Something Psychic This Way Comes (Nightmare Catch-All)

The people of Union have had an odd week. While it was nice to cap things off with the knowledge that Gigas is not going to try and invade them again (for now), the population has had to deal with a different sort of intruder. Namely, Abra. Abra teleporting anywhere and everywhere. Abra teleporting places to try and hide.

Absolutely terrified Abra. To say nothing of the dreams the city's Psychic-types have discussed.

And now, as a new week dawns...the nightmares spread to everyone. Without exception. Perhaps you're fortunate and things that go bump in the night don't frighten you, but sleeping brings a sense of dread, and a hazy vision of a world in ruins. Night after night after night. The first one is horrifying for shock value. The next few are horrifying because they won't stop.

How will you deal? Where will you go, in the middle of the night, if you're the sort who tries to clear their heads? Will you share what you've been experiencing or keep it to yourself?

No matter what you do, the nightmares continue. And the Abra continue to shiver.

[ Haruka suspects you did. But that's okay. She likes giving you what you want. You always end up giving her just what she needs.

She makes a show of flicking a glance across the courtyard to confirm they're alone, then leans in. ] Who knows.

[ Her lips and her fingers both still work just fine.

[she just laughs quietly. It's easier to joke here, in the sunlight.]

How mysterious. [instead, she reaches for your hand, thumb fondly tracing the creases in your palm.

None of this gets them any closer to solving this whole thing, but she can't deny it's making her feel a little better.]

Are you tired? [ Michiru always gets the apocalypse dreams worse than she does. Haruka doesn't want to overexert someone who should be better off taking it easy.

...don't say it. Also, her fingers still curl to trap that thumb. ]

Mm. [perhaps she sees little point in pretending that everything is fine when it comes to you. Or maybe she's hoping to set an example. Not that she has any expectations, really.] There isn't much I can do about it, however.

[beyond sending out some of her Pokemon to scout, joining them herself at times, or swimming laps until she's physically tired for a change, rather than mentally. Though none of that seems to be working, so she'll settle for leaning comfortably against you.

And it doesn't look like she has any objections to getting her thumb trapped, if the way she's twining her hands with yours is any indication.]

...okay, while she may have said it as a joke, Haruka might actually believe that. Also, trying to trap the rest of your fingers now. ]

I can be very persuasive. [ And suddenly they're not talking about nightmares anymore. Something about the friction of your fingertips against hers as she tries to reclaim the literal upper hand, maybe. ]

Oh? [she sounds so innocent, even as she pushes back against your fingers before interlacing their digits] Will you show me?

An audience of one works best. [ Haruka either has forgotten she's sitting on the ground in a cast or else she has a plan for getting up.
