After an unusually long and cold winter, the land is finally beginning to stir in the anticipation of spring. In the forest, the first flowers are beginning to peek out of the ground, the hum of Bug Pokémon begin to be heard, and of course, the first wisps of pollen begin to incite misery amongst the more sensitive of the population. The sun sets later and later each night, and at the end of a long workday, the prospect of escaping early to enjoy a stroll out in the brisk spring air becomes more and more enticing.

The pall cast by Team Evolution has long faded into little more than a distant cloud on the horizon. Though the mystery of 'Mega Evolution' remains unsolved, it seems inconsequential in the face of the strength that Union itself is gaining. All damage from the earthquakes has finally been fully repaired, production of iron and steel has been greatly enhanced by the discovery of the mine, there were plans to build a new port and to enhance the range of the Signal Tower, Enlightened and Pokémon everywhere were evolving one after another... On the whole, morale was high.

The city takes it upon itself to reflect this.

When the people of Union begin to stir early one spring morning, they will awaken to discover a cheerful city, indeed. All of Union, overnight, has become covered with vines and shrubs and flowers - plant life, everywhere the eye could see. Though the majority haven't yet begun to flower, the rainbow assortment of buds promises a lovely sight to come in the near future. A few citizens, annoyed, set to work removing the intrusive flora from their properties, but the majority simply take the unusual sight for what it is.

And for the particularly observant, dotted here and there among the landscape, the occasional large pink blossom can be spotted already in full bloom...

[Usagi's enthusiasm gets a smile from Michiru]

It is quite incredulous. [so incredulous that she's going to hide that worry.] I can't say I've seen anything like this before.

[the Budew peeks out from around Michiru's ankle. At least it doesn't look like anybody is going to eat her, but she's still loathe to leave the safety of her trainer at the moment.]

Pinky and I are planning on looking for full grown flowers for the house! Aren't we-- ... Pinky?

[ Usagi's glanced upwards to where she thinks her Cleffa is, and is instead greeted with empty air. She blinks in confusion before she hears the soft thump of Pinky jumping onto the ground.

When Pinky's sure she's on the ground safely, she starts bounding towards that Budew that's too shy for words. That's when Usagi notices what Pinky is heading for. ]

Ah! Is that a new friend you've got, Michiru?

That might take a few days yet, though I've seen some pink flowers that have bloomed.

[she glances down at Budew and quietly laughs, hand coming up to hide her smile.

Michiru takes a step over to the right and then back, exposing the Budew but then kneeling down and placing a hand on the Pokemon's back for reassurance.]

This is Lullaby, Lulu for short. [glancing at the Budew] Say hello to Usagi and Pinky.

Dew! [Budew complies obediently and is apparently already regaining some of her cheer. Her trainer probably won't introduce her to things that will eat her, right?]

[ Kneeling down, Usagi gets as much to the same level as the Budew and waves in greeting, all the while flashing a friendly smile to the pokemon. ]

Hi Lulu! It's nice to meet you. [ Pinky finally makes it over to the Budew and stares at it curiously before glancing up at her human partner. ] This is Pinky and I'm Usagi. Say hi, Pinky!

Cleffa!

[ For a moment, Pinky seems to think before reaching one paw out to Lulu while the other paw points up at the vine trellis. ]

Clef cleffa (You want to climb up with me?)

[Budew proceeds to give Usagi and Pinky a cute smile and then practically beams when Pinky invites her to go play. She glances up at Michiru and gets a smile in return.] Deeew. [yaaay this is gonna be fun!

Michiru straightens up with a smile.] She's a bit timid, but she'll warm up to you quickly enough.

[ And like that Pinky just takes the lead and finds a good spot for the Budew to start hopping up to the top of the trellis, and is even taking the time to help it up since it doesn't have any paws to grab onto anything!

Usagi just laughs in amusement at how adorable the two of them are being. ]

She's so adorable! When did you get her?

[Budew follows happily, hopping along, though those protective buds remain carefully closed.

Michiru chuckles in response.] About a couple of weeks ago. We happened upon a Murkrow chasing a Budew and decided to step in.

Oh no! That's terrible!

[ Pinky continues to help Lulu to the top. Once they make it, she stands up tall and enjoys the view before sitting down. A good trek deserved a good rest. ]

What ever happened to the Murkrow?

[Budew (carefully) does a celebratory pirouette before flopping down and sitting next to Pinky. It's been such an awesome day!

Michiru smiles.] Haruka took a liking to it. I would assume she's been teaching it some manners. [since Budew hasn't been pecked at]

I see!

[ Usagi just giggles to herself, silently agreeing that a Murkrow did fit Haruka's personality... what she had seen at least.

Pinky seems to have taken a liking to Budew and is even pointing out lots of little different things that really, only pokemon notice. ]

I'd like to meet it one day!

I'm sure you'll get the chance.

[either way, she's still curious about the extent of this crazy plant growth. ]

Are you going anywhere in particular or would you like to walk with us?

[Lulu seems to appreciate it, adding in all the stuff she had seen and heard today. Looks like it doesn't take much for Budew to decide to like somebody.

The Pokemon pauses for a moment though, and peers down at her trainer. Are they going?]

Sure! We'd love to walk with you guys!

[ Usagi glances up at the pokemon up on high, and both she and Pinky smile at each other in agreement. ]

Are you heading anywhere in particular? Or are you just enjoying the sights too?

[that gets a smile as she walks on over to the trellis, holding her arms out for Budew to hop down.]

Not really. It's so widespread, I grew curious and I wanted to see how far the scenic route would take me.

[Budew looks down in trepidation, takes a few steps back, steels herself, and then runs right off the trellis with eyes shut tight. Michiru catches the pokemon easily enough.] Bu!
