What: After recent events, the people of Union could use a bit of R&R. What better place than a tropical island?

An island paradise, discovered just off the southern coast, less than a day's travel from the city. A strong enough Pokemon could easily carry their partner and others out there. It was hard to say just who sent the original message, but pictures surfaced, with the tagline "Don't you wish you were here," came over the warp bands' feeds, and, like Venomoths to the flame, people began clamoring toward this new found tropical get-away. Those who wanted to go would find it easy enough--with so many people making their way to investigate, for whatever reason they claimed (but let's be honest, it was probably the beach), one could just hitch a ride.

The island itself appeared untouched by human contact. The Pokemon were strange and different compared to the fare immediately around Union. A warm breeze blew through palm trees, carrying the scent of hibiscus flowers. The water, blue as the summer sky, was warm and inviting.

This truly was a paradise.

[What's this? It looks like Jade is peacefully, innocently asleep on the beach, wearing a loose bathrobe (second from left) in place of his usual Ranger outfit.]

[Levi is holding his Omanyte above Jade's head, carefully maneuvering its tentacle (soaked in tanning oil) to write cocks on his exposed forehead.]

[(Un)fortunately, Jade isn't a deep sleeper, and the sudden sensation of something slimy on his forehead is more than enough to wake him up. He opens his eyes, only to be greeted by a faceful of tentacles. It's unexpected enough that even his usual composure cracks, and he jerks his head back reflexively, arm sweeping up to bat whatever it is away.]

[At the same time, the sand under their feet begins to shift.]

[Cock is good enough. Levi lifts the runty Omanyte up away from his hand.]

Sorry. He likes your face for some reason. I can't understand why.

[Oh look, it's the Commander's roommate. Jade sits up, surreptitiously wiping at his forehead, just in case the Omanyte happens to secrete poison. This has the side-effect of smearing Levi's masterpiece, but at least he'll be getting a nice sunburn in that area.]

Is that so? [He adjusts his glasses to cover up his momentary discomfort, smiling.] Well, I suppose that's understandable; I do have quite a handsome face.

He left some sucker marks on it, I'm afraid. So much for Jade the Beauty.

Is that so? Well then, I'm afraid I'll have to demand some form of recompense.

[The sand is definitely shifting under Levi's feet now. In fact, that's all the warning he gets before the ground suddenly collapses. If he didn't jump back, he'll be sent plummeting down a few feet.]

Like I'm gonna-- shit!

[Levi falls down on his ass, in the sand pit, glaring up at him.]

You planned this, you fuck!

[Jade's usual cheerful smile makes its way back to his face.]

Now now, why would I want to do that?

[There's a chirping sound as the culprit pokes its head out of the sand next to Levi - Jade's Sandshrew, who looks quite annoyed about the sudden collapse of the complex warren she had been digging in the sand.]

Because you're a shady asshole.

[Rather than trying to climb out and make an ass of himself, Levi shifts into his Murkrow form and flutters up out, shaking sand off his wings. This leaves poor Shell the Omanyte down there though, who gives the Sandshrew an apologetic look.]

[Watching Shifters transform is always an interesting experience. He keeps his eyes on Levi, his gaze just a touch too intent to match the amused smile on his face. It's not until the sand from Levi's wings threaten to blind him that he closes his eyes briefly.]

Now now, is that any way to speak to your elders?

[Back down in the hole, Sandshrew lets out a disgusted huff and starts burrowing again, disappearing back into the sand with a flick of her tail.]

[Erwin is an Adult, so he would never think to bother his be-robed comrade.

...Gunsmoke is not an Adult, though, and will go careening through the sand to leap onto Jade because friend!!!]

[There are so many ways one can react when one is rudely awakened from their peaceful nap by a slobbering Houndour possessing dubious levels of mental faculties.]

[Jade happens to choose the most violent way, instinctively lashing out with a Psychic blast as he reaches up to shove Gunsmoke off because what are friends!]

[Gunsmoke probably SHOULD exhibit more keen defenses in the face of unexpected attacks -- but he's Gunsmoke. So he careens backwards and up into the air like so.

Fortunately, Erwin is right there to snatch his wayward Houndour out of the air. Like a boss.]

Good morning, sunshine.

[In the meantime, Jade props himself up into a sitting position and considers his attack just revenge for so many years of torment. It's too bad Gunsmoke will likely forget about it completely in the next few seconds.]

Ah, Commander.

[He stares at him, slow and deliberate, taking in the floral-patterned shirt that screamed vacation.]

I do hope I didn't injure your Houndour too badly.

[Yeah, by now Gunsmoke only remembers the exhilarating feeling of flying, of being free as a Pidgey, of -- omg it's Jade hi friend hi!!

Erwin looks down at the now-snorting/panting/whimpering wiggly bundle of Houndour in his arms with a...decidedly amused expression.] I think he'll survive.

I'm surprised to see you here, though.

[How many seconds was that? Less than one, possibly.]

I could say the same for you, Commander.

[And he directs another Look at the flowery garment.]

[A new record in short-term Houndour memory, to be sure.]

Mmm. Everyone needs a vacation, now and then, right? [Erwin refuses to be shamed for his stylish and comfortable ensemble.]

Is it truly a vacation if you'd rather be working?

What are you saying? You aren't enjoying the sun, sand and sea?

Oh, not at all. [He sighs, long and loud and completely fake.] I'm afraid it's simply impossible for me to relax.

Perhaps you need some sort of medicinal aid, then. [Erwin's sarcasm is practically tangible.]

I'm afraid my current wages don't allow for such luxuries.

[ Jade, by contrast, sounds entirely serious. Well, as serious as he could sound when there's no hint of sadness or annoyance in his voice.]
