[He'd heard they had video on the Warp Bands but his old one hadn't had that feature. Maybe it's a good thing this one does.

Martin is in a room in the medical center when he starts it. Which is the problem. He died. He's not supposed to be back in the medical center two months later decidedly not dead and an Enlightened!

But he's back and now he has to adjust to these sharp little claw-nail-things on his fingers on top of everything else. What is his life?

Before Martin gets a chance to say anything, a Budew grabs the band and starts poking at it.]

No, Laterose, not right now.

[The Budew goes out of sight and Martin focuses it back on him with a sigh]

Um. I...I'm not quite sure what to say right now. I'm back? Is that what you say when you die and wake up two months later in the Forest? Is this normal for Enlightened?

[He clearly has more questions but cuts himself off]

Anyway. Could someone catch me up on the last two months?

How sharp are they?

Not very, but enough that it's annoying if I forget and prick myself or someone. They'll take some getting used to.

I might have a fix for that, actually. I had a similar problem with Hyozan, my Avalugg. He had this tendency to walk into stuff, and when you're as big as he is, with sharp edges to boot?

[She shrugs and pulls out a little sketch pad, doodling a few small rubber caps.]

I could get some of these made for you, small enough to just go over the claws.

At least a week, I imagine. They'll want to get as much paperwork out of me as they can.

Are you planning to keep on at work?

Not right now. I want to travel some. I'd been thinking about it before...everything, but now seems to be a perfect time for it.

Where are you thinking of going?

[This is by no means a subtle way of saying she will take you out.]

I was thinking the Old City first, since it's fairly close and I've never been there before. Boar's been begging me to take him anyway.

[Boar nods]

Well, let me know when. I'm more than happy to take you out. That's sort of my job, anyway.
