Taking Out The Trash
Who: Squid Girl, Arietta, Absol, Chester, Apollo, Pamela, and Rise
Where: The ocean's shore and a cave full of Trubbish
When: April 29th
What: Cleaning up the ocean
Warnings: Two groups here - one keeping the Trubbish back while the other dams up the hole they're coming through. Going with no particular thread order here, just to keep things running smoothly and so threads don't get bogged down. Post when you can and we'll just work through it as we go.
It's been about a week since Squid Girl discovered the horrifying cave full of Trubbish that feeds into the ocean via underground river, periodically dumping walking bags of toxic waste into her natural habitat. And naturally, as a proud denizen of the deep, she's decided to do something about it. So today Squid Girl has returned with a crack squad of environmental freedom fighters - or just the first six people she could wrangle into helping with this plan. Either one is good enough for her.
"Okay, shut your beaks and listen up! We're here to save the ocean from getting even more cluttered up with these Trubbish suckers! Through careful inkfiltration, I've located their secret base in a cave not far from here! We'll split into two teams - one team will go into the cave and make sure no more Trubbish come through, and the other team will dive underwater to dam up the hole they're coming through! I have prepared lumber from the Verdant Forest and tools from the city for us to use. It won't be easy, but we're doing somefin gilly important here - somefin that will be remembered by generations of Water Pokemon to come! So what are you all waiting for? Let's get kraken!"

Actually, Squid Girl...if you could swim down and use this to measure the height and width of the hole, that would be the first place to start.
[An Engineer would even double and triple check that, but they're not making anything advanced.]

[Nodding, Squid Girl extends a tentacle over to where Pamela is standing to grab the measuring tape, playing with it for a moment before nodding to herself.]
Be back in a sec!
[And down she goes, diving back into the water and stretching the tape out with her tentacles to measure the hole's diameter.]

This is illustrated by the Sharpedo hovering around the hole as Squid Girl approaches with the measuring tape, drawn by the scent of fresh squid.]

Okay! Okay... Um... ummm... ch-change of plans!

[Now Pamela really wants to know how many are down there. But it's best to address the more immediate concern.]

[She's still a little freaked out, but three Gyarados on her side is a pretty good idea.]

[She does motion for Hydrangea to stay close, though. She's just a baby, and while Pamela's confident that Sweet Pea, Sage and Pine are strong enough to protect her, she feels better knowing her little Azurill is nowhere near the Sharpedo.
Giving her instructions through the warp band, she tells Sweet Pea to stay beside Squid Girl.]

[She's still not completely sure about this, but hey, why not. If one Gyarados can save her from a pack of Sharpedo, then surely three at once can keep her safe. Taking an unnecessary deep breath, she dives back down under the waves, motioning for the Gyarados to follow her.]
...A-attention, Sh-Sharpedo! This is S-S-Squid Girl, m-m-messenger of the sea, speaking to you!
[Definitely demonstrably afraid over here.]

While the opening is wide enough for several Sharpedo to slip in side by side, three 21 feet long Gyarados is stretching it pretty hard. Squid Girl will probably need to make do with one at her side while the other two line up behind her. The Sharpedo, in response, are clever enough to understand that they're pretty screwed if the Gyarados exit out into the ocean; they huddle around the opening to create a chokepoint.]

...Honestly they didn't really know what she was talking about. They travel all around the entire ocean seasonally; hole schmole whatever.
The hole is smelling pretty good right now though :) ]

Gyarados may be strong, but high level Sharpedo are nothing to sneeze at, either.]
no subject
[Yeah, that definitely hurt. But she's not down for the count yet.]
Let's see how you like it!
[Lashing out with her tentacles, she launches a Payback attack - with double the power since she's already been hit.]

Something along the lines of snickering happens as it flits back to its friends.
It doesn't even bother to lower its voice as it declares that if two of them attack together, they could easily take her while the others kept the Gyarados distracted. ...Of course, if she wanted to appease their appetites with a Gyarados sacrifice - large enough to feed more of their pod - they were listening, too.]
no subject
[Squid Girl winces at the pain, but she's got something to prove here.]
no subject
Sharpedo Pod has challenged Squid Girl to a rotating Double Battle! ...Or something anyway who really knows but only two Sharpedo can fit through the hole at once.
The idea is obviously to murder Squid Girl and then get out as they both launch themselves at the poor Malamar.]
((I'll wait for the other Gyarados-controllers now!))

Oh, she's in trouble...Namazu, head down there and protect her, okay?
[Rise slips into the water and starts treading in place while Namazu roars and dives down to protect Squid Girl and that handsome male Gyarados. Meanwhile, Rise calls Himiko through her Warp Band.]
Get ready to swim just in case they need some more help down there, okay girl?
no subject
Sweet Pea, I need you to get ready to back them up, all right?
[Sweet Pea lets out a growl to indicate that she understands and she's ready to fight if need be, and lines herself up beside Namazu. Meanwhile, Pamela stays near the edge, but doesn't slip into the water just yet. She's been able to control plants before...she wonders if she can get any sea weed to help fend off the Sharpedo.]

Still like your chances?
(ooc: Didn't know if the mods wanted me to post again before the battle starts or not, so here it is just in case.)
