Who: Everyone!
Where: The newly discovered island
What: After recent events, the people of Union could use a bit of R&R. What better place than a tropical island?
Warnings: Drinks with little umbrellas in them, swimsuits, idek
An island paradise, discovered just off the southern coast, less than a day's travel from the city. A strong enough Pokemon could easily carry their partner and others out there. It was hard to say just who sent the original message, but pictures surfaced, with the tagline "Don't you wish you were here," came over the warp bands' feeds, and, like Venomoths to the flame, people began clamoring toward this new found tropical get-away. Those who wanted to go would find it easy enough--with so many people making their way to investigate, for whatever reason they claimed (but let's be honest, it was probably the beach), one could just hitch a ride.
The island itself appeared untouched by human contact. The Pokemon were strange and different compared to the fare immediately around Union. A warm breeze blew through palm trees, carrying the scent of hibiscus flowers. The water, blue as the summer sky, was warm and inviting.
This truly was a paradise.

looks like the perfect time to me
[Intent on safeguarding his pack, he hasn't noticed Flemming yet.]

Flemming finally notices something is amiss at the hiss, turning around to pick up the Purrloin, who immediately switches into giving a very cute look, purring at him. It's entirely an act, but Flemming is a bit too dense to realize it.]
Lady! You shouldn't bother people!
[And then he notices who it is.]
Oh. Hello, Jade.

if much less cute, the illusion in the bag disappearing with a thought. He smiles up at Flemming, the very picture of pleasant surprise.]Ah, Dr Flemming. [He's never seen Flemming this dressed down, and the metallic sheen on his skin catches him by surprise, but he's aware of etiquette and doesn't stare, despite his curiosity.]
[He can't, however, resist making a small jab.]
I see you have quite a good relationship with your Pokemon.
no subject
[So why would her first instinct be go and bother people? ...Oh well. She's friendly enough.]
I'm sorry for any trouble. I'll talk to her about it later.
no subject
[Besides, Jade suspects that the Pokemon had been sufficiently scared enough, at least when it comes to his belongings.]
I take it she doesn't go out often?
no subject
She gets out often enough. She's usually with my daughter, though so I thought maybe she'd enjoy the change of scenery.
[Maybe the Purrloin's purring isn't entirely an act. At least it seems to enjoy the attention.]
no subject
[He sounds almost serious, for once.]
no subject
What do you mean?
no subject
[Mostly he was just trying to make Flemming's life more difficult. He continues on smoothly, in he same breath.]
Incidentally, where's Edwin?
no subject
That had been a little weird, but he's going to pretend it wasn't.]
He wasn't exactly thrilled to be around a beach, being a rock type. So he stayed home.
no subject
[And he's talking about more than type weaknesses.]
no subject
[At least he's being good natured about it given everything.]

no subject
No, don't be ridiculous.
[He laughs it off, though, hoping that was a joke.]
Nothing like that.

I can stop working sometimes, you know.
