Something Psychic This Way Comes (Nightmare Catch-All)

The people of Union have had an odd week. While it was nice to cap things off with the knowledge that Gigas is not going to try and invade them again (for now), the population has had to deal with a different sort of intruder. Namely, Abra. Abra teleporting anywhere and everywhere. Abra teleporting places to try and hide.

Absolutely terrified Abra. To say nothing of the dreams the city's Psychic-types have discussed.

And now, as a new week dawns...the nightmares spread to everyone. Without exception. Perhaps you're fortunate and things that go bump in the night don't frighten you, but sleeping brings a sense of dread, and a hazy vision of a world in ruins. Night after night after night. The first one is horrifying for shock value. The next few are horrifying because they won't stop.

How will you deal? Where will you go, in the middle of the night, if you're the sort who tries to clear their heads? Will you share what you've been experiencing or keep it to yourself?

No matter what you do, the nightmares continue. And the Abra continue to shiver.

[Seki pauses, considers that the babby is clearly a babby (which is funny because Seki is probably not much older honestly) and decides to let it go.]

[Keith stares at the bed and runs a hand through his hair. Great, he is probably going to have to pay for that. He lets out a shaky, frustrated sigh before he looks at the two pokemon.]

I'm going to go take a walk. Coming, Seki?

[Yes! Ah.. She looks at Amara. Should we walk you back to your room?]

Cleffa cleffa cle?

[ Amara is busy staring at the bed, which has a funny smell she doesn't much like now, as well as a smell she recognizes from around the theater. It is the smell of when Gene the Wooper makes it rain indoors. For the first time, she wonders whether she did a bad thing.

But she is being talked to, so she decides not to let the smell bother her. Especially now that her surprise has worn off and some of her shyness returns. She takes a step back but tries to keep smiling. That would...be nice. She would...like that. It is nice and cold where she sleeps. ] Amaura.

[redpaladin]

[Aw. Seki smiles in what she hopes is a warm and friendly way. Keith ...still looks exhausted and frazzled but he's about to head out the door until Seki pulls on his hair. He makes something akin to a grunt and stares at her. She rambles at him about taking Amara back to her room and somehow in there he gets the gist and just kind of sighs.]

All right. Let's go.

[Seki waves down at Amara with a please "Cle!!", Lead the way and they will make sure she makes it back okay!]

Ra. [ Another shy smile, and then Amara starts heading...away from the bedrooms. In fact, it almost looks like she's heading for the kitchen. Or outside. But she looks like she knows what she's doing... ]

[Huh. Keith is actually not paying too much attention at first. He doesn't know this place well, it's dark, and his mind was still rattling around what happened in his nightmare. When they make it outside he pauses to sideglance at Seki before continuing.]

[Seki is ...a little confused, too! But just wait. She probably knows where he's going!! Maybe.]

[Yeah, okay, maybe fresh air will do them some good. He stays quiet and follows closely behind the small pokemon.]

[ They do indeed go outside. And are heading behind the kitchen towards...

The icebox. Where the frozen and salted food is kept for storage.

Amara paws at the door, which she'd closed behind her, but can't open it, lacking hands. Hm. Hmmm. ] Mmmma.

[redpaladin]

[...Oh. WELL. That made sense at least. Okay, so she lived in the freezer. Who was either of them to argue with that.]

[Keith helpfully uses his opposable thumbs to open the ice box up for her so she could get in.]

Um. Here ...you go.

[actsmagnificent]

[ The cold box is open! Amara stumps on in atop her little dino feet, then turns around and pokes her neck out. Please...be careful on your way back. She was Patrolling, you see. It was important. ] Ra.

[ And then the neck withdraws. ]

[redpaladin]

[Seki waves to her and assures her they will be fine and she will keep an eye on things. Keith just kind of stands there until she's gone and makes sure to shut the door.]

[...well, that whole thing kind of helped with the tension at least. Still, he had no desire to go to sleep so maybe a walk around the perimeter will do him some good.]

[actsmagnificent]

[ It's a nice night! Lots of stars out and a bit of a breeze. And the theater is large enough that Keith's chosen stroll will make a nice walk.

Except, when he's about halfway around, there's this weird scraping sound. And it won't go away. Scrape---thud. Scrape---thud.

It's almost like it's getting closer. ]

[redpaladin]

[...What the fuck.]

[Keith, ever vigilant, goes tense at this weird unidentified sound. He quickly puts his back up against the wall and curses at himself for not grabbing his sword on his way out.]

[But hopefully this is enough cover. He stays where he is listening for the source of the sound.]

[actsmagnificent]

[ Scrape....thud. Scrape.....thud. And then, a low, ragged exhalation. A long shadow falls across the already-dim path. Whatever's just around this corner is apparently quite tall.

The funny thing, though, is that the exhalation is....almost sultry. Attractive, certainly.

Keith may have run into a hot ghost! ]

[redpaladin]

[What.]

[Not that he will let his guard down. A Hot ghost could still be a problem ghost!!!]

[He holds his breath, tenses, and rushes out from around his corner with his fists up, ready to at least startle whats on the other side there.]

[actsmagnificent]

[ And startle it he does! Less by his presence than by his demeanor. Haruka tries to take a step back to give him some space, but that's hard on crutches. Please don't run into the woman in a cast, Keith.

...Easy there. ] ....We've got a gate, y'know.

[ Doesn't prevent intruders. But - what a touchy guy. ]

[Crutches. Oh. Welp. Luckily he has good enough reflexes to stop before he manages to get that close.]

[He lowers his fists, though he doesn't exactly relax. No sense in trying to punch out a member of the theater that would surely go over well.]

I- was just being careful.

Don't need a guard, either. [ Haruka's still joking - one part covering her own surprise, one part covering an examination of Keith's expression. What's with this guy? Sneaking around - was he up to something? Or...

...she should probably be more worried that she would prefer he be an infiltrator to being up for the same reasons she is. ]

[redpaladin]

[He doesn't look like he's someone that's particularly nervous or sneaky. He honestly just looks really tired and strung out. He sighs, running a hand through his hair.]

Right. Sorry.

[The Cleffa on his shoulder is already picking at him for trying to attack someone who is letting them stay here??? Please don't jump to conclusions like that...]

[Of course that embarasses him further and he takes a step back.]

I was just... trying to get some air. I'll go to a park or something instead.

[actsmagnificent]

[ Asking about bad dreams would be putting too fine a point on it. Better act like she doesn't care instead. Haruka shifts on her crutches, smiling. ] The courtyard's not bad for clearing your head.

[ Now to see if that gets a reaction. If that's what he needs. ]

[redpaladin]

[Well- that was an offer. The courtyard, huh? Sounded as good as any park without the risk of getting lost on his way back. He nods his head, appreciative but not exactly smiling. He's at least trying to be polite.]

The courtyard. I'll check it out.

[...He turns to walk away. Seki smacks him on the back of the neck. He stops, turns and sheepishly nods his head again.]

Um. Thanks.

[actsmagnificent]

[ Haruka takes a step forward. Er. A shuffle. You've got a cute babysitter, guy. She'll give you a pass tonight for your Pokémon's sake. ] Pleasant dreams.

[ Okay, so she went for the low blow anyway.

Whatever. ]

[The only thing that shows that might have gotten to him is the slight slow in his step, but otherwise he doesn't turn back around. He makes for the Courtyard.]

[Maybe they had training dummies. He could punch something around for a while, that would be nice.]

[Anything to put these stupid dreams at rest.]

[ There's a scarred Berry tree. Do you like Berries?

Go as wild in you want in the courtyard, anyway. It's insured.

Haruka is going to take her own dramatic brooding to this side of the complex, near the dorms. Did something burn? There's a weird scent on the wind.

Must be the lack of sleep. ]
