Invasion: Start
The morning after the meteor shower, things start as they always do. Union’s gearing up for another day: people going to work, shops opening, kids heading to school, and foremen getting their crews to work on the last of the damage left by Kyurem’s rampage through the city. It’s just an ordinary day, with only a passing thought given to yesterday’s odd occurrences by anyone outside the scientific and psychic communities. There’s some very real theories floating around there, but there’s little real chance at anything solid coming from the discourse. At least, until reports start coming up Route 1 from the single port started by one Union entrepreneur two years ago. It’d grown quickly with Gigan help, seaborne trade flowing up the lone road, and now it was completely overrun.
Panicked sailors and land crew come streaming up the way, nursing hundreds and hundreds of Bug-type induced injuries. Beedrill stings, Spinarak bites, and photographs of several enormous members of a new species that’d yet to be recorded quickly circulate and prompt Council response. Whatever these things are, they’re clearly hostile and the risk of damage to the city itself seems likely given how quickly the port had been overwhelmed.
With the city still shaken by Kyurem’s attack, the Council wasted no time. The call to arms was put out and trainers hastily sent out to deal with the sudden intrusion. Anyone willing and able to fight was asked to head down the road as quickly as possible, with the intent of sorting this out and either diverting the tide or stopping the invasion cold. The road itself is deserted, abandoned wagons left in a hurry, and not a single wild Pokemon can be heard for miles. It’s almost like they were aware something big was coming, and even the more aggressive types clearly opted to clear out.
When it comes into view, the port itself seems to be in particularly bad shape. Smoke rises up into the horizon, and hundreds and hundreds of Bug types swarm all over the structures, chewing away at the wood and stone. But perhaps the most troublesome sight is the beings that are overseeing the attack. Several members of the new species, fifteen feet tall at minimum, twenty at the peak, direct the swarm in its efforts. And further out to sea, a singularly massive specimen, some forty feet tall, watches it all, hunched forward, dark eyes gleaming with interest as its minions go to work…

When the dust clears, Veronica has been knocked off her feet; her Swords of the Savior uniform is charred, and she aches all over. But when she props herself up on one knee, she's smiling.
"Explosives against me," she remarks. "Some nerve."
And the Embers that she'd summoned using the dust cloud for cover streak towards her opponent.

"Ngh.... guh...." He tries to force his body to move, he could feel his muscles relax, then it would seize up - he'll have to time it to get anything done.
Ja'far was the first to rush to the human's aid, putting himself between him and the human, his eyes glowing red as he forms a ball of concentrated darkness launching it towards the Moths as a Shadow Ball. Badr follows up with a Dragon's Rage.
Charizard, Houndoom, Duskull (sorry for the late)
He climbed on the back of his Charizard, taking to the air. It wasn't going to be easy, but he had a few antis to spread around. Antidote, anti-paralysis... He had taken the time to cure his own team and now was flying to the others to make sure they got some, too.
"Sinbad!" He dropped a bottle as he flew overhead. He didn't know the other girl, but she seemed okay for now.
In the meantime, Houndoom came in at the moths from the side, letting loose with a Flamethrower and Duskull worked on them with its own Shadow Ball.

On Veronica's side, the creature screeched in rage at the fire attack, as if to Veronica's own taunt of the creature having 'some nerve.' Answering the fire-typed attack in kind, the creature bounded off of the Ember attack and cloaked it's body in the flickering flames before commencing with a Flame Charge at it's attacker.

Nobody is allowed to mess with Veronica but Nemesis, apparently. The bat has wheeled and whipped up a Razor Wind to slice at that burning attacker from behind.
For her own part, Veronica sees that opponent charging - that very strong-looking opponent charging - and doesn't flinch. Instead, once it's close enough to hit, they'll collide. Its Flame Charge against her Foul Play.
On the battlefield, one uses what one has.

His eyes focused on Veronica's attacker and raised his hand, causing the air around the strange being to plummet at an alarming rate, the moisture in the air around it quickly freezing - threatening to encase it in ice.

Wheeling around, it turned it's attention on Sinbad and anyone else in range, firing off a Zap Cannon at anyone around while it slowly worked itself free from the ice.

Houndoom held back so as not to free their attacker from its frozen prison with his fire-based attacks, but Duskull shot off a Confuse Ray at it.

And now, when she uses Weather Ball, it's to try and undo any progress that bug might make on freeing itself. "Finish it!" she calls to the others. Her hands are full just trying to keep this thing still.

Lashing out furiously with it's arms, it levelled the cannon mounted on it's back and fired off a Signal Beam in retaliation!

Badr lunges himself to keep the Signal Beam from hitting Sinbad as Ja'far throws another Shadow ball

They have to finish this soon!

Houndoom kept a perimeter watch in the meantime, knowing his mostly fire-based attacks were pretty useless with an ice-based strategy. So, he stayed back for now, watching for any others that might try to make an attack.
Duskull stayed with the fight, firing off a Shadow Ball.

Somewhere deep within the mechanized body of the creature, something metallic started to clang and against the other parts inside. The breaks in the casing started to glow with an eerie, terrible light....

Ja'far and Badr pulled back, the latter was almost limping from the blow it took to protect Sinbad.

"Fall back!" Veronica keeps up the hailstorm but takes her own advice, looking for cover. Whether it's about to make a comeback or go for one last gasp, her troops had better not be in the line of fire.
no subject
"C'mon! We'll carry you!" If Badr accepted, Duo would pull him up and have Charizard fly off as fast as possible!

Ice and debris flew outward in the blinding haze of flame and smoke. The creature would fight no more...but, it made certain that it left it's mark.
