bravenewworld | Event end - Mega Evolution

As people face their fears and insecurities, the images slowly fade away as they are funneled into a singular cavern room. The walls are lined with floating images - records of the trials faced playing across the walls. Hovering above the floor in the center of the room is a strange Pokémon, its eyes closed in meditation. As more people enter the room, the swirling memories begin to form around the Pokémon, coalescing into a symbol. As the images merge with the Pokémon, it appears changed.

Greetings, Humans of the New World.

The voice is soft, warm, and nurturing.

I am Diancie. I guard the gate to the final evolution. I have heard much of you. I am pleased to say that others have spoken quite highly of you. I am here to give you a gift, one never before granted to humanity. But then, many among you are not entirely human anymore, are you?

Be warned, the power I give today is not to be taken lightly. We have observed your progress and we are pleased with your triumphs. Sparing your kind was not a mistake! It is our hope that you will use this for good use.

[The walls of the cave glow pink as she says this with a sharp crack of stone.]

[Diancie nods at their surroundings.]

To you, it may seem like a dreadful place, but... it is my honor to reside in this cavern.

[Right smiles in relief.] That's good, that you're not alone...and this really is a pretty place.

[He glances around the large cave...and then his eyes light up with an idea.] Hey, Lady Diancie...can I ask you a question?

Certainly.

[Please don't ask what she's going to give them, please don't ask what she's going to give them, please don't ask what she's going to give them...]

You and the other gods...you've given us a lot lately...gifts like this evolution, your blessings... It's just...

[His heart is racing, and he swallows the lump in his throat. C'mon, Right, you can do this. It's a simple question, right? Worst she can do is not answer, or just say "no"...] Do you think that...someday...humans can earn the friendship of the Gods? Or at least a God?

[Diancie utters an exclamation of surprise once more before she lifts her hands to cover her mouth.]

Heehee... You need not fear, child of man. There are already many who pray for your success.

[He looks at his Pokemon.] I've always wondered what it'd be like, if humans could be friends with Gods, much like these guys here are my friends. I know we've done terrible things in the past, and I get why the Gods got angry back then. But...wouldn't it be a wonderful thing, if Gods, humans and Pokemon could all be friends? Wouldn't the world be a better place if that ever happens?

[A light smile comes to her face as she lowers her hands.]

Is that the world you long for?

[A slight shake of the head.]

I cannot say if such a thing will ever come to pass... but I should like to see that world as well. It is... a world you will have to forge with your own hands.

I think we can do it. As long as we work together and use our gifts, including the one you're giving us...I'm sure we can make the world a better place for everyone.

[He closes his eyes for a moment, that wish he's expressed earlier taking shape as an Image in his head. He then taps the side of his head.] As long as we keep such wishes and images in mind, we'll always grow. We'll always defeat those who are evil and misuse their gifts. And who knows? Maybe someday, we'll both get to see that world with our own eyes.

I shall hope that day will come.

[Right's grandiose words, she knows, are easy to say at this time, and her tone, though warm, is not entirely enthusiastic.]

What is your name, child?

[Grandiose, perhaps, but they come from the heart all the same.]

Right...Right Suzuki.

Right?

[She seems surprised at the name for a moment.]

Right... Somehow, that seems to be fitting.

Very well, then, Right. I leave the future in your hands. It is you and your people who shall make it... right.

[this can't be the first time he's heard that joke right]

[It's not, and Right's starting to get just a tiny bit tired from hearing it. But he humors the goddess with a half-hearted chuckle.]

[And as she bows low once again, a strange light will surround Right and his Pokemon, emanating from the walls of the cave. And just before the vision of Diancie flickers out, he might spot a faint hint of a smile on her face as she bids him adieu.

The next sight is of the outside of the cavern, blocked now by a large boulder. The cavern and its guardian had served their purpose.]
