[Anyone passing through Union's parks today will likely happen upon a somewhat odd sight. Merrill is sitting on a bench, leaning forward with her hands on her knees and staring with great interest at a Sawsbuck. The Sawsbuck doesn't seem to be doing anything terribly interesting, splitting its time roughly equally between staring back at Merrill, standing and looking regal as it listens for potential danger, and grazing lightly on the grass. Despite this, however, its trainer's attention remains absolutely riveted on the Pokemon, as if she's expecting it to do something amazing any moment now.]

Oh, I can't wait...!

[Wearing his normal Commander robes, Swain is wandering Union admiring the decorations and festivities. But lo! Something is different. It's hard to put your finger on it, exactly, but if one had to guess it's probably the extremely elaborate Murkrow mask he's wearing. Ever-faithful Beatrice is perched upon his shoulders as usual, but she's making quite the ruckus. As such, little children can be seen fleeing whilst sobbing. Noticing this, he removes his mask with a bit of a perplexed expression]

Too much, perhaps?

[Martin is on the Band today, looking a bit tired but happy]

We are still working, but I am very pleased to announce that as of today, the Redwall Sanctuary and Charity, located in the Residential District, can finally start accepting residents, thanks in no small part to the wonderful donations of Lenna Tycoon and the citizens of Union. I've mentioned it a few times before, but for anyone who doesn't know, Redwall has been something I've wanted to start for some time now. Thanks to volunteers and the donations, Union now has a completely non-profit organization that houses new arrivals or others in need of secure living arrangements on a temporary or possible permanent basis, offers them assistance in finding jobs in the city, and otherwise covers what temples, churches, and private citizens alone can't cover. Come spring, I hope to have a community garden started [in the background, Laterose cheers because plants] and begin hosting fundraisers to keep Redwall open.

[He is clearly so proud of this, he can't stop smiling]

It's currently being funded entirely from the donations of Ms. Tycoon and my own...retirement from the Swords-- [His Spritzee chrips and Martin sighs] --and from Noonvale's Perfumery's profits, which is now located on the Redwall grounds in what will be the flower garden. All other donations would be greatly appreciated, and while I can't promise payment any and all volunteers are welcome...as is anyone in need of a hot meal. [Thank you, Matthias]

[There's posters around town announcing the opening of Redwall today, and anyone who stops by to visit will find Martin there, working with the builders and volunteers to finish cleaning up and placing orders for seedlings in the spring. Come stop by!

He has harsh features that are dulled somewhat by a kindly smile, but he is clearly a man who has seen great hardship and strife in his life. Perched on his shoulder is a somewhat mangy looking Murkrow who is staring at the camera intently, and with something of a sinister-seeming gaze]

Greetings, people of Union. My name is Jericho Swain, a Commander formerly of the Sanctuary resistance and now with the military proper. I have been elected by the council to serve as a liaison, an ambassador of goodwill, if you will, between our people. I have extensive experience working with resistance forces and, if it not be immodest of me to say, have attained a certain degree of regard among the other fighters. Sanctuary hopes that sending one such as myself will help demonstrate its desire to cooperate and uphold our agreements with the city of Union.

I have been fully briefed on your standards and culture, so much as we have knowledge of them. To show my commitment to our open relations, I have released all of my prior Pokemon from their Pokeballs and service. All, that is, save my dear Beatrice, who has been with me since my youth and refused to leave, not that I've a Pokeball to release her from anyway. Henceforth, I shall only bond with Pokemon in the Union tradition. I hope this shows that the city of Sanctuary, and myself especially are serious about our commitments to your fair city. If you've any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I am holding an office within the council tower at this moment in time, and will keep hours regularly to speak with people as I am able.
