Aaalright!

[Maya looks particularly excited this morning.

She stands in front of the Kurain Manor's school entrance, though she's facing the school, so only the street is visible behind her.]

So, just to let everyone who visits know... we kind of have a new guardian.

He's reeeally big, okay? But he's been here a long time, so you'll recognise him. Maybe.

[She giggles, turning the camera to face Peri, who has just evolved into Abomasnow.

Peri, whose castform buddy Powel is giving a cooling wind, rubs his neck shyly and waves. Now that he's officially the guardian of the household, he's wearing a Magatama too-- but as he's not a psychic or ghost pokémon, it's not been charged with any spiritual energy. It's mostly a mark of status.]

This is Peri, and you'll see him greet everybody outside the school for classes.

Don't be scared, okay? He's the same as always, but we figured he'd do a lot better out here than inside. Make sure to say hello on your way in!

02 - Video

[ And here we have Dick sitting on his bed again with his warp band. But this time instead of a Growlithe beside him there seems to be a small Skiploom in his lap. And when we say small she's small. Probably less the half of the average size for a Skiploom. And she clearly looks very shy, trying to hide herself from the camera as Dick gives her a few words of encouragement before speaking to the warp band. ]

So hey, I have a few questions. First--

[ he picks up Pip so she can be seen more clearly on the camera. She uses her tiny little arms to hide her face but her size can still clearly be seen. ]

This is Pip. When I first bonded with her I thought her size was because she was a really young Hoppip but she didn't grow at all before evolving into a Skiploom.

[ He lowers her so she can feel comfortable again in his lap. ]

And as you can see as a Skiploom she's still really small. I think she only gained two or three inches in height. Can anyone tell me the average height of a Skiploom so I can compare? Also, how many of you also have Pokemon who are a bit different from the rest of their kind? How whelmed are they about their differences?

Just you know, a few questions for curiosity's sake.

I have wondered for some time...

[A pause as the speaker rethinks his approach to the topic, then starts again.]

...It is generally accepted that humans are a separate kind of being from Pokemon. It is not something that is usually thought about, but I cannot help but wonder if this is the truth of the matter.

All life that we are aware of that have minds of their own are Pokemon, save humans. Why is this, if it is true? Why are those we call Enlightened able to gain abilities as Pokemon do, or even become both Human and Pokemon at will in the case of Shifters. Why can some speak as Pokemon do when most humans cannot?

Perhaps... Perhaps Humanity was punished not solely for its abuse of Pokemon in the past, but in part because in its arrogance the people of bygone times forgot that humans and Pokemon are one and the same...?

[Another moment of hesitation.]

...But perhaps I am incorrect. Still, I believe it is a thought at least worth consideration.

[ A Tropius makes a loud, ungraceful landing in town. There's little regard for where or what he might be landing on, he's tired of flying. His passengers are tired too. The little girl on his back slides off and onto the ground, she's followed closely by a Roselia who settles on her lap. They all look dirty too. Ib's face and legs are smudged with dirt and her long brown hair is a tangled mess, her clothes fair no better. After all, she hasn't been in town for days. ]

[ She leans against the Tropius and holds tightly onto Boo, the Roselia. ]

Trro, tropius ( Here, eat. ) [ The huge pokemon bends his long neck down towards her to offer the fruit. ]

[ She weakly pushes it away and hides her face behind Boo's head. ] Rose? [ Just a comforting sound Ib makes no response to. ]

[ A little later she can be found trudging back to Garry's now empty home. A place where she used to live with her sister and guardian but now she's alone except for the Pokemon. ]

 So~o...

[It's rather widely known by now, at least among the noble families, that some of the Flourites were involved in a very public - and rather loud, when it came to some parts - argument at a dinner party recently. Since Fai was the catalyst, perhaps that's the reason he's looking a bit sheepish.]

My family has kind of decided to cut me off financially, at least for now. [He shrugs lightly, barely looking bothered - almost amused, really, but perhaps also a bit bewildered.] Not as bad as being disowned, and really, it's not that effective since they didn't cut my twin brother.

[He laughs, but then makes a slight grimace, pulling up his knees to rest his chin on them.]

A~ny~way, it still feels a bit strange to live off his money, you know? Which is silly, because I've always lived off my family's money, but I suppose I've never been much for making sense anyway.

The point is, I feel like maybe I should actually get a real job and get money that way instead.

[A hesitation, and now his laughter sounds more embarrassed.]

Except, of course, I have no idea how you do that. Do you just go around asking people until someone says yes, something like that? I'm good at science and math and such things, but I've got no idea how useful that sort of thing is for making money, so maybe I should just focus on more practical skills?

...I must sound pretty strange to normal people, huh? I mean, people who've actually had to take care of themselves properly instead of learning which fork comes first, that sort of thing. But there it is. I'm only really good at being a noble, and that's not much good for anything at all, so I guess I'll just have to learn something new.
