Operation: Gigas Freedom Event Start

True to their word the Seekers lead the teams discretely through the winding streets of Gigas and into service entrances, gaining them admittance into the heart of Gigas’s political compound. Bringing them stealthily along the catwalks, the Union infiltrators were brought to the inner sanctum, close to the captive Gigases and their mission.

Sharp-looking soldiers in fatigues holding machine guns patrolled diligently, although their demeanor was not especially tense. It seemed no immediate operations were taking place at this time as no engineers were present. And in their enormous cages, the Gigases slept. Waiting.

Waver muttered quietly, already prepping to Heal Right of any major damage that he could have sustained during that incident.

"I just don't like it-- and next time we'll have no excuse to be dumb."

Magnolia's voice is...edgy, aggravated. Still quiet, but sharp. "There's too many ways of caging things here. I don't like it."

The elevator ride up is surprisingly smooth and quiet, and soon there's a 'bing' and the doors slide open into a scene out of a nightmare. People crowd around a massive hole in the earth, snapping photographs. Buildings lie in ruin, burned away by the scouring strike from Registeel. Twisted and warped metal wobbles in protest, more buildings threatening to collapse.

But that's just the visible. The sounds are deafening, the roar of fire and steel clashing far below and the screams of protesting girders...and the groans of people trapped inside the rubble are unmistakable. The Gigan troops that'd been rescued all pile out and start rushing into the fray, moving to help the wounded and injured, almost as if they were responding to standing orders.

Another explosion rocks the chamber below and Kiho blasts out of it, borne aloft on wings of flame and light. When she does make it clear, she changes into something else, and takes to the sky without any more fanfare.

The Gigans are all stunned into silence and shock, and that pretty much leaves the invaders alone and unnoticed, with plenty of time to slip away before anyone starts asking too many questions.
