[Kanji can't believe he's actually gotten around to finishing this. But in any case, here's a rather worried-looking young man on the warp video feed, various tools of his trade around him.]

Yo, everyone. I've been workin' on somethin' on 'n off for a few months now, and I think some'a you guys might be interested.

It's been kinda hard, but I've been wrappin' my head around Enhanced clothes 'n textile stuff. Man, it's actually easier than the metal crap now I know what I'm doin'... I ain't a professional. But I think it's comin' out looking alright. [He raises something into camera view - is that a pair of gloves? A rather nice pair, too, with vinelike embroidery and a floral trim... with his blatant ground weakness, trying something grass-type made sense.] That's the last lot I did.

So... [Okay, okay, he can do this. Breathe, Kanji, breathe. I'm gonna start sellin' this stuff too. If you want any, hit me up at the usual places, the shop or the gallery, an' I'll see what I can do. I've got a few ideas, an' I think I can do stuff in any Type.

[Fire-type gear for the cold weather, ice-type or water type for the warm, glowy fairy bits for cave exploration... where to start?

He scratches his head.]

That's that. Gimme a yell.

Whoa!

[He just about jumps away from the screen in surprise at the sudden image. Right. Breathe.]

I, uh ... guess ya like it?

[ The yellow field nods, allowing a brief glimpse of the top of the creature's head and antennae. He figures out the camera problem quickly, though, and holds the Warp Band at arm's length.

This Leavanny is, himself, surrounded by fabric of all colors and textures - most of them ridiculously lavish. A fancy ballgown is half-completed on a mannequin, and he's hard at work on a hat that looks made to fit atop a Pumpkaboo. So many friends, so little time! But he'll always make time to hear about new kinds of fabric. ] Vanny leava.

[ A Rotom buzzes by, and he chirps at it. Could you go see if Trainer's available, please? He wants to talk shop to a human and he's learned from experience he'll need an interpreter. ] Lea.

[Damn. Kanji is impressed. From craftsman to crafts-'mon, he knows good work when he sees it. He grins widely at the look of the thing-]

You do a lotta this work?

Van van. [ Natto rubs the back of his head modestly. The theater's counting on him, and he doesn't have combat training, so....

He's more interested in what Kanji's invented, but he does hold up the top hat he's working on decorating while he waits for Haruka to arrive. The Pokémon this is for likes purple. It's...very obvious. (If Kanji looks closely, he'll notice that every project in the room has leaves on it somewhere or another, too. Just because this Leavanny has learned to sew properly doesn't mean he doesn't honor the classics.)

There's footsteps in the hall. A human has been found! ]

[Okay, he appreciates the taste in colour there, too. He smiles a bit-]

Heh. Most'a my guys would rather screw with what I'm doin' than help out. An' if you're doing this yourself, damn. That's cool.

[Beats the last member of that evolutionary line's work that he saw by a mile.]

[ Natto looks pleased as punch that Kanji is not only interested but approving of his work. Everyone was nice enough to tell him he could run the costume room here at the theater, so he works twice as hard to pay back their expectations of him.

He still feels a little bashful at this much praise, though. And from someone who's invented Enhanced cloth, no less! He's being praised by a genius. ] Vanny leava...

[ Those footsteps outside are joined by words. ] ...him a television. What, is he getting another -

[ ...second opinion on the costumes? No, that doesn't look like what Natto's doing with the Warp Band, which Haruka'd lent him to listen to while he worked. She peers over Natto's shoulder. ] Can I help you?

[A genius? Him? Man, Natto's got the wrong guy. Any Engineer could have done it if they'd spent their life around ... textiles and arts and crafts ... okay, that's narrowing the field down quite a lot, but still. Kanji'd never call himself that in a million years.

He waves briefly when Haruka comes into view-]

Huh - oh, hey. You this guy's trainer? He was askin' about the work I've been doing. ... I think.

[ Well, given your own surroundings, sir, she can't say she's surprised. Haruka chuckles. ] Probably wants to collaborate.

What d'you make?

Leava vanny van leava leavanny! [ Oh, Trainer, wait till you see the fabric! This guy is so clever! ]

I do a lotta sewin' and work like that. Been workin' on Enhanced textiles for clothes. He ... [with a bit of a shrug here] seems to like 'em.

Enhanced clothing? [ Natto nods, and Haruka gets it. That's something the Leavanny will never be able to make, no matter how skilled he is, isn't it? And rather than get jealous, he's filled with admiration.

Jeez. How is her Leavanny real.

This guy's hit on a cool idea, though, so Haruka also looks interested. ] I can see the appeal. Did you want a commission?

[ That was to Natto, who nods. Well, he also wants to know how it's done, but that feels like prying into the tricks of the trade....he just thinks it's really cool... ] Vanny leavanny.

[ And he holds up a piece of fabric onto which he'd been sewing flowers and leaves. Imagine fabric where the flowers and leaves were still alive! ] Lea!

[Kanji peers at the screen, trying to make out what's what-]

Hey. That's lookin' pretty good, dude. So... you're after...

[He might be a creative pioneer, but he's no social butterfree. What's Natto asking, exactly?]

...Grass and Fairy, I think. And something to ward against Electric.

[ Natto has kept talking, you see. And he's realized that the practical considerations for this fabric are just as great as the aesthetic ones. Oh, and something waterproof that still looks pretty! So many of Trainer's special human's Pokémon are Water-types. ] Leavanny lea!

[ One thing at a time, kiddo. ] Can you do that?

Well, Grass-type's Electric-resistant anyway, right? [Says the part-Electric type. He should know.] But yeah. I think I can do both types in somethin'...

Real flowers and leaves? [ Natto looks firm upon this point, so. All Art has Nature within it. This is his creed.

...or it's what looks good to him, which is much the same thing. ]

I... [he sighs] don't know if I can pull that off. Livin' flowers... I ain't gotten that far into what I'm doin'.

Va. [ Natto's face falls. He made the guy feel bad! It's okay. His imagination ran away with him. He bows and smiles. It's okay! Sorry to be a bad customer. Anything you can do that's pretty and functional is great! ] Van van.

[ Haruka is going to assume Leavanny's pleased, apologetic smile speaks for itself. ] No hard feelings.

What about waterproofing?

[A nod back. Well: who'd he be if he refused a challenge? He can sure as hell see if he can do something with it...]

Well, again, Grass-type anythin' is gonna naturally resist that somewhat. Or I'd just be lookin' at your normal waterproof fabric.

[ Makes sense. Haruka nods, then listens to some more bug chirps. Apparently Natto still things Kanji hung the moon, because he's actually letting someone have leeway when it comes to fashion. ] He's leaving the pattern up to you. I've never seen him angry, but don't risk it.

[ That's a wink. Natto watches his human, then winks too. But he's not very good at it so his other eye scrunches up. ] Leavanny!

Heh. Cool. So [pause - he's missing something here] ... what're ya actually lookin' for, apart from the fabric itself? What kinda gear?

[actsmagnificent]

[ Good job, Natto. Haruka glances at the bug, who also looks surprised. Oh. Does the enhancement still work if you sell it as fabric and then he gets to make things out of it himself? If not, um...Vaporeon clothes. He has a friend who hangs out with an Electric-type! ] Leava van vanny.

A Pokémon jacket. Vaporeon. Vanny! And boots. Extra enhanced fabric for experiments.

[ She looks at Natto to be sure that completes the order, and the bug beams. ] That's it.

Alright. I can definitely give ya some leftover fabric, but I don't know if it's gonna be good for much 'cept looking smart by then. [Ah, the perils of Engineering tricks when applied to other peoples' work.] Jacket's good, though, I can do that.

Leavanny! [ Oh, how wonderful. Trainer, this is the best day ever. Natto claps his "hands" together and bows again in thanks. No matter what the extra fabric ends up being like, he'll do his best to make something incredible out of it to pay back this human's generosity!

Haruka smiles - she gets it, already, the bug is happy. ] Much obliged.

[Grinning pretty widely, there, at the sight. Aww, just look at him...]
