[Hello, warp band owners. This evening you're treated to a close up of a girl's face. She gives the feed a sort of suspicious look before she pulls back with a smile. If you pay close enough attention, you'll hear a guitar strumming softly in the background.]

Oh cool, it's on! [There's a pause as she thinks of what to say now that she's got her newly acquired warp band working. Meanwhile, an Emolga peeks over her shoulder, chittering quietly.]

Relax, it's not gonna hurt us. Anyway!~

I'm Xiu, and I guess I'll be staying in this Union place for a bit. [She pretty much beams as she continues.]

Everyone should totally stop by and listen to my music! It's pretty good. If you don't, you're really missing out.

You too! [Estelle's from Caldera, but Xiu's only passingly familiar; someone she might have seen once, but now she can't... quite... place it. She ultimately writes it off as a mistake.]

It takes some getting used to, but it's nice--ah, a little messed up by the earthquakes. But the towers are pretty! Especially the agricultural tower.

I've never seen any place like it before.

[It's sort of pretty. Prettier than Caldera at any rate.]

Everything seems to be okay though, right?

Yeah. Some places got roughed up pretty bad, and I think they're trying to fix those up, but... they'll get it fixed. And the people are okay.

[She smiles. It's trying to be reassuring.]

If people seem out of sorts, that's probably why, though.

That's good to hear.

Then I'll just have to boost their morale.

Everyone can use a morale boost! What kinda things do you do for that?

I can play some pretty relaxing tunes!

Oh, oh, that's always good! Do you play an instrument?

Music's the best thing to calm body, mind, and heart.

I can play a bunch.

I wanna hear you play sometime! If, uh, you take requests. I don't wanna impose, I don't exactly play anything...

[But she's a practiced... listener.]

Sure thing! I'll be here for a while.

Don't worry, playing for others is what I do.

Are you a performer for a living?

[That'd be cool, she thinks.]

Something like that.

I'm just traveling the world to show people how wonderful music is.

That's a nice thing to do... plenty of places that could really use some good music. People, too!

How'd you start playing?

Yes, there have been quite a few who hadn't experienced such joy before.

[There's a pause at that question.]

I just decided it's what I wanted to do, and I learned every note, every key, every chord I possibly could.

Y-You taught yourself to play?

[There's a long, uncomprehending stare. Estelle has some idea that... that's hard.]

Like, from scratch?

Yeah!

[It's not like there's sheet music and instruction manuals lying around in the wilderness.]

I think I'm pretty good.

That's incredible! Some people need a lot of training, but...

[The thought that Xiu might be bad at this doesn't enter Estelle's mind. Maybe she's not super bright -- but she's also never cynical.]

You must be a total natural, Xiu!

Maybe!

[It's possible. Thankfully, Xiu's musical talent is pretty real.]

So what's this place like?

Union? It's nice. It's really... peaceful, sometimes, and relaxed. And it's pretty, too--it's really, um, green. I think there's some politics and stuff that I don't know too much about...

[She trails off, but then she smiles.]

I'm a little new, too. I've been here a few months, though.

It looks like it can be pretty peaceful.

[Politics and all that complicated stuff doesn't concern her unless they like, ban music or something.]

Where'd you come from?

I'm from Caldera! I came back in August, and... it's a lot cooler here.

[And different and nice in other ways, too! But winter is brutal.]

I like Union a lot, really.

Caldera was alright! I was there for a while.

[It's very definitely different! And people here seem to be less gung-ho about everything.]

I can't wait to see what it holds in store for me.

Yeah! And if you ever want a pal for, you know, looking around the city or going out exploring, just ask! I'm a Seeker, but...

[She gives a thumbs-up at the warp band.]

Plenty of time for that too!

That would be pretty cool.~

[She approves of this idea wholeheartedly. Having more friends would be nice.]

What do you seek?

Awe~some.

[There's a little sing-song in that. Then she looks only a little more serious.]

Stuff about the past! What happened, what people were like, knowledge... so we go into ruins and see what we find.
