Arts and crafts lessons.

[Later on though, on the day specified on the adverts, he can be found in the gallery itself. There's tables set up in an empty room, full of various bits and pieces to be used in projects and tuition: fabrics and threads and paints and crystals and all sorts.

I just kinda wanted to try usin' my talents for somethin' useful, y'know? ...Dunno how this is gonna work. Never thought I'd be doin' something like this.

[Chie has to hold herself back from shaking her head. She's always thought Kanji's talents were impressive and useful, but he's probably just working everything out for himself. Instead, she pulls her reaction back to a small smile as she leans to the side, one hand on her hip.]

Well, I think it's a great idea. Lots of people need stuff like this when they evolve and grow wings or a tail or whatever.

[Her expression does turn more inquisitive after a moment, though.]

So are you still joining up with the Rangers too, then? I remember you talking about that before.

I want to. Been gettin' in training. Just been havin' trouble getting things sorted out before I sign up, and I wanna check the age limits.

Yeah, I dunno about those. I joined up with the Swords right out of school after my 18th birthday, but I'm not sure how the Rangers do things.

Yeah... school's the thing. Ain't like some'f the teachers wouldn't wanna see the back of me anyway, but ma'd probably want me to actually finish properly...

...Least it means I'm gonna be ready by then.

What sorts'a things did ya do in training there? I know it's gonna be different, but...

Running. Lots of running. Endurance stuff, weight training... things like that. A little bit of practice sparring. They try to keep new recruits pretty well-rounded.

I'd be surprised if the Rangers were much different, honestly. But I bet they probably have some stuff about wilderness survival skills, too.

Figures. I mean, that's the whole damn point of the job, knowin' how to handle things out there.

Yeah! I'm sure you'll do fine. You'll probably be really good at building shelters out of sticks and stuff.
