The morning after the meteor shower, things start as they always do. Union’s gearing up for another day: people going to work, shops opening, kids heading to school, and foremen getting their crews to work on the last of the damage left by Kyurem’s rampage through the city. It’s just an ordinary day, with only a passing thought given to yesterday’s odd occurrences by anyone outside the scientific and psychic communities. There’s some very real theories floating around there, but there’s little real chance at anything solid coming from the discourse. At least, until reports start coming up Route 1 from the single port started by one Union entrepreneur two years ago. It’d grown quickly with Gigan help, seaborne trade flowing up the lone road, and now it was completely overrun.

Panicked sailors and land crew come streaming up the way, nursing hundreds and hundreds of Bug-type induced injuries. Beedrill stings, Spinarak bites, and photographs of several enormous members of a new species that’d yet to be recorded quickly circulate and prompt Council response. Whatever these things are, they’re clearly hostile and the risk of damage to the city itself seems likely given how quickly the port had been overwhelmed.

With the city still shaken by Kyurem’s attack, the Council wasted no time. The call to arms was put out and trainers hastily sent out to deal with the sudden intrusion. Anyone willing and able to fight was asked to head down the road as quickly as possible, with the intent of sorting this out and either diverting the tide or stopping the invasion cold. The road itself is deserted, abandoned wagons left in a hurry, and not a single wild Pokemon can be heard for miles. It’s almost like they were aware something big was coming, and even the more aggressive types clearly opted to clear out.

When it comes into view, the port itself seems to be in particularly bad shape. Smoke rises up into the horizon, and hundreds and hundreds of Bug types swarm all over the structures, chewing away at the wood and stone. But perhaps the most troublesome sight is the beings that are overseeing the attack. Several members of the new species, fifteen feet tall at minimum, twenty at the peak, direct the swarm in its efforts. And further out to sea, a singularly massive specimen, some forty feet tall, watches it all, hunched forward, dark eyes gleaming with interest as its minions go to work…

The bugs fleeing the Flamethrower move in the path of that Aura Sphere, taking damage but also being blasted back towards the larger opponent, which scatters them before the attack hits it, as well. It screeches - Steel Claw on a chalkboard has nothing compared to this - and focuses on Yuuna through the Light Screen.

Which displeases it, so it strikes out with X - Scissor to try and get around that protection!

Raine's not finished with her defense spells yet, as she quickly casts reflect, hopefully in time to block that attack. Then she quickly glances to the pokemon floating nearest to her.

"Yutis, we need you."

In response, the Castform gives a little bob before it does what it's become accustomed to doing in situations like these, it's little body taking on a glow before form shifting (as much as it dislikes doing so), into it's sunny form to cast sunny day. The fire power could use a boost.

And Yuuna's team isn't about to let up on the offensive either. She whistles and Gouken charges forward, ducking beneath the monster's grasp and hammering it's knee with a Fire Punch while Turnip does the same.

Bounding off of Kuroshi's head, he comes up with a Fire Punch of his own, aiming for the monster's nose!

"Archimedes, Inferno!" she said to the cyndaquil who little out a little chirp before jumping out of Ami's arms and unleashing the attack at the other pokemon. While she focused a Water Pulse at all the steel types, to push them back.

This much concentrated fire is effective! The larger enemy howls while the smaller ones drop from the sky, trailing wisps of smoke behind them. Now this group has angered that big bug. Now it's done playing coy.

Hyper Beam is unleashed. But it's not aiming for these opponents. It's aiming for the damaged harbor - and anyone that might still be stuck there.

"Oh...hell! Kuroshi!"

As the beam starts charging up, the stony titan nods in affirmation and boosts straight into the air with it's rocket thrusters. It's aiming at an angle, trying to use the momentum and thrust it has to push the monster's aim off course and out to sea, using Superpower to help it!

"Madam Curie!" she called out and the Lapras was quick to appear. "Sheer Cold around the harbor!" Even though the hyper beam would still rip through it, perhaps they could apply enough barriers to prevent it from being damaged too terribly.

To help, Ami herself used Blizzard to help with the Lapras' wall of ice.

"Focus on the creature in the water! We'll keep an eye on the bugs and steel types!"

The deflection is partially successful! A dock and some boats get taken completely out, but the actual buildings on the harbor remain un-Hyper-Beamed. Of course, now everyone has to deal with the giant wall of water flying up and falling down after Hyper Beam struck the ocean, but it's still better than a direct hit. Probably. (Watch out for descending, and extremely confused, Magikarp.)

Genesect is forced to take five and recharge after this strike, screeching how very displeased it is at being crossed. Its attention is now fully on that Golurk. The others might as well not exist....

As the Magikarp rain down, Kuroshi twists a leg, using it to turn in mid-air a bit and bring Genesect and itself down at an angle to send the monster to the ground while it can't do much of anything else. The Golurk's body shakes and rattles as it impacts the ground with an Earthquake...right in Genesect's recharging chest.

"Good job! Hit it now! Hard!"

That's Infernape's cue to come rushing in, hammering at Genesect's side with a Fire Punch!

Ami sent her own Blizzard to strike the pokemon in question.

"Madam Curie! Freeze the area surrounding it so it can't escape!" The Lapras listened and sent a Sheer Cold focused not just on the pokemon but on the water it was in as well.

Genesect fires Signal Beam wildly, hoping to try and get all these opponents off it as it takes quite the beating. Bug-type Pokémon swarm to its aid, but since they're flying through a Blizzard, it might take them some time to arrive...

"Help them, Yutis!" The castform obliges, with a shift to it's snowy form to aid in the tactical turn to freezing attacks against the enemy, following that up to aid the ongoing blizzard as well.

Which leaves Raine to deal with the threat of the offending signal beam, as she once again focuses on raising the defensive abilities of those around her with a field barrier spell.

While Athena was the younger Noctowl, Minerva being older and higher in level, Athena had much higher speed.

"Athena! Air Slash! Socrates! Wing Attack!" she called to the pokemon. "Aim it at the Genesect!" let the bug type see how dangerous it was to go against her and her loved ones. "Cut through those bugs!"

"We're not done!"

Yuuna blitzes forward, joining Kuroshi and Turnip. Her fist lashes out, slamming into the things chest over and over again, a Close Combat barrage. Right beside her is Turnip, doing the same thing, while the Golurk again Earthquakes the monster.

"STAY DOWN!"

The cavalry doesn't arrive in time! Down goes Genesect, and with its defeat, the Bug-types scatter. It seems the fallen foe is trying to make it to the water, at which point it will sort of plunk into the waves and disappear, as if it had never existed.

Well, aside from the half-wrecked harbor and the residual Blizzard and all that jazz. But the day, in any case, appears to be saved...
