Something Psychic This Way Comes (Nightmare Catch-All)

The people of Union have had an odd week. While it was nice to cap things off with the knowledge that Gigas is not going to try and invade them again (for now), the population has had to deal with a different sort of intruder. Namely, Abra. Abra teleporting anywhere and everywhere. Abra teleporting places to try and hide.

Absolutely terrified Abra. To say nothing of the dreams the city's Psychic-types have discussed.

And now, as a new week dawns...the nightmares spread to everyone. Without exception. Perhaps you're fortunate and things that go bump in the night don't frighten you, but sleeping brings a sense of dread, and a hazy vision of a world in ruins. Night after night after night. The first one is horrifying for shock value. The next few are horrifying because they won't stop.

How will you deal? Where will you go, in the middle of the night, if you're the sort who tries to clear their heads? Will you share what you've been experiencing or keep it to yourself?

No matter what you do, the nightmares continue. And the Abra continue to shiver.

[Rei doesn't mind petulant, frowny-faced boys. She's good like that, and it's not like she didn't deal with Ankh for a year or anything. Boy howdy was Keith a lot easier to deal with already.]

I'm sorry, for scaring you. But I promise, it'll be fine.

[To the Clefairy, she nods, while Moeris scuttles back out of the way. Crab-walking, of course, because what else would an enormous crab do?]

You're new to the theater. Or at least, I haven't seen you before.

[And given that she's a patron of the place, that means you're new.]

Sorry, if I scared you, but I couldn't just let you accidentally burn the place down.

[Fair, he was probably a good bit lower on the brat scale than Ankh was. Not that that was a high bar to jump.]

[He takes a deep breath, sighing through his nose and getting a handle on his jumpy nerves. Between the nightmare, the fire, and this lady he was a little strung out. When he opens his eyes he looks marginally better and a good deal less petulant.]

No, I'm sorry. I-

[He looks at his now burned but also damp bed with a grimace.]

That doesn't usually happen.

Things are off lately. I understand.

[That's why she didn't do something more drastic.

Tapping her head, she smiles now, finally.]

My name is Rei Hino, by the way. I'm the High Priestess of a shrine here in the city, and I know a little bit about fire. [You know, because the ends of her hair sometimes ignite.]

[He ends up staring at her for a while. There are a number of things he finds puzzling about this whole situation. For one, that apparently a High Priestess barged into his room to put out his fire. That she's smiling at him after it was all said and done and that she was freely offering him help.]

[Maybe that was normal for a Shrine Priestess? He wasn't sure, he didn't know much about that sort of thing. Though, instinctively, he's apprehensive, because he's apprehensive of everybody. Trust issues a mile wide, and all.]

People weren't kidding about how friendly everyone here is.

[It's said with some amount of awe, though its mostly incredulous. Seki doesn't like that tone and she ends up pulling on his ear some. A beat and he tries again.]

Keith. My name is Keith. Thank you for the offer ...but I'm fine. I'll figure it out.

[Even if the help was probably needed, he wasn't one to admit to that very easily.]

[Rei snorts, a little inelegantly, but she's still smiling. That's kind of funny, all that apprehension, and that Clefairy...]

Union is more than just a name. We are the city of unity, after all.

[Stepping back, she waves off his rejection and scoops up her Kingler. It rather affectionately strokes her cheek with it's good claw, eyeing Keith with bored wariness.]

Keith-san, if you change your mind, just ask Haruka-san where Hikawa Shrine is. Please, don't burn down her theater. It's been through quite a lot this year, already.
