise elsewhere:

-- A Murkrow slapping people in the forehead with flyers to get their attention while a Cubchoo tugs on others' shirt hems and bashfully offers a flyer with a quivering "Cub?".

-- A Pidgeotto dropping flyers much more gently than Murkrow while a Rotom looks on in amazed admiration. Mother is so clever.

Or, if you're a Divine Theater member, you can meet Haruka collapsed in a mess hall chair after the fact! Sewaddle is fanning her with a folded-up flyer. He is innovative. ]

[ It's slang for a small Espurr but she uses it when talking to girls, okay. Don't question it.

She smiles a bit.]

Maybe. I've never been in a race before, so I'm not sure. Usually I'm in the crowd.

[And probably one of the loudest ones there, truth be told.]

[and that is a tall glass of lemonade being placed in front of you, ice gently clinking against each other even as beads of condensation run down its sides. And that is also a towel being draped over your head. Turnabout's fair play, after all.]

[and that's Lulu, hopping up onto the table to join Natto. Hi!]

Marketing's everything.

[ Accepting the towel, Haruka nods in thanks for the lemonade while Natto greets his friend. He just cannot get over how pretty you are now, Lulu! Every time he sees you he is impressed anew. He hopes he sprouts flowers when he evolves. ] Sewa waddle!

[ Haruka takes a pensive sip. This is exactly what she needed. ]

....Michiru?

[Lulu thinks that is sure to happen. Because hey, if it happened to her, it can totally happen to him! And then they can match!]

Hm? [she pulls up a chair, sipping from her own drink]

Hey, are you okay?

[Ruby's Skitty was the first one to notice, but Ruby had followed her over. Skitty jumps up onto her lap and mews cutely, trying to be refreshing and adorable while Ruby is more useful, giving her a bottle of water.]

It's really hot today, were you out in the sun or something?

Sort of. [ It's the new kid; what's his name again? Not Garnet. Ruby. There we go. It'll be interesting seeing what he's made of.

Haruka sips from the water bottle. That feels refreshing. ] Thanks. You're considerate.

[ A grin for the Skitty, too. ] Both of you.

[Yeah ok Ruby that's what you should care about. Coco mews happily up at the handsome young woman, giving off that Cute Charm.]

[Oh hi Haruka, Hawke will just accept that paper you're handing him...]

[Hawke's just gonna skim-read through the flier Haruka handed to him, now.

Meanwhile his faithful pack of puppies crowd around Sewaddle and Haruka's feet, investigating! Sergeant and Paladin remember Sewaddle from Hawke's makeover in the park, and cheerfully introduce him to Scout the Vulpix and Captain the Growlithe.]

[ Hello yourself. She'll give you time to look that over, Hawke - all the better to count the noses crowding her. One, two... ]

The pack's grown. [ She grins at the dogs she knows first, but Sewaddle waves to everypuppy as he wriggles over. Hi, dogs! Hi! Do you all want flyers? ] Sewa sewa!

[It's a gorgeous day and Setsuna is out to enjoy some time back in Union City and time to bond with some of her younger and newer Pokemon. She wanted to spend some time in the shops too, but walking around with a Darumaka clinging to her leg was proving to be more tiresome. She wasn't sure she'd be able to carry bags like this. A Duskull swooped down from the sky and swirled around Setsuna's head. He seemed excited about something.]

Hades? What is it?

Daru, daru! [The Darumaka looked up at Hades with a grin and a question.]

[Hades flew behind Setsuna and started pushing her towards the corner. It was there that she noticed Haruka and Sewaddle handing out and putting up fliers. Hades stopped pushing and floated past her to the pair. He was curious about what they were doing and he wanted Setsuna to investigate too.]

Hello Haruka, Natto. What are you two up to?

Sewa!!

[ Sewaddle responds first to Setsuna's approach, brightening visibly and crawling up to her and Darumaka, who is offered a flyer. Are you fast? Do you like to run? And will you be his friend, too? Setsuna already is. You're a lucky Pokémon.

Haruka gives him a glance - don't be pushy - then shrugs and hands Setsuna a flyer, too. ] Old careers die hard. They think they can drag me out of retirement.

[ She....doesn't sound exactly happy about that, though her usual glib nonchalance is firmly in place. ]

[There's a small Togepi waddling after Haruka and Sewaddle, desperately trying to catch up. She's holding one of the flyers in front of her in both hands, barely able to see over the top of it.

[ Sewaddle notices first - perhaps because the commotion is more at his eye level. What's going...

Oh. Oh, my! You're in a hurry. He turns to address the Togepi. It's okay. You can keep it if you want! They're giving them to people, because giving things is way nicer than keeping them for themselves. ] Sewa. Sewa sewa. Sewa wad waddle. Swad!

[ Haruka is sticking a flyer in a small business's mailbox and doesn't seem to have noticed Togepi yet. ]

I think you said the secret word. How do you sign up?

[ A budding racer! That's what she likes to see. Maybe chairing this silly endeavor won't be so bad after all. Haruka grins and tries to peer around the Trapinch - oh, okay, that's better. ] You're halfway there. What're your names?

Sewa! [ Yes, thank you, Sewaddle. She was going to need that pen, it's nice of you to fetch it so you can get back in the screen and wave at the other Pokémon. Hi! ]

[Kaido hasn't seen the warp band transmission--but Floette has. So when she gets a glimpse of Haruka and Sewaddle plastering flyers, she all but drags him there.

Flying forward first, heeeeeeeeeeeey 8D. Sewaddle how are you? Haruka how are you? Isn't it great to be home?]

[ Oh goodness, it's Floette!! Sewaddle drops his flyer in his pleasant surprise. And - and - is that your human?! He's impressive! ] Sewa! Sewa waddle wad!

[ Haruka looks over and....hi, Floette. Good to see you still get along with the bug. A grin for Kaido. ] So you're her gardener.

[Just to be different, Rise runs into Haruka around town earlier in the day. The younger girl is actually leading around her Rhyhorn, Rock, who is serving admirably as a conveyance for Rise's weekly groceries.]

Hey, Haruka! Oh, are those flyers for the race thing?

[ What a magnificent creature. Haruka hadn't pinned you for the Rhyhorn type, but at least that makes this easier: it guarantees you have something to ride.

She hands Rise a flyer so the other girl can see that yes, it's about the race. Sewaddle looks up at Rock in confusion for a moment. You are not World Shaking. Huh. ] Does your helper like to run?
