Spring Fling

For those who fear the encroaching flowers herald events of a slightly more urgent nature, perhaps it isn't really paranoia so much as sensibility.

Two days after they first appear, every single flower in Union blooms overnight. The sight is incredible - the entire city is blanketed in rainbow waves of color, and the scent of the flowers themselves is quite fragrant. The strange pink blossoms are particularly attractive.

For many of the residents of Union, however, the flowers may not be the first thing on their minds as things go a bit chaotic.

1. Enlightened with a Bug, Fairy, or Grass typing will become subject to extreme emotion swings. Primarily, the emotions will be positive, like overwhelming ecstasy, a sensation of giddiness, and a desire to spread cheer amongst their friends. These Enlightened may also suffer from confusion, an excessive amount of energy, and general loopiness. When not in sunlight, they'll swing towards the negative end of the emotional spectrum.

2. Bug, Grass, and Fairy type Pokémon have taken it upon themselves to settle into this new paradise, with the Bug types descending in swarms from above, and the Grass and Fairy types wandering in through the gates whenever the guards aren't looking. Though not violent, they'll be generally insensitive to the trouble they cause for the humans and will react negatively to anyone or anything harming the flowers.

3. Other strange Pokémon have also wandered into Union and while most appreciate the gentle sunlight, a few of the more mischievous have decided that the city could use some more variety. Each individual Castform may alter the weather between sun, rain, and hail within a certain area of the city ranging about two blocks. If Castform is creating Rain or Hail, Fairy, Bug, and Grass Enlightened will respond in a negative manner.

4. Allergies will be more fun to deal with than ever.

5. Finally, the following event Pokémon will be temporarily available to be bonded with as an extra bonus for this week. Please respond in the Map and Wild Pokemon post as per the usual to claim these. The level range is 5-8.

This event will end on April 13th. You may use this post as an IC mingle or make your own entries as you wish. If your character is a Fairy/Bug/Grass Enlightened and you prefer not to play the effects, you may opt-out.

[ Action - Around Union/Pokemon Habitat ]

[ With the flowers in full bloom Roxas feels great! Arguably the best he's felt since he first woke up here at Union. His Pokemon seem to be enjoying the weather and flowers as well. Most particularly Sora the Sylveon, Keeper the Klefki, and Evangeline the Illumise. So if any of these three are around there might be some extra activity. Flowers being put in your character's hair, Sora being even more friendly than ever, and what not.

Taking advantage of the weather and his mood Roxas will be around Union with a few of his Pokemon. He's not sticking to areas near the University or Medical Center either. On his own accord, and not by chasing down two baby Pokemon he's out and about nearly everywhere in Union from the Entertainment District to the Residential District.

You could also find him at the Pokemon Habitat relaxing with his Pokemon as they run around the habitat or just relax alongside of him. But regardless of where you find him he's going to be far more approachable and a lot less awkward! ]

[ He's not going to be in Union the whole time. He's going to spend some time outside of Union as well! Particularly the Moss Rock in the Verdant Forest. But before he goes he decides to message someone, Lea, with the following message: ]

Hey Lea! I'm heading out to the Moss Rock I've heard about. Want to come along? I'll wait for you at the edge of the forest. Don't be late or else I'm going myself!

I. I don't understand!

[A voice shouts over through the Warp Band and a picture shows up. It's of three Magnemites, attracted together through their respective magnetic fields. The background is of a Union laboratory, completely messy with machine parts scattered around the floor and desks. There's also a spilled cup of coffee to the right. The Magnemites all share the same expression of weariness. They have wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, all manners of tools gripped by their magnets.]

It's been like this ever since we went down to the Old City. Two other Magnemites swooped in and clung on to poor Polaris. Would any of you possibly know a remedy to this?

I wouldn't mind making use of three Magnemites, but it'd be totally inefficient if they insist on being locked in this magnetic group hug. Maybe someone strong enough could lend a hand, because I'm clearly out of options!

[Action]

[While the feed is still on, Eggman will just be pulling at Polaris, having tried everything at his disposal to pull them apart. Of course, "everything at his disposal" involves some amount of metal... all of which the new Polaris pulled away from the doctor's grip "unintentionally".]

[Sora's not bothering with video today, instead going straight with voice. It's been a good day, being with Roxas who is actually acting like his old self. Still, he has a pretty important question to ask]

Uh hey! Sorry I haven't used the warp band much lately. I guess I got caught up with school and training, heh heh. [Mainly, make up homework for all that slacking off] I'm still here though!

Anyway...uh, I was wondering...if someone could help me something. My powers evolved and I'm part flying type so, uh...

Anyone got any good suggestions about what to do about shirts when you got wings?

[Hello Union. Enjoy the expression of a man who decided to go for a walk to enjoy the weather and ended up the perch of more than a dozen pokemon who have apparently decided that he's a comfortable and non-threatening spot to attach themselves to for a bit. He's certain that someone is going to get a good laugh out of this, but that's not terribly important at the moment.]

...I appear to be in somewhat of a predicament. Despite my efforts so far, I have been unable to convince them that I am not entirely comfortable with this. If anyone wouldn't mind providing assistance...?

[If anyone should come across the poor man, he's right where he was when he stopped talking into the Warp Band, trying desperately to convince the swarm of bugs, plants, and fairies that it's quite nice to see them but he really would like to not be anchored to one spot anymore.]
