[He'd heard they had video on the Warp Bands but his old one hadn't had that feature. Maybe it's a good thing this one does.

Martin is in a room in the medical center when he starts it. Which is the problem. He died. He's not supposed to be back in the medical center two months later decidedly not dead and an Enlightened!

But he's back and now he has to adjust to these sharp little claw-nail-things on his fingers on top of everything else. What is his life?

Before Martin gets a chance to say anything, a Budew grabs the band and starts poking at it.]

No, Laterose, not right now.

[The Budew goes out of sight and Martin focuses it back on him with a sigh]

Um. I...I'm not quite sure what to say right now. I'm back? Is that what you say when you die and wake up two months later in the Forest? Is this normal for Enlightened?

[He clearly has more questions but cuts himself off]

Anyway. Could someone catch me up on the last two months?

Well, I'm alive and everything seems to be more or less how it was before I...fell asleep. Except for these.

[He holds up his hand to show off the new tiny claw-nails]

And I uh. Glow in the dark.

[He takes a moment to digest that.]

No one is ever quite sure what will happen once you awaken. [granted, glowing in the dark is definitely new.]

Though, dying first is not something I've heard of before. Are you a ghost type? That would make sense.

I think so.

[There's a noise from off-screen]

So does Boar. [His Honedge] It's the only thing that makes sense, anyway. I'm not Electric, anyway, and that's the only other type I can think of that would glow in the dark.

[He nods.]

...I might know a few places you could visit to learn more, if that's the case. You've heard of the Kurain school, yes?

Vaguely. They're the family with a high divorce rate, right?

[The face he makes, Martin. Like a sputter while trying to not look a little offended.]

[He whispers like someone might actually overhear him.]

Y...You're probably thinking of the right place but don't say it like that.

[He stops whispering.]

Kurain's run by Maya Fey. She's a very good medium and she opens her school up to anyone who might want some advice on the otherworldly. It might be a good idea to go visit.

Sorry, I'm not exactly at my best right now. Dying will do that.

As soon as I can, I plan on visiting every nun and temple and medium I know in hopes of getting some answers. I'm wondering if I just had to die, though. My father was Enlightened and we all expected me to be the same.

[He's actually thoughtful about that.]

As morbid as that is- you might be right.

[He nods to himself for a second and looks up, smiling.]

Regardless, you're here and alive. That's what's important.

[He smiles]

Where are you staying now?

Ah- I suppose you- [Uh. UH.] left right around the time I came back to Union. I've been staying with my cousin at the Hikawa Shrine. You must be impressed I've been here for a whole two months.

[And then theres this squack from behind and a flurry of feathers before there is a Fletchling peering closely at the screen. FLETCH!!!!]

[Hina says hello Martin. She thought you were dead??? Omg.]

Hina, shhh. It's okay, he got better.

[warriormouse]

[He laughs]

It is--

[And then there's Hina and oh no.]

I'm not dead Hina. I'm Enlightened now.

[underwearfortomorrow]

[Oh. She fluffs up, tilts her head and chirps. Well, thats okay then. Good! Being dead is bad for your health.]

He picks her up and moves her cause she fits in the palm of his hand.]

What do you plan to do now? Will you go back to the Swords?

Not right away, no. I think I want to travel a little, see more of the world and maybe find some answers. I was thinking about that before, but now I have a good reason to go.

[underwearfortomorrow]

Travelling always does a soul good, I think. There is a lot to see beyond our city walls.

[He's got some stories, that's for sure.]

Where did you wake up, if you don't mind me asking?

The Forest Shrine. Boar was there, as was my sword.

[underwearfortomorrow]

The Forest Shrine... [He has heard things about that place. Maybe he'll go an check it out.]

I see.

[And then that thoughtful look is gone and he's smiling again.]

You should come visit the shrine. I think your return ought to warrant a celebration of some sort.

[warriormouse]

[He smiles]

I will. I don't think they're going to let me out for a few days, probably to make it easier to get me to fill out the paperwork, but I'll come visit as soon as I can.

I can't imagine what sort of paperwork that's going to be, but good luck. Hina and I will look forward to your visit.
