Expedition #3
Hey.
[The Warp Band flickers on to display a face that's perhaps slightly more recognizable now.]
Slackers.
It's great that you've found a city filled with magical megalomaniacs - don't worry; this counts as hometown pride - but I think you're all forgetting something equally important and worthy of attention.
[Ceilto spins a whiteboard near him fast enough that it's impossible to make out what's on it until it comes to a stop. ...Facing the wrong way.]
Eh.
[One more spin. ...It's a map. The map of everything known to Union, with Sanctuary far off to the west beyond the borders and several areas marked off in green with a check-mark. A triangle in the Wildwoods has been circled in red.]
Crumbling stone and bits of pottery and such!
[...]
Yeah, we're low on funds again, and we need to find something worthwhile. Seekers, assemble. We're heading out in two days. Everyone else, feel free to speak up and say how much you want to tag along.
...What all did you find in the other ruins, anyway, and how come none of the cash made it back to us?
((Looking for at least two to three people for this! Preferably more, but two-three minimum! Log will be going up tomorrow or the next day.))

[Actually, Ceilto probably just grunted at her when she came to sign the papers.]
...Who are you again?
no subject
[She was there like...a day ago tops.]
We spoke yesterday.

[...]
Right, of course, you look different in the image. ...You're much more lovely in real life.
[wait is he saying she looks ugly right now]
What kinds of things do you do?
no subject
[Not even going to reply to that, Cielto.]
I'm a healer. And I can manipulate fire, and plants. I'm pretty sure you asked me for this information before I joined.
[...maybe?]
I'm Grass and Fire Typed, before you ask.
no subject
[spoilers he never read it]
If you're a medic, you're our team MVP. Always good to have one along - second best is a mass Teleport.
no subject
[At...all...]
Where are we going?
no subject
[The map is slapped, upon which the whiteboard swivels again to show its blank side. Ceilto sighs.]
You might not realize this, but we canvass every area you lot stumble across and locate suspicious architecture or cave formations that seem to be promising. The people of Refuge led us to this one - a pre-existing underground edifice that they brushed upon in the course of their own tunneling.
no subject
[It kind of goes with mapping an area?]
What do we know about this edifice? Do you have a picture?
no subject
[Ceilto takes a marker and scribbles a big black spot on the whiteboard.]
...It's underground, so there's not much in the way of natural light. I've got us covered there.
no subject
When do we leave, exactly? And are there specific types of Pokemon I should bring?
no subject
Most ruins are usually haunted; otherwise we can expect Ground, Rock, and Steel types mucking about underground.
no subject
Okay.
How big are the tunnels? Do you know that?
no subject
This --
[A broad thick vein stretching from a spot he labels 'Refuge'.]
-- is the main Refuge outbound tunnel from where they conduct their digs. They're fairly methodical; they space out their excavations based on where the native Pokemon advise.
This branch --
[He circles one about 15 tick marks down.]
-- is the recent dig that led to the ruins. And if my sources are correct, the path looks a bit like this.
[He proceeds to sketch out a more detailed map of the tunnel that ends up looking vaguely like a tree root. For all his personality deficits, he certainly has a good memory.]
Ruins are here.
[Red circle.]
The main tunnel is large and stable enough to accommodate any size Pokemon short of a Wailord; smaller branch is about a height and a half of a standard human, six feet across, and definitely not stable. When we get into the ruins proper, it opens up again.

[Yukiko pulls out a pen and actually starts copying things, taking notes and making certain to commit this to memory. He is her boss, now, after all.]
I'll make sure to bring my Venusaur and leave Peter in the Warp Band until we need him then.
[Since Peter is the Snor-Lord. And while this was the legendary outlaw's thing: raiding tombs and all, he's a bit fat.]
no subject
Unless I get my head split open or otherwise incapacitated, I can lead the way. ...Then again, that's a distinct possibility in this line of work, so probably it's just as well.
Who is Peter?
no subject
[And to the question? the answer is pretty immediate, and in fairness he really does insist on it.]
Snor-Lord.
no subject
What is a Snor-lord?
no subject
no subject
And why does he have that title?
no subject
no subject
[A thought bubble arises around now of a Snorlax deciding to chew on a pillar supporting the ceiling of an ancient temple which promptly collapses on their heads.]
no subject
[He is, actually.]
Don't worry about him. Or me. I'll keep him in line.
no subject
One of the most important rules of ruins exploration is 'find all the shiny things'. Slightly above that is 'don't get killed'. Just follow the right order and we should be fine.

I'll summon you all when I've got a good group and set out the time frame. Expect to leave within the next 48 hours.
