[Action]

[It was a long hike back, and Rose spent the night in the medical center. Her wounds were such that they wanted to keep an eye on her. While Enlightened healing powers can do a lot, she is still on the mend. She looks it, too; she has a blue button-up shirt on, but the white bandages along her torso for her broken ribs are visible where the sleeves end and near her neckline.]

[Not to mention her left arm, which is in a sling, and black and blue bruises on her face. She looks like she's seen better days. But, she's out, and she has a mind to take a walk. Unfortunately... she doesn't really have the energy for it.]

[So about halfway through the walk, Rose is sitting down on a bench along one of Union's roads, trying to rest. Behind her, a Blaziken is fussing -- Efreet, who evolved on the way home.]

[Video, sometime later]

[Eventually, Rose does get back to the Tycoon estate. She's resting, then, but the room is visible behind her when she flips on the warp band. She smiles down at it; her face is a bit less puffy, now. Enlightened healing is a thing.]

Hey, everybody. So... that got intense, huh?

[ A hand reaches from behind Rose - scuse her, Efreet - to press a bottle of Fresh Water against her cheek. These were originally fetched for theater folk, but you look like you might need one. ] That successful, huh, Skitty?

[ Don't worry. It's just gallows humor. Haruka had a sucky week too. ]

[She's a little surprised to feel the bottle against her cheek -- ditto Efreet, though he just watches. Rose takes it, looking the bottle over it, then she smiles. She undoes the lid, before she looks over her shoulder at Haruka.]

I succeeded in breaking an arm and my ribs! I guess that's something. [Then, a sigh. It was a pretty rough week.]

Which target? [ Haruka manages to combine "coming around the side of the bench" and "sitting down on the bench" in the same effortlessly-cool moment. Actors, man.

She's also not asking what you'd intended to break. More like who you'd intended to break out. ]

[Rose is impressed. She knew, of course, that Haruka was an actor. She makes a note to learn to do exactly that. She looks up at Haruka and flashes her a smile, but her words are serious.]

We ran into their emperor.

I'm doing well! Although, I'm still feeling the excitement despite it having passed!

[Not to mention how she's surprised that she didn't get a heart attack after all of that!]

But what about you? Are you okay?

I've been all right. I'm a little sore, still. [That's an understatement, if there ever was one.] I'm on the mend.

What were you doing, during it?

I was in mission control so I was watching everything that happened.

[...] But I'm glad that you're okay. To be honest, I'm not even exactly sure we won.

[ There's a rumble from behind the bench, the heavier footsteps of a large pokémon's approach that much more apparent. Then, slowly, a Haxorus stretches his neck, peering curiously at the human and her fire-type partner. The latter of whom gets a nod of acknowledgement, before he eyes Rose up and down.

What happened to your partner? ]

[Efreet turns. Despite the recent evolution, the Blaziken recognizes him. He nods once. Then, speaks, too: She was hurting fighting Gigas's emperor. He lacks righteousness and must be smote to the ground!]

[Rose, for her part, turns and blinks at the Haxorus. She doesn't recognize him yet.]

[ There's a growl in the throat of the Haxorus. He had not engaged directly in battle. But he had witnessed the Red Dragon depart to join it, and he had stood guard over the command center.

There will be time yet to repay debts owed. For now, it is time to recover. He then rumbles in (what is intended to be) a friendly manner at Rose, before he turns his head and calls loudly.

Mother-trainer will wish to see her. In case Efreet is wondering. ]

"Intense" is one way to put it, "horrible disaster" is another. [She shrugs, resting a hand on her Meowstic's head.] We're all okay, I guess.

...Yeah. It's a disaster, all right. We had no idea that guy was down there.

Or anything like that.

[It occurs to Maka that she should apologize for not being a Psychic type that can see the future. Maybe it would have helped.

But saying it would sound sarcastic and like she's trying to insult Rose, so she just shrugs.]

Well, we did what we could. And even if we weren't able to defeat him, we've got a better idea of what's going on now anyway.

[Lenna has been fussing all over Rose ever since she came home. There's a light knock at her door after she's had a few hours to rest.]

[Rose slept most of that time. She woke up a little ago; she looks up, now, at the knock on her door and tilts her head. She's wearing a sleeveless shirt -- which makes the bandages abundantly clear, and the bruising.]

[She still winces, and hisses, when she shifts.] Hey, I'm in here.

[Lenna slowly approaches, sitting gently on the side of the bed so as not to disturb her.]

How are your injuries? Do you need anything?

Well enough, summer heat always brings heat stroke and heat exhaustion to the medical center's door. Which I should remind you to drink more water as I will remind everyone of Union.

More water, huh? I'll have to do that. I'm from Caldera, but... probably shouldn't get cocky while I'm on the mend.

You shouldn't get cocky no matter where you're from. Heat stroke and heat exhaustion can affect anyone, even those accustom to higher temperatures. But if you ever feel the symptoms, please feel free to come by the center. And remember to eat lighter foods too. Berries are a wonderful source of natural water within the juices as well.

[Around Union, Adell was out on a run, mostly to clear his head, and to get Beowulf some much needed exercise. The Houndour had rapidly grown in strength and size, evolved, and then grew again. He was rather shocked at how it happened, but it also meant it was more voracious for food, and also more listless. Sudden growth meant he had to exercise a lot to stretch out and feel better, so there it was.

Though when he hears the fussing of a nearby Blaziken, he quickly diverts his run to go check it out. Sure enough, a familiar face, even if she'd seen better days. Still... this was an improvement.

He does greet her with a smile, though.]

Hey Rose. Efreet's not giving you too much guff, is he?

[Said with good humor, and he gave the Blaziken a nod, suggesting he knew very well that all he was doing was looking out for his partner.]

[Rose turns to look at Adell, blinking at him once. Her Blaziken does, too -- but Efreet recognizes Adell, despite the crossed arms and the imposing look. He nods, once, at both Adell and Beowulf. Rose looks up, too.]

[She smiles, but it's tired -- and short-lived.]

Naw, not too much. It's a little pestering, but... I can use the help, really. How're you holding up, Adell?

[His own smile fades a bit, into something much more subdued.]

Just fine. Can't complain. I'm more worried about you. I'm sure you've gotten the ration of "take it easy and rest" from everyone, so I'll spare you that.

[You can only hear that so many times before going mad, after all.]

That you're up and around is a good sign. You're looking a bit better, if nothing else.

Yeah, tell me about it. [She glances sideways at Ez, then waves.] Emperor of Gigas. The secret underground emperor.

Isn't he supposed to be a half-dead geezer?
